Investing Questions and Answers

Is anyone using sogo invest? they service and commision rate look hugely upright. Is near anything buried?

Question:

Answer:
I talked to a representative posterior in May '06 and it seem to be legitimate.

Some drawbacks I saw at the time:

-No EFT withdrawal of funds: This means surrounded by order to thieve your money out, you need to fax a form to them, afterwards they will mail you a check.

-No short selling: They do tender margin once your narrative size exceeds $2,000, however.

-No streaming quote service: You will need to find another source for this.

The appealing point, of course, is the cheap commissions, along next to the ability to purchase partial shares. The number of stocks available for purchase far exceeds BuyandHold, Sharebuilder, and FolioFN, who singular allow purchase of certain stocks.

SogoInvest is a great alternative to the DRiP brokers (B&H, SB, Folio), and an easier starting point than the online discount brokers (Scottrade, TDA, Fidelity, etc.).

Sharebuilder, Buy and Hold, or TDameritrade?

Question:
I want to start investing small somewhere around $100 per month and I am not sure which type of broker to go next to. Is sharebuilder or buy and hold safe. I resembling TDameritrade because I can walk right into their organization and talk beside them so it feels safer but it seem to be more expensive. Any opinions?

Answer:
tdameritrade yes.sharebuilder no.you hold to mail within your sell directive also you cann't get the better price when buying because sharebuilder buys share on thursdays solitary
I HIGHLY recommend FolioFN.

I have used them since Feb. 06, where on earth my credit union suggested I try them (Navy Federal Credit Union) when I told them my desire to survive my own investments.

There are no minimums and you can buy full and partial stock shares. Mutual funds are also available (min. imposed by the fund family applies).

Best wishes,

pup
Like the previous poster Folio Fn is well-mannered. But you can also go to any brokerage that sell transaction free / no load mutual funds such as Etrade to invest beside no fees. However, I know that etrade charges if you don't trade in a quarter. I don't know if that counts beside mutual funds. You should also try scottrade. basically, you should really study your fees. If you putting $100 per month you may get charged $7 to $10 to take home trades. That would be a huge hit. Or, you can find a brokerage that has no inaction fees (scottrade is an example). Then you can put your $100 in every month but just trade when you have satisfactory to make the commission not hurt so much, read out $300 to $500. The money will earn interest when uninvested.
I would be inclined to recommend SogoInvest. They are mode of a hybrid between a Sharebuilder/Buyandhold and a typical brokerage like Scottrade or Ameritrade. Their commissions are among the cheapest out in attendance, they allow partial share purchases, they have a small minimum to clear an account, but they also allow live trading, delineate orders, and fringe.
The best program to make income promptly is http://tinyurl.com/ylkczs

if you don't have the money for that program nonetheless then you should revise to invest. virtualstockexchange.com is a FREE site where you can practice solid stocks with fictional money.

When you get the sway of it:

Sharebuilder.com is the best place for you to start if you want to do stocks. Many mutual funds can accept monthly investment plans, and some will allow you to start next to as little as $50.

If you pick a basic mutual fund, you're probably as past the worst there as anywhere. It won't be a world-beater, but it will be a great place to start until you build up your dollars.

Question:
I live in INDIA pleae backing me gain some knowledge just about public issue. I WANT TO KNOW what is a public issue? How and when it become share in a share flea market.

Answer:
Initial public offering IPO (PUBLIC ISSUE)
it is the initial offering to the public of a company's securities. After the initial offering, the securities trade in the minor market.
Invest within Media. In Print Media or in Electronic Media. You will automatically swot up public issue.
Public issue is one of the ways of raising funds by a company. Whenever an contribute is made to the public to purchase the shares directly from the co ,it is called as pub issue surrounded by a primary market. These shares are consequently traded in the stock marketplace as share secondary marketplace.
every public limited company have a set shareholding pattern: n% is owned by the promoters; n% is owned by the financial institutions or co-promoters and n% is offered to the public at hulking (you and me like) in equity and nouns pattern, for which adverisments are made by the company stating "public issue of x nmbr of shares" at par or at a premium as set by the company . sometimes the company collects share money contained by instalments from the purchaser to stagger their own liability. so as and when such shares are offered in reporters, go to any wall or share market and stuff out forms with money for equity or nouns shares as you would like to be. equity shares take voting rights and preference shares are fixed interest investment. as soon as you are allotted any number of shares by the registrar to the public issue, you are a legit shareholder of the company and your money become share.
IPO . this is initial public offer for shares of a company issued to broad public. the companies colect money for their big purposes this way direct from public
Public issue is company selling the company shares to the public
GIVING SHARES TO THE PUBLIC IS CALLED PUBLIC ISSUE
it is zilch but issue meant for public.

