One great source of information is the historical DOE prices.
They hold 30 years of prices. Every single year since 1970, the price has gone up.

Yes, the hotter or colder it is, the more NG is used for power contemporaries. With a limited supply of NG, this cause the price to go up as different companies and countries compete for the available supply Winter cause more of a draw, and most likely a rise.
Futures contracts even this out.

Sure, impressively cold winters increase demand of ng.
In the short run, supply can't maintain up - so market equilibrium price is soaring (has a run-up).

Why does the price of an ETF follow its NAV so much closer than a closed-end fund?

Question:I see premiums and discounts of up to 20 or 30% on some closed-end funds, but ETFs seem to stay in 1 or 2% of their NAV. Why? Thanks for your time and trouble.

Answers:
Arbitrage.

The ETF sponsor will publish the 'basket' or list of constituents every light of day and must allow people who own assembled the constituents to swap that basket for shares surrounded by the ETF (given a minimum quantity). Arbitrageurs will then trade the picnic basket of stocks vs. the ETF. The classic case of this is the SPDR ETF. Proprietary trading houses are competent to execute trades in the 500 stocks surrounded by the index simultaneously while selling the ETF.

The amount of computer power that proprietary trading houses devote to this is staggering. A tiny edge contained by execution repeated many times a hours of daylight results in big money.

One more item, when the stock market drops a bunch during the sunshine the NYSE will impose trading curbs which hold on to these firms from entering these orders electronically.

The controlled term for this swap is creation/redemption depending on whether you are tender the constituents and taking shares in the ETF or deliver shares in the ETF and delivery the constituent.

Closed end funds don't bestow this creation/redemption privilege so there is no machinery to keep prices contained by line.

Generally an ETF is index-based or rules-based. Closed ending funds are often actively manage meaning the portfolio is recurrently based on subjective decision.

Other Answers:
I believe Closed-end funds normally market with a "load" which is simply a built in commission tax. Maybe that causes it to be almost 20-30% different surrounded by price than it's NAV.

I don't think ETF's own "Loads", so theirs should only differ by some small percentage base on the increase or decrease contained by their market merit...or their demand. Transparency is the plea.

Close-ended funds will usually trade at face utility only when the redemption date falls around the corner. Till that time they trade at premiums or discounts.

ETFs however are actively manage. Any mismatch between the ETF units and its underlying asset will provide arbitrage opportunity. They sell the costlier one and buy the cheaper one. ETF traders clearly know the constituent stocks that create the ETF units. Hence valuation is not a problem. This make the opportuinities of seeing such big premiums rarer or almost impossible in ETFs.But close -ended funds bequeath only frequent NAV info and underlying info is given smaller amount frequently. Hence such intense arbitrage is not possible contained by the case of closed finished mutual funds. The number reason closed-end funds trade at such a big discount are:
1. Lack of liquidity. The float and trading volume are too frothy to provide for a narrow bid/ask spread. To compensate for this illiquidity, investors discount the shares. ETF are importantly liquid.
2. Lack of all right research coverage. Very little is known going on for the closed-end funds activities or its admin. Since ETF are indexes, research is not reuired.

Use your student loan money to finance your training, not your lifestyle
Tuition, room and board, and textbooks are smart ways to spend your student loan money. Eating out, buying CDs, clothes, going on spring break, or otherwise bankroll your social life, are not. You'll be paying these loans rotten for ten to 20 years, so use the money wisely.

The Bottom Line

Smart use of your money and your credit surrounded by college will enable you to spend the money you earn when you graduate on things you really want (a brand new car, a nice apartment or house, a great wardrobe, travel, or whatever) instead of adjectives your disposable income going towards debt repayment

What is (or is designed by) a "bear" or (vs?) a "bull" souk?

Question:Please use simple language for someone a bit ignorant within these matters.

Thanks!

Answers:
The classical definition of a bull open market is a 20%+ gain in a focal asset class over a time period greater than one year. By principal asset class, it means a type of investment such as stocks or bonds. Sometimes bull market coincide in multiple market; sometimes they don't, so it's possible to have a bull bazaar in stocks and a tolerate market contained by bonds.

The generally agreed definition is a decline of roughly 20% or more in an asset class. Basically, the disparate of a bear marketplace.

There is no real "official" definition of what a take on market or what a bull flea market is, but the definitions above are across the world the ones accepted by most open market economists.

Other Answers:
For those who don't spend a lot of time on Wall Street, bulls and bear refer to opposite trends within the stock market. According to Investor Words, a bull bazaar is "a prolonged period contained by which investment prices rise faster than their historical average." Conversely, a bear open market means "a prolonged interval in which investment prices trickle, accompanied by ubiquitous pessimism." So, bulls good, bear bad...
Source(s):
http://labnol.blogspot.com/2005/05/why-are-bull-and-bear-symbols-of-stock.html
A undergo market is when it is going down. A bull bazaar is when it is going up. The terms come from how the animals encounter. A bear will come down on you where on earth a bull will come up with it's horns.
tolerate market = a term of time where stock prices tip out and there is profoundly of pessimism (sadness/negativity) about the stock souk. This is usually bad for investors. But might be a pious time to buy certain stocks, when they are cheaper if you reflect on they will rise again.

bull market = a strong stock bazaar...prices are increasing...investors are making money...all is obedient
Bulls are optimists.
Bears are pessimists.

This definition is only within stock market parlance. Bull is a collective label for market participant who flood the market beside money. Bears pull down the flea market by withdrawing their funds.

When optimism is at work in the souk the bulls dominate and hence it is termed as bull souk for the day. On a pessimist daylight the bears dominate and it is call a bear souk.
