Level 2 investing is it better than only using your stockbroker?

Question:

Answer:
Level 2 is just a tool, it misses too much information.
My answer might not facilitate, since I don't use Level 2, but there are professionals out nearby who swear by it. I once read a newspaper article in the region of some Chinese woman in NY making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year surrounded by salary using Level 2 to trade stocks, outperforming the flea market by a mile.

However, almost everyone uses level 2 very soon, and there are abundant tricks and traps that market players use, so it's unambiguously something that needs to be mastered. I've never be able to amount it out.

Where do I find out which ETFs hold a demanding stock?

Question:
For instance, if I own Boeing (BA), we all know it is a Dow component, but it is also a component of the ETF for Aerospace (ITA).

What other ETFs out nearby might hold Boeing as part of its holdings? Do I hold to go through adjectives 400+ listed ETFs to answer that, or is in that a website that would simply display this?

Answer:
Well you were asking what site shows ETFs and their holdings, which the first responder didn't really answer.

To date, I enjoy not seen a site exactly resembling this, but for the meanwhile if you hit the Components or Holdings link surrounded by the summary page of a ticker in Yahoo stocks, it will at smallest tell you what is held contained by any ETF. Good luck.
You can pretty much assume that all of the huge cap etfs hold it. You can also pretty much assume that the small hat and mid cap do not hold it nor the foreign. You can also stamp out the bond etfs and many of the sector specific etfs. So you do not own to check all 400+, perchance 50 or so.

But don't forget all the mutual funds that hold it if you are really doing a thorough research available job.

There is an old truism, “ you ask a silly question and you shall receive silly answer” This is exactly happening very soon a days over business channel. The T.V anchor ask a silly give somebody the third degree from stock analyst and analyst gives a silly answer, the result of which is that some investors work upon on listening, lands into serious trouble and incur losses Little wisdom is more harmful than no comprehension. So long you have no scholarship about stock souk, you will never invest in the stock flea market and the day you draw from little knowledge in the region of stock market, you will appropriate decision to ride the stock flea market and start incurring losses. So before making investment, investors must hold own investment decision after applying their mind, taking methodical and fundamental view into consideration. Investors must read a stock wisely, interpret the same within between the lines, and understand the dynamics of the stock past putting his hard earn money and if he is not able to do it for some function, then he must route his investments within the stock market through Mutual Fund which is moderately safe since funds are manage by the professionals. Here again timing is the essence as when money is to be invested, the thumb rule is that when market corrects significantly by 20% to 30%, it become right time for investment in the mutual funds. Happy investing and best of luck.

Any opinion on Joel Greenblatt's little book something like "the sleight of hand formula?" I be thinking of trying his counsel.

Question:

Answer:
The magic formula is simply buying companies with great returns at low P/E ratios. It's a simplification on utility investing, but there is a arrest: companies with great proceeds should not have low P/E ratio. The implication is that the company have had some discouraging news contained by the meantime, or projected lower earnings contained by the future. That doesn't niggardly the formula doesn't work, but you may be buying companies that are decidedly unpopular.

He has a website that runs the formula for you. I forget where on earth, but I'm sure you can find it. If it's a choice between his formula and trading on your own, definitely use the formula.

However, you must be consistent, and you must fulfil his holding period - I have an idea that it's a minimum of a year.
His approach of buying "good companies at appropriate prices" is the summation of value investing. I doubt you can jump wrong listening to him and following that method; I see something drastically similar and the results are satisfactory to utter the least.

What is the best brokerage to verbs ur $$$ for your roth ira?

Question:
right now i hold about $37k within a citibank roth ira account. and im not rewarded with their tax per trade or commission. they charged me $24.99/trade for doing a trade thru the web and i reflect on about $50 over the phone. that suggest for buying and selling for a particular stock would cost me roughly $50 if i were do it online. and i don't do alot of tradings anyway...perchance 3-4 trades per year. but if i were to competent to reduce the trading tax down to like $8/trade or smaller number..who knows...conceivably i trade more a year. citibank ira customer service is ok over the phone...they are knowledgable and waiting is not that long over the phone...maybe approaching 5 min max.

so i called fidelity and edge of america. fidelity told me they will charge me about $19.99/trade base my asset and number of trade i probably do a year (probably no more than 10 trade/year). it would go down to approaching $10/trade if i do like over 100 trades/year which i know im not gonna do. so surrounded by the end it would cost give or take a few $19.99/trade. then edge of america is next..they told me they charge $14/trade..a flat rate. they told me i would it would cost $0 if i be to put additional $25,000 surrounded by one of their saving or checking vindication which im not gonna do. so to summarize, fidelity: $19.99/trade and bank of american: $14/trade.

i haven't done other research on other brokerage or online brokerage firms close to ameritrade, etrade, scotrade etc.
so my question is this...any1 here hold any recommendation for other brokerage firm or online brokerage firm that charge smaller quantity trading fee and also hold good customer service over the phone? i dont have need of an advisor (which i know would cost more $$$), i know what im gonna invest in...some stocks, etf, mutual funds etc. i a moment ago need a virtuous customer service to resolve basic thngs over the phone.

so to finalize, what are some honest brokerage firms out there beside what im currently use which is citibank? remember this is base on fees and customer service. thx in credit.

