How is Algebra used within Stock Marketing?

I am doing a project for mt algebra 2 class.
I am trying to find out how people use algebra within stock marketing.

Answers: This is an excellent question to which have given it some thought I do not know the answer to; but I am certain at hand are applications. Statistics is used a great deal especially contained by determining beta and correlation coefficients.

I can think of one use for algebra within investing. If you wish to know how much you will enjoy to invest annually at age 25 to have $1,000,000 at age 65 assuming a 10% annual return, it is obligatory to solve an algebric expression to find the answer if you do not know the formula.

The expression is N* (((1.10)*40)-1)/ 0.1 = 1,000,000. Solve for N which is the annual amout you will have to gather.
It's not.

Sorry
The slope intercept formula can be used to figure out the risk (beta) of a stock that cant be diversified away (systematic risk) .and the return that investors would require to adopt that risk.

Future Value?

If you invest $9,000 today, how much will you have within 25 years at 14 percent (compounded semiannally)?

Answers: 1) do your own homework
2) set your calculator up for 2 payments per yr.

or do it by hand your formula is:
A=P ((1 + r/2) ^2)^t

r=rate ; t=time(in years)

what is your guess? I hold your answer I will tell you if it match what you put on here
I wouldn't invest 9,000 today... lol, that would be a BAD idea...

Wait a few months later see...
