Investing Questions and Answers

What is the best performing stock mutual fund within the aggressive growth category?

Question:

Answer:
The aggressive growth funds have have a very dismal transcript these last 6 years. Almost adjectives other categories of mutual funds hold outperformed them. If you wish to look far and wide you will certainly find some that own performed all right, especially in the emerging market category. Some of those have racked up special records indeed. But domestically they own been, shall we say-so a big disappointment. Investors sort of threw in the towel during the 2000-2003 meltdown.

Here are some "aggressive growth" funds that you might craving to consider. But remember they are aggressive growth and they might very okay suffer a melt down similar to wth 2000-2003 fiasco.

IIF, IFN Funds that invest surrounded by Indian companies. 5 year annual return of IIF is 50%. Is that aggressive enough for you? 5 year annual grown rate of IFN is 45%.

CAF is a unsullied fund that invests in Chinese A stocks. Talk give or take a few aggressive. Up 50% in 3 months. That is as long as it have been around. If I am not mistaken Chinese A shares are not available to foreign individual investors. Very aggressive. Also deeply risky.

Somewhat less risky but aggressive nevertheless is TDF and CHN. Both invest contained by Chinese companies. The 1st has a 5 year annual return of 34%. The 2nd 33%.

Then at hand are the funds that invest in Latin America.

LDF5 yr annual return of 38%
LAQ 5yr annual return of 34%
Most of them will oscillate. Try InvestingBonds.com. It's very informative and a well brought-up place to start.
If you want aggressive growth, try a stock instead of a mutual fund. Mutual fund and aggressive growth don't even belong in matching sentence.

I like this fund: VICEX - The Vice Fund. I also resembling CHL for the long-term as aggressive growth.

What are your thoughts on buying mutual funds right in the past dividend distribution?

Question:
I am trying to understand if it’s worth waiting till the morning before distribution to purchase or right after distribution. Or is it better to lurk until December to invest.

Thank you in mortgage.

Answer:
It's a zero stability. Distribution of dividends will result in a lower lattice asset value. Whether you automatically reinvest or embezzle payment, your effectiveness hasn't really changed. If you intend to take clearance and sell the mutual fund without delay thereafter, be wary of "impulsive redemption" fees.
I'm a long term investor so I don't even look at those date. I buy when the price is right and hold until I don't like the stock or fund anymore.

I know near are people out nearby that buy and sell base on the dividend dates of stocks. However, if you don't hold a stock for a year, you're paying short possession capital gain so I personally can't see that the dividend is going to form up for the taxes they get hit near.

That's just me though. I invest. When I want I want a stock, I buy it. No matter if they've only just issued a dividend or are just give or take a few to. I'm more interested in long possession gains.
The morning after a distribution the price of the mutual fund is going to go down by the amount of the distribution so there's no money to be made.

Taxes are another issue though. In a taxable description, you want to wait until after a distribution have been made. Otherwise you'll construct an investment and then receive a distribution (you could invest on Monday and receive a distribution on Tuesday) and while the distribution is really in recent times you getting your money back you'll enjoy to pay taxes on the distribution.
It is not a not anything balance if you own to pay taxes on the distribution. So it doesn't business in a 401k, or IRA. But within a taxable account, distributions are usually contained by December so {I have read contained by several places} from October on, wait until at smallest late December, after the distribution so you don't enjoy to pay taxes on dividends "you didn't earn."
It's silly, because it will bring in no difference to how much you end up near in the long run, so you are of late making work for yourself! The effect on a fund's NAV is already "priced in" to the fact a dividend/capital gain distribution is about to be compensated out. Look at a chart carefully and you will see this for yourself!

Don't work so not easy! (Unless you just similar to it!)

Vanguard vs Fidelity vs ?

Question:
Who is the best company to use when investing in Mutual funds?

I currently own a target retirement 2045 fund at vanguard but there looks to be some concrete nice funds at fidelity that i would also like to hold. Which has the best tale features and funds?

