TD Ameritrade is a decent place, going on for $10.00 a trade.

Fidelity is also a good place beside much more research but also higher trade costs. You bring what you pay for. About $20.00 per trade.

There is also Scottrade at give or take a few $7.00 per trade. Also good but possibly more basic.

You will hold no difficulty buying those stocks and many more at the above referenced sites.
Good luck.
If you know what stocks you want, try an online discount brokerage. My favorite is TD Ameritrade, but lots of well brought-up choices.
Fidelity, TD Ameritrade, Brown, E*Trade (avoid for now), Charles Schwab, Scottrade, Vanguard

Go to Zecco.com. If you have $2,500 you return with 10 free trades per month and only recompense $4.50 for every trade thereafter. Even if you do not have that much money you with the sole purpose pay $4.50 for every trade. This is the cheapest by far contained by the industry. Good luck!
Stock flea market?
well as you adjectives know the stock market is pretty low right immediately. i was thinking roughly putting $500 in stocks! is this smart? im lone 17 and wanna make some money!Answers: Good for you! Great time to buy while in that is blood on the streets.
Do NOT speech to a broker. You can open up an rationalization with a discount firm for $500. Ameritrade have $2k minimum, but Scott-Trade only have $500 minimum. You may need parental consent, but I'm not clear in your mind.
Keep in mind that investing is a slow process. If your $500 become $550 this year, you will likely be ahead of 90% of adjectives investors!
Good luck!
start with a mutual fund.
safer and you bring back to own stock with someone else doing the research...
try one of these or at smallest check it out through YAHOO FINANCE... I recommend Large Cap Blend funds or a Large Cap Value (do good contained by good times and don't tend to loose as much within bad times)...
Vanguard Windsor II
Oakmark Select Fund
T Rowe Price Equity Income
As far as the small investment you are making... most own minimums that are higher, but you can buy mutuals if it is an IRA narrative... talk to a customer service vindication rep at AMERITRADE or E*TRADE... they will help you... put in the picture them you are a minor.
