If a stock does a reverse split does it propose my stock is worth more?
Question:
Answer:
A reverse stock "split" usually happens when a company's stock have perfomed so poorly that the stock is in trouble of being delisted from a stock exhange. Also, exceptionally cheap stocks - such as one well beneath $5.00 are often considered a poor risk and disregarded by most mutual funds and stock analysts.
A company does a reverse - read aloud 1 for 10 reverse of a stock selling for $2.00 - in directive to raise the price to $20.00. For every 10 shares you have worth $2.00, you now own one at $20.00. The reverse doesn't relocate any of the fundamental reasons that the stock be doing so lousy in the first place.
The other idea to do the reverse split is for earnings. In our example, returns are also 10X larger as well, so that'll abet show how a company is doing. Instead of 0.04 or 0.05, 4.4c will now show as 44c. That'll comfort the valuation be more accurate.
Most financial advisors would suggest staying away from the stock unless you love high-risk gambling or unless you are really confident you know profoundly more about the company than the rest of the investment community know about it.
I read out do your homework and see.
But as you see, the actual stock is worth the same. You still own duplicate percentage of the company before and after the split.
Cheers!
Sometimes it does. Most of the time when it does a reverse split it channel they are trying to get some of their stock stale the market and can't afford to buy it. Usually finances the company isn't doing that well but still have hopes of improving.
Yes, but not really. Example: If you own 100 shares at $5 respectively, and you have a 2:1 reverse split, you will enjoy 50 shares worth $10. You have equal total worth of stock, but less of it. Make sense?
A few years ago my Palm stock did a reverse split. From what I think through, its usually not a good sign. They bundle voice 5 stocks into one to try to bump the price/per to a higher amount to take home it more attractive. It doesnt necessarily make your stock worth more.
The price is greater but the stock is worth the same since near are less shares outstanding.
How to work out interest rate swaps?
Question:
Answer:
That really depends on to many variables to explain here. The present importance of a fixed rate for floating rate swap can easily be computed using the present effectiveness of the components. Some sort of estimation of the future rates have to be made from the yield curve. But for more complicated swaps things might be much more complicated.
I recommend this book
Valuation of Interest Rate Swaps and Swaptions by Gerald W. Buetow, Frank J. Fabozzi
Simple interest rate swaps are traded instruments. So nearby is no working out as such. For example a 5 year fixed rate vs 3 m $ Libor would be quoted at approximately 5.02% (+/1 0.01% depending on which side you are) in the inter wall market.
What does futures vs. disinterested effectiveness miserable?
Question:
Answer:
Futures essentially price any instrument or commodity at a point of time in adjectives.
Let us take a hypothetical example.
Let us enunciate Gold costs $ 100. And it costs $1 per month to store gold. The unbiased value of gold ingots 1 month from now should be $ 99. Futures would price it at or slightly close to $99. In the real world the futures are give or take a few as fair as it get.Fair value computations can differ from one personality to another. Hence differences could arise between what the market is pricing through futures and what you regard as is the fair merit. In the above example if 1 month futures was trading at 99.1 instead of 99, after you would say it is bad the fair appeal.
Are you bullish on Gold and for how long will it rise?
Question:
Thank you.
Answer:
Bullish because of two reasons
1) I expect USD to emasculate considerably going forward. Though the inverse correlation between gold and USD will sap your strength, still investment demand for gold ingots will rise if USD falls.
2) India, one of the largest consumers of gold is getting richer.

Question:
My current 10th grade class is participating within a state wide (missouri) stock flea market game contained by which participants recieve a hypothetical 100,000 dollars to invest surrounded by the stockmarket. You cannot have more than a third of your affluence in one company at one time. This hobby only last one and a half months. Because of the time target I will need to buy stock contained by companies the grow at an enormous rate immediately. Any suggestions would really help.
Answer:
I yearning our school did something close to that... that would be cool.
I've been watching the communication lately, and from what I've seen on CNBC, for short occupancy, Crox is the best. They are going to be a short fad that will shift up and up. They will be a great short term investment, but within the future they won't be much (like LA Gear... remember that? I thought not). Underarmor is another worthy choice. Also stay AWAY from any airline. They are unstable.
Any company that you think is doing dutiful and that will have a apt leap in the subsequent month and a half would be polite. Just basically view CNBC and look to see what they are saying and what they recommend.
Good luck to ya man.

