Government Bond?

I'm currently doing an assignment on a $5,000 investment. I chose to invest in a bond but the problem is that my mentor wanted an interest rate on the bond and how much the advantage would be in 10 years. I've rummage and couldn't find any interest rates on a government bond. It would be of great oblige if some one can tell me where on earth to get the information on the internet. Thanks surrounded by advance. If you know a pattern site please list it.