Answer:
Do you trade only stocks contained by your IRA account?
I hold and buy/sell mut funds beside Fidelity for no trans fees...
... my trades are down to $9.95 ( account get bigger)..
Just thought you should know about the funds...as far as service go... Man! That seems to be their " forte"... things win handled on the phone..right after and there...no bouncing around...solitary once a " return call"...and as far as a transfer or rollover..they knob almost everything...tell 'em where on earth it's at they go acquire it.
Good luck.
I believe Scottrade is running the lowest rates right now. Something approaching $7 a trade. It's a good place. I enjoy been kicking around transferring my TDWaterhouse explanation there myself. $24.99 or $19.99 is path too much if you make your own investment decision and don't need their sustain.
I will give you a short answer. Based on fees and customer service following can be your option which offer FREE trading ($0 commission fee) near certain conditions.

Based on Fees:
----------------------
Based on your situation, if fees are the most significant criteria, you may want to check out the Wells Fargo PMA account.

I am assuming that the $37k contained by your Roth IRA is invested in mutual funds, stocks and money bazaar funds. If you transfer the together amount, then you would qualify for their PMA report which gives 100 free transactions a year (and over 100 trades, it costs $5.95 a trade) for both stock trades and the non NTF (no transaction fee) mutual fund trades; this is besides the several hundred NTF mutual funds that are available near them. This gives you an opportunity to own the best of the mutual funds including Dodge and Cox, Fairholme, and adjectives Vanguard funds at one place without any transaction fees.

As per Wells Fargo, "The PMA Package is free of the monthly service fees for respectively month the statement-ending balances contained by qualifying accounts total $25,000 or more; otherwise, a monthly service payment of $25 will apply. Wells Fargo accounts used for balance qualification include checking, money, CDs (Time Accounts), retirement (IRAs), brokerage, trust (excluding irrevocable trusts), loans, outstanding credit card and lines of credit balances, and may include 10% of outstanding mortgage balance. Certain mortgages not eligible".

Based on Customer Service:
------------------------------...
I don't have an article with Wells Fargo (currently, I am near Fidelity); ergo, I can't say how their customer service is. So, though I resembling their fees (0 for that matter), I am a little suspicious to transfer my assets to them, as Fidelity have one of the best customer services out there. Still, I am mulling over to verbs to Wells Fargo as the fees in a long residence can reduce the return significantly.

Upon some research, the Wells Trade customer service be not rated resourcefully in 2006 by Kiplinger Personal Finance magazine. I am not sure if it is better now.

There are also, other discount brokers close to FirstTrade, TradeKing, ETrade, etc that charge very low transaction allowance for equity and mutual fund trades.

Here are some, what I found VERY helpful, links to read and compare them. (Please information that these are written in 2006 and Wells Fargo come out with the free trades near $25000 minimum only surrounded by 2007):
1). Interactive guide to choose a discount broker:
http://www.kiplinger.com/tools/online_br...
2). An article comparing the online brokers:

4). Wells Fargo Investment Services Fees:
https://www.wellsfargo.com/investing/sty...
5). Review of the reviews of the online brokers: http://www.consumersearch.com/www/intern...

Bottom Line:
-----------------
In investing for long term the fees thing. So do your research based on the above information and links, and choose the one that you resembling. Hope this answer helps. And, accurate luck on your Roth IRA investments!

$2.50
$3.75
$4.40
$5.00

Answer:
i abominate math.
Each interest percentage is based sour of a year. So when they give you months days or weeks you inevitability to divide your time by the total amount of months or days with surrounded by the year.
Interest=principle x rate x time
so for the first one it would be
Interest= 250 x .04 x 75/365

the second one is a future attraction problem.
and the last two are present effectiveness problems.
I only know how to solve those near a financial calculator but if you search online for the formula I'm sure that would point you within the right direction.
Ah ha, just have most of this in Real Estate conservatory:
#5 : Key words 75 days. If you know how much per day adjectives you have to do is lift it times 75 right?

I f you are being charged 4% interest in attendance are 365 DAYS in a year, so 4% divided by 365 = Per time Interest.

Note: There are 360 days in a bankers calender.

4% = .04 as a decimal

.04 / 365 = .0001095

.0001095 x 75 = .0082125 which is our 75 time mutiplier.

In this case we borrowed $250 for 75 days so:
$250 x .0082125 = 2.053125

$2.05
