I do not know if to be precise what you had within mind by residential. But with so heaps getting foreclosed, they have to move somewhere else any in beside their parents or to apartments. U.S actual estate market is shaky. the national average price is predicted to further move about down by 6% for next two year. The commercial/multi family/apartment valid estate market is also showing signs of delicateness. With banks writing bad tens of billions of assets, they are much less ready to lend, especially to real estate, which further weaken the price level. so I read out hold off.

Answers: Well Not too sure about your notion, what you can do is to make a business plan out from your conception and you can share it with population who has the resources.
Maybe business family or someone whom you can trust who might have the web and resources to make it works.

Answers: If you're looking for execution only and that's it, I'd say Interactivebrokers. They give you direct access to exchanges. (That is, you can route your order wherever you want.) They have really low commissions.
However, they are truly "execution only". There customer service is best through "chat". I find their phone service to be less than good. If you are "high maintenance" and have lots of special needs, they are not for you. Don't even try to ask for advice.
One caution: they don't make margin calls. You are expected to know what your margin level is and keep it above the maintenance margin level. If you go below, they will liquidate securities to get you back to compliance.
Don't take my cautions to mean that I don't like interactivebrokers. I really like their software and their execution tools. (You can even leave an order to be executed at a specific time of day, an important item for me.) They just are truly "execution only".
