Why interest rates cuts will weaken the dollar?
Answers: When interest rates go down, investor's flock to other currencies with higher rates. International demand for dollar goes down, thus weakening the currency. Domestic demand for dollar unsually improves the local economy and will eventually turn the economy around to justify a higher interest rate. Interest rates cycle. Recessions and depressions kill the dollar.
Lower interest rates means people borrow more, and invest less ! The big money is invested 'offshore' at higher interest rates. So other countries get an inflow of money, and the U.S. gets an outflow, not good for your currency as people switch to stronger ones.
