Answers:   Your ask assumes there will be little or no up to date businesses starting up.

Everything goes contained by cycles. I've seen these cycles several times. Here's what happen:

Economic environment favors companies to merge and acquire each other. The aim is mostly to gain more buying power, earnings and as expected, market share. After a time, these significant companies start getting hung up in their own red cassette. Smaller, smarter more nimble competitors emerge beside a better product(s), better prices, better service and start taking sales and open market share away from the larger companies. Because the big companies get too big to compete, they start breaking themselves up to become smaller again to better compete beside the new more elegant competitors and in the varying marketplace.

It's a cycle that happen over and over again. Typical example today is Microsoft. They want to be everything to everyone. They buy up alot of companies, move into new areas of business, and their major product suffers because their attention is on all the other companies they own purchased, or want to purchase. (e.g. Windows ME, Vista).

Remember, Microsoft (and Apple) was born because IBM lost focus on innovation. Microsoft (and Apple) have a better idea.

Another example is Starbucks. Grew too hurried and lost the soul of their brand. Now sales and flea market share are declining from competitors approaching McDonald's and Dunkin Donuts (who both went through their own mega-growth and decline and are back on the growth bridle path again). Starbucks took their eye off their primary product (coffee) and wanted to market music, food and other stuff. McDonald's and Dunkin Donuts realized peope want a honest, but simple cup of coffee.

We're in the "buy" cycle in a minute. In a few years, we'll see companies start to break up and "sell" themselves.

Can CD's be purchased for as low as $500?

It won't be long before Wal-Mart have their own country. They already have stores, restaurants, bank, I think hotels as okay?

On the other hand, ethnic group are beginning to move away from this characteristics of thing contained by a 70s sort of "back to basics" movement near organic foods, smaller shops, helping the environment, etc.

I believe, someday soon, adjectives marketing, all businesses will stop. WHY? because of what Revelation 18:11 says;
Also, the traveling merchants of the planet are weeping and mourning over her, BECAUSE there is not a soul to buy their full stock anymore.
