I have a gas station. i need an investor of $50,000 to improve pumps. any female friendly loan institutions?

Answers: If you cannot get a bank loan, try a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). These are non-profit (generally) institutions that act similar to a bank, but they have more lenient terms on repayment (and correspondingly higher rates!), because they are supporting sections of the local economy, such as low income areas. Some CDFIs have women as a target market. Most CDFIs will require that you already tried for and were refused for a bank loan. (partly because if you had a bank loan, the CDIF would be unneeded.)
Have you tried the Small Business Administration? When I was working in commercial lending, our bank had an unit that did SBA loans and there were programs for women and minorities.

I suggest you check out SBA because $50,000 is right in their ballpark.

Good luck on getting your loan.

How do index funds work?

Answers: The stock market index you hear each night on the news is the total sum of all the stocks if you owned 1 share of each company. Today, that sum is $12,300 or so.

That's how much money you would need to own one share of every company in that index. Well, that wouldn't be very useful for many people, so an index fund does the hard work for you.

If you had $123, then the index fund buys 1/100th of a share on your behalf. This way, when the news says the stock market jumped or dropped 2%, you know that your "portofolio" also jumped or dropped 2%.

The fund managers couldn't possibly match EXACTLY to the penny, but in general this is what is happening and it helps because you are as diversified as you can get being 1/100th of a share stockholder! Hey, you got to start somewhere.
A really simple explanation is an index fund or index tracker is a collective investment mutual fund that aims to replicate the movements of an index of a specific financial market, or a set of rules of ownership that are held constant, regardless of market conditions