roughly issue may be for

shareholder - right issue
mutual fund , bank , creditors - private placement

resembling if it is public issue - any body can participate surrounded by that issue

this is called as public issue

what they contribute in public issue is call as share

in short, the christen of the process is public issue and product they offer is call as share

it is not full explanation for the meaning of share, if i explain surrounded by details u cannot be able to infer. AS of today this could good explain for u.
public issue is when promoter sell their stake in a company to public it is call public issue, like ipos
When a public predetermined company wants to elevate money from the public it issues shares (either equity or preference) to raise income. This is known as public issue.
Normally in that is a document known as Prospectus along next to the public issue share application form which gives the details of the investments proposed to be made next to the funds which are subscribed by the public, the names of the directors of the company and their standing etc.
One is expected to read these documents until that time investing
DEAR FRIEND,
WHEN ANY COMPANY IS FORMED AND WHEN TO DO THE BUSINESS A COMPANY REQUIRES A HUGE FUND TO DO THE BUSINESS, THEN THE MANAGMENT OF THE COMPANY PLANS TO SELL HIS PROPORTIONATE SHARES TO THE PUBLIC AND GET MONEY TO RUN THE COMPANY. THIS PERIOD IS CALLE A PUBLIC ISSUE WHERE PUBLIC INVEST IN THE COMPANY.

How would you invest $2000?

Question:
I have $2000.00 to try and fashion the most out of, what would you do with it? I am asking experienced investors here!

Answer:
I would unstop an Etrade account and put $1k contained by their "Savings Account" it will make you 5.05% and you can verbs it out at any time. Then I'd put the other $1k into the stock market, conceivably buy Apple -(AAPL) (or maybe a home builder stock resembling KBH or TOL).
Oh, pardon ME!
If you are of a mind to wait for your investment to income off, invest contained by a 30 year bond. Bonds are the safest investment and have a clad pay sour
It's probably only worth putting contained by a ISA or Bond it's not really a significant amount for an experienced investor to take seriously.
Get an ING Direct funds account, it have pretty good interest and it's especially safe. If you are looking to brand lots of money from it, invest in stocks and bonds. Or you could start a home business. You should jump to my website. http://shannon.myteamonthego.com/... just enter your information on the subsequent page and I'll email you. Don't worry, nobody will telephone you about it.
To relay you the truth the best investment is in yourself, put it surrounded by your saving information until you get more money and unfurl your self a business. From there its up to you what you'll do next to it. -Good Luck-
Just do the research first before investing on anything, sometimes their are conartist or scam
to be safe shift with govorment bonds or mutual funds. to in truth make money, lift 300 of that 2k and get some stock marjet books and swot the market, after a fe months put 500 contained by the market and invest and craft money
Ah.. some last minute rates planning.

Best investment: YOURSELF!!
Take classes to improve yourself and your awareness (i.e. Masters Degree). Improves marketability also!

Disagree with the guy who said 30 yr bonds. Doesn't know what he's conversation about. Remember this nearly bonds... the longer the holding period, the greater the risk (i.e. Finance 101 - interest rate risk! Not many traders/investors buy greater than 15 yr bonds!!)
Can't buy much bonds next to $2k anyway.

BASIC QUESTION FOR ALL INVESTORS:
How's your risk??
Simple question but usually complex answers!

Now, near $2k, you could simply invest in an IRA/Roth IRA information.

You can invest in a mutual fund or a giant interest-bearing MMKT account.

Problems
You never stated when you have need of the money. Will you need the money sometime within the next month or so to recompense for expenses?
Consider liquidity issues!

Also, $2k is really not enough to invest contained by anything substantial BUT it is a good start!

Why are stock quotes usually delayed by 15 or 20 minutes?

Question:
Don't you think that a site offering actual unadulterated time quotes would give their customer's an extreme plus? Even the official Dow Jones page list quotes with a 20 minute glitch.

Is this a legal issue or a scientific issue?

If legal: why? What would the decriminalized ramifications be for a physical time stock quote?

If technological: why? Data can be transmitted over the internet next to certainly smaller quantity than a 20 minute delay. I could read between the lines a full minute (maybe) but not 20.

If other, why?

Answer:
It's neither a legal or scientific issue but rather a revenue source issue. Exchanges charge fees for sites/firms to use their information and distribute real time quotes so the sites are simply ratification on the costs along with a small outside edge for themselves of course.

see source below about issues relating to fees charged by the exchanges for data/real time quotes
I think it is for endorsed reasons, although I don't know this for sure. I do know that if you hold an online brokerage like etrade. You can seize real time quotes as a customer.
cuz they're lame.
You can carry real-time quotes. Typically it's a paid-for service. There is no legal or scientific reason why the other services don't administer them. It's a money issue.