What website/software can recount me if within if in that is more PUT interest or CALL interest on a stock?
Question:
also how do you read a put/call ration? If a put/call ratio is 1.73, what does it mean? I approaching to find out how I can figure out how copious put option vs ring up option is approachable on a stock, any website I can use to optain this info?
thank you in advanced
Answer:
I be also told that sometimes a put call ratio for something approaching stocks is not always the best point to go by. This is because investment firms sometimes quibble a position. They might be mostly long on a stock because they are expecting a big move. However, they buy puts as insurance to protect their position incase they are wrong.
I would definitely check out the following websites for a pious amount of info. I do not work for any of them:
www.ireallytrade.com Larry Williams
http://www.optionsforprofits.com/index.a...
Listen to the logic of Ryan Jones on probability and money management.
I would significantly recommend starting out with getting some of Larry Williams books. You can usually buy them cheap on ebay. Although he does not reach a deal much about option, he does talk roughly following the money---the COT (commercials)
good luck
Spencer
The put ring ratio is just what it sounds close to. Simply the ratio of puts to calls. Puts human being an agreement to sell a payment within a specified time time of year for a specified price. Calls being an agreement to buy a payment for a specified price within a specified time time.
Puts are bearish in sentiment, plan the person expects that the price of the collateral will drop below the exercise price, calls are bullish...as a result put/call ratios can be used to determine investor sentiment. 1.73 would be bearish (mkt expected to decline).
I'm not sure if I understand the rest of your ask.
School stock comfort?
Question:
Okay, in math we "bought" stocks and figure out each week the lattice loss/gain and value and % loss/gain. Now I enjoy to figure out the web loss/gain and % loss/gain for each week(all stocks). I deem I know what to do. Don't you just integer out total value, and subtract what you invested?(net loss/gain) For % loss/gain, don't you bear total value and divide by what you invested?(i know the rest of that step)
Answer:
No, not confusing at adjectives, and you are exactly right.
///
Total gain(loss) = (end value - purchase price)/purchase price
if you have need of to do it each week, it's like peas in a pod formula, but the end plus would be at week-end and purchase price at the beginning of the week.
its not that complicated, I'm an investment advisor for Edward Jones, and I enjoy to do this on a daily idea, but hopefully I understand where on earth you're going with this and I can answer your grill.
What you want to do is add up the total worth of your stocks for this week, then subsequent week do it again and find out the difference, for example, you have 3 stocks at $10, $20 and $30, adjectives together they add up to $60, let say subsequent week the total value go up to $66, you have gain $6 and 10% (6/60= .1 or 10%).
Same thing for when you're calculating your overall gain or loss, lug the difference between how much you invested and how much your stocks or "portfolio" is worth today.

I be basically given a .999 troy ounce hotel of silver.Would it be a polite investment to hold?
Question:
Answer:
yes it would be, i was given a coin resembling that when i graduated from 8th class and i still have it, not sure what its worth but its something to sway on to
you'd have to look it up. but overall i don't know if silver's a rising commodity right immediately. maybe slowly.
furnish it to your kid and they their kid and maybe you'll crack a profit.
surrounded by other words don't sell for $$
Check the stock souk and see what silver is selling for today. In time it might be worth something. It was given to you, next you're a head anyway.
An ounce of silver isn't worth much and is never promising to be worth anything substantial (ie your ounce of silver won't buy you a new motor or even a bicycle in the future).
If you are interested surrounded by silver as an investment consider investing in a mining company.
No.

What's the best online trading platform?
Question:
I currently have sharebuilder but they charge twice as much for selling than for buying stocks.
What are other competitors? I'd close to one with no minimum, no maintance fees any.
Answer:
There are a lot of correct brokererages depending on what you like and how you trade.
Barron's Online have a great article on brokerages that they publish each year. (I'll try to find you the interconnect for the March 6,2006 article)
For basic stuff, E*Trade, Ameritrade, and Scottrade are sufficient. For more complex trades, I'd recommend Optionsxpress, ThinkorSwim, or interactivebrokers.
Based on what you put surrounded by your question on wanting affordable w/o sluggishness fees, I'd recommend optionsxpress since they have no minimum pursuit that you're required to do. Further, they have some great strategy scan and a decent virtual trading platform to practice on.
Brokerages similar to Fidelity are horrible for anyone with any wearing clothes experience. Though they do have wearing clothes research stuff.
But for research, there are SOOO copious places to find good stocks.
So, prefer what's important to you as a trader and compare the brokers! You can use the article, or jump to each website as they adjectives seem to hold comparison charts!
And if there are any other picky things that you want to mention as being most considerable to you (such as executions, cust svc, cheapest trade - which you mentioned, flexibility on allowing you to do certain types of trades, stop and stop ceiling orders, contingent directives, great graphing, what if scenarios, training, etc), I'll be glad to assist discuss this with you too!
If you enjoy any questions, permit me know.
Hope that helps!

cheap trades and amazingly good tools and unproblematic to use- go to scottrade.com and purloin a tour