Answer:
Hey! You do not have to invest adjectives your money with newly one fund manager. In reality, that would be somewhat imprudent. If you similar to a Fidelity fund, buy some. Be careful though. Do not buy funds simillar to those that you already own. There are plent of well brought-up funds available for you from plenty of different companies. You might even consider a couple of closed end funds, traded close to stocks. Give some thought to TDF which invests in China and IIF which invests surrounded by India. Spread your money around geographically.
I have used them both for plentiful years. I find them both to be excellent. If I HAD to choose one it would be Vanguard, based on their overall lower costs and broad index fund offerings, but if I HAD to use just Fidelity I would not be upset about it. Either agency, you really can't go wrong. I suppose the choice for you might come down to whether you prefer index funds or manage funds. If indexed - Vanguard; if manged - Fidelity.
Vanguard is the way to step, period. They are more responsible and enjoy lower costs. Good luck.
Since you invest in a target retirement, simplicity and convenient are probably big to you. If so, consider sticking with one company, such as Vanguard, if you want to hold on to your life simple.

To answer your cross-examine on which has the best article features and funds, I'd have to know what side features and funds are important to you. For example, Vanguard have the best California tax-emempt money market fund while Fidelity have the best sector funds, such as Fidelity Select Health Care Portfolio. In terms of explanation features, both companies allow you to download transactions with one click from inwardly Quicken without logging on to their network sites manually. They are both very competitive contained by terms of features.

If the US stock souk drops sturdy will my International mutual fund loose merit?

Question:
I have Vanguard Intl mutual fund VTRIX. If the US stock market drop hard what will the effect be on my VTRIX mutual fund? I believe that the US stock market are overbought. Your opions appreciated.

Answer:
International funds are good diversifier over time, but surrounded by the short term they give the impression of being to correlate strongly with the U.S. flea market. Take a look at the 2000 - 2002 period: int'l funds be not a safe haven during that drop.
probably, but the per centage drop is weakly to be less than for the U S souk, much less. The fund have a sound portfolio of relatively conservative investments. I give attention to you will weather whatever storm blows over the horizon relatively resourcefully. Remember, the future is unsure. The U S bazaar may not drop at all.
There is such a close correlation in our day between U.S. stocks and international stocks that it is difficult to imagine one group not reflecting a through move in the other. "drops hard" (your term) would be a central move. International firms' shares are certain to act in response to it, and thus, so would this mutual fund.
Yes it will. When the US catches a cold, the rest of the world catch pneumonia.

What happen when a company does a reverse split?

Question:
I have 10,000 shares of stock contained by this company, and I hear that a reverse split is about to occur.

What does this mean, and what will appear to my shares of stock?

Will the price of my shares change?

what is a reverse split?

THANK YOU

Answer:
It simply vehicle your share amount will be cut.
Example:
IF they do a 5 to 1 split your 10,000 shares will be divided by 5. You will be left beside 2000 shares.

This split will raise the price of the stock dramatically but since your shares be cut in the first place you roughly stay right where you are surrounded by terms of money.

I have this happen, I disappeared everything alone and all turned out fine.

The reverse split is disparate the regular split. You probably know that the when stocks split they go agency down in price... This is a huge indication to buy while that price is LOW. Yet tons do not understand and they acquire scared of the price dropping and flog out. To which they lose almost all their money! DUMB opinion but some people really shouldn't be investing if they cannot control their fright.

Thanks for asking such a good put somebody through the mill !! I tried to put the answer in the simplest form.

Happy Black Friday !

: )
your number of shares will lessening for example... 2 shares will become one..depends on the company how it will reverse split. 3 for 1 , 4 for 1 etc etc.
the first guy is correct there will be smaller number stock available for purchase. The value should increase as these stocks are immediately harder to come by. Also, the value should increase b/c this shows that the company is doing resourcefully enough to buy rear legs the stocks they have currently to muffle the number (usually)
You will have partly as many shares and they will double within price.

Will the Fed Raise Rates at his January 30th gathering?

Question:
or will he pause beside a Rate hike?

Answer:
I judge he will pause. Early on closing quarter the anticipation was that the Fed may LOWER rates, but as the final reports of the quarter showed some inflation signs, the consensus is that it is still too hasty to lower rates but raising rates would be an overreaction.
Housing sale are very slow right very soon, so I doubt they will raise the rates right immediately.
NO...if they did, they would kill the stock souk and probably put us into a recession.
Word is it will not be raised, SOOOOOOO count on it raise, that is my luck. But I do not devise it will raise, things on a strong steady roll right in a minute!
with housing sale down. I think it would be a dumb move by the feds i vote no
I don't suppose Greenspan would (if he were still there), so the unusual guy probably won't at this time. 8-)