You can get real-time quotes from Fidelity, e-trade, Schwabb, SSB, and others if you own a trading account next to them.
so the rich can get richer
i own seen authentic time stock quotes on different internet trading sites. they just charge a premium for this privilege. the prices be between 14.99-24.99. per month.
There is a legal, industrial and economic justification for this. Realtime stock quotes are typically used by institutional and more professional stock traders. The exchanges can charge a fee for this which help them defray some of their operational costs. However, stocks want to be quoted in papers, so the pricing on stock quotes go to zero when they are 15 minutes dated. If you are an institutional trader using 15 minute old stock prices, you are inert - it's like knowing what the traffic be like 15 minutes ago when crossing the street very soon - timeliness is important to the importance of the information.

Thus, having free 15-minute aged stocks creates a useful pricing cook up. Those that want them ASAP can pay a monthly duty, and the rest of the public gets the information for free. There are feasible SEC rules or laws stating that the information requirements to be widely available without restriction (I haven't see them though). This is part of what make an efficient open market (pricing info available to all).

You can now economically get hold of realtime stock quotes via the internet through such products as E*Trade "power users", which is free if you have a infallible $ amount of equities/cash with E*Trade.
A lot of sites individual update at regular intervals. If you want constant changes, you hold to find one that has streaming. In reality, Yahoo! Finance has a short time ago gotten streaming, so you can start there.
You bring back what you paid for.
I reflect there is a lawful issue. If you want to find out when you sign-up for real time facts there is a document that you entail to sign specifying that you are not an insider, you dont own 10% or more of any corporation and stuff like that. There is defenetly a lawful issue

Exchanging Mutual Funds?

Question:
How do you exchange mutual funds under your Roth IRA I want to switch funds but it is below $3,000 right presently I have to hang around until it is over $3,000? Why can't I just exchange for what it is worth and make the addition of more to make the trial fund $3,000?

Answer:
Which funds? And who said you have to linger until the account is over $3,000. Most funds that hold a taxable account minimum of $3,000 enjoy a ROTH IRA minimum of $1,000. If you still meet the requirements (have earn income but not make too much, etc) to invest surrounded by a ROTH, there is no defence not to be able to make the addition of money to your account.
To exchange funds, if it is surrounded by the same kith and kin, just report them you want to switch. If in a hot family, notify the new ethnic group you want to exchange, they will send you a form and toy with it for you.
Need to know with whom you are working-what company. or Third shindig. Look at setting up an account at T ROW PRICE. As long as you maintain the money in for time they will work beside you. I was a long time user. Do not capture labeled a trader!!

What would be the best channel to invest a 6 digit amount of money beside little risk near over a nine % APR?

Question:

Answer:
I would reccommend putting them in an Isa
You could put into a compact disc (Certificate of Deposit). That would be a locked savings vindication you can't dip into untill it matures. Best article is go to your dune and ask to talk to a financial advisor.
Depends on your inevitability for cash. Look for instruments that are fluid.

A disc would fine but would be locked up over a fixed period of time.

Another resort is a high interest-bearing MMKT (money market) details.

Again, depends on your need for brass in bag anything happens.
The merely investment that might give you 9% over the long possession with smaller amount risk is a mutual fund. Go to Vanguard. com they have some amazingly good funds The Equity Income Fund does nearly 11% over the long term.
The best method to invest can be found at http://www.4xmoneytrain.com
You can make within one month what the banks are paying surrounded by one year.
With that amount of money you can call Fidelity and they will hold you talk to an advisor for free. I a short time ago talked to somebody give or take a few the same situation near a five year time frame, and he gave me a short, milieu and longer term investment accepted wisdom. Money market (5%) , bond fund (10%) etc.

Anybody offer you 9% , watch it. pay attention. Don't pay any loads.
If you want a 9% return afterwards you need to adopt risk - look at buying a stock mutual fund. It could drop by 30% tomorrow, but over 10~15 years it should provide a 9% return. If you want little risk , then you are discussion CD's with a 5% return. Talk to a financial advisor at vanguard or fidelity - not an insurance agent, stock broker, or someone on the pattern offering safe , high-ranking returns. You probably want to distribute your money over mutual funds in different areas: US stock flea market index fund, International stock market index fund, and a bond index fund. You also should twig when you need this money - within 6 months or for retirement in 25 years.
