Investing Questions and Answers

I'm 19yrs antiquated and looking to start investing. At my age would it be better to step into high-ranking or low give up stock

Question:

Answer:
Research.. Research... Research!

Go to marketwatch they update on hot stocks to invest in.

http://www.marketwatch.com

Do some research on your own... and don't believe relatives on RunEye.com because a lot will distribute you wrong answers on picking stocks.
You're young adequate to certainly be looking at individual a long-term investor. Check out a good, consistent on the edge mutual fund, and just save adding to it and you'll do fine over the years.
At 19, I would be more focused on a companies stock. That is going to grow beside your age. If the stock has a relinquish at all. It probably will be small. If you really close to yields. Look for a growth stock next to a yield. Any type of verbs. Two in one combo.

Then when your 50, You can start investing a short time ago for the yields. Unless, your already a millionare.

Related more too your give somebody the third degree. High or Lower yield by itself doesn't really issue. Yes, higher abandon will produce a higher dividend. But, is the company aspect? I would say yield just above the current interest rate. Are by companies that enjoy more quality to them. Usually.

BTW, I can`t bear mutual funds. You can do better yourself. with out paying fee's and etc. etc.

Low. You want long-term growth. I inspire you to invest as much as you can; it gets harder as you carry older.
First you enjoy to define what you're investing for - a fresh car contained by 3 years, or retirement in 20+.

Based on that, plus your rate of risk, plus your current income, make a difference.

Are you willing to lose everything you enjoy? How about 50%? 25% contained by a day? I have a stock (MSTR) that dropped 128 points in soon - so you have to be equipped for that risk if you go directly into the stock souk or into some tech mutual funds.

If you don't have the stomach for the loss, after go conservative.

If you can lose the money and still sleep at darkness - a strong dividend paying stock would be good, KFT (kraft), (MO) Altria, et al. If you gain into a drip (direct reinvestment) from someone like dripadvisor.com, that will lend a hand your money compound for you.
If I were as infantile as you, with more than 40 years for investing, I would start from the big yield stock.

But pay attention, high relinquish means dignified risk, don't use all of your money at on shot, don't try to be rich high-speed at no time, learn from that you have done .... do your homeworks and good luck!
Always diversify into best of breed companies contained by different industries that are doing well contained by the business cycle. AT&T (T)does have a elevated yield and so does Altria (MO) but I would stay away from Kraft right very soon, looking at one of the previous posts.
Defenitly high yeild ..... Look into china for the adjectives. And mutual funds will do you much better because they are smarter than you and can diversify your money and you can't because you don't have satisfactory. ETF's are ok to. Look at trends worldwide like vim use, infastructure build outs, ect. then find a fund that invests surrounded by that.
I would agree with Nathan....you should be focusing on growth not surrender. Keep in mind that you pay envelope taxes annually on your income from "yield" investments. You do not pay any taxes on stocks that appreciate surrounded by value (until you wish to sell them and next it is at lower capital gain rate).

Your mission should be to grow your investment portfolio with appreciating assets over the nest 20 years. You will afterwards have a huge vindication that you can re-adjust to generate income for you should you so choose.

Question:
The Griswold Co. produces 1,500 batteries per year at a cost of $6 per battery for materials and labor. It take the firm 22 days to convert raw materials into a mobile and make a Dutch auction. Griswold allows its customers 40 days in which to pay cheque for the batteries, and the firm pays its suppliers contained by 30 days. Under these conditions, what is the dollar amount of working capital Griswold must nouns?
$288,000
$295,000
$301,000
$307,000
$313,000

Answer:
What? Are you going for you MBA? Why all these business question?
///
What class am I getting you the "A" in?

$288,000.

The singular confusing part here is how copious days they are out the money. From the day they gain the raw materials until they receive currency, it is 40 + 22 or 62 days. They have 30 "free" days, so they have need of cash for 62 - 30 days or 32 days.

Each daytime costs $6 x 1500 = $9,000.

32 x $9000 = $288,000.

So borrow $500,000, friend, because the real world doesn't work this mode.

Question:
Bowa Construction's days sales outstanding is 50 days (on a 365-day basis). The company's accounts receivable equal $100 million and its set off sheet shows inventory equal to $125 million. What is the company's inventory turnover ratio?
5.84
4.25
3.33
2.75
7.25

Answer:
Assume all sale are credit sales.

Days Sales Outstanding = 365*(AcctRecv/Sales)=50,

or

365*(100/Sales)=50

or

Sales=365*(100/50)=730.

Now,

Inventory Turnover = Sales/Inventory=730/125~=5.84

Alyssa Milano open a spanking new rank of clothes, I'm interested surrounded by buying stock how do I find out how to do this?

Question:

Answer:
Based on this story http://www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/0000... , her line "Touch" will be a partnership between the baseball league and G-III Apparel Group, who manufacture and distributes leather and non-leather outerwear. The latter partner would be a good place to return with exposure to how this new flash does. Here is the ticker: GIII. See http://www.irconnect.com/giii/pages/stoc... for more info on the company.

The problem with trying to get hold of exposure using the end retailer, if you be to find out who that is, is (a) it may not be a significant fraction of their revenues (imagine what a drop within the bucket it would be for a company like Target), and (b) the final retailer probably get a smaller piece of the profit pie anyway, since their service is more commoditized in a sense.

Hope this help!
You have to do that slightly indirectly -- by buying shares of the company that will carry her file. For instance, if Target carries her clothes, after you want to buy shares of Target. I think Alyssa Milano is so hot!!
Sky,

I would articulate odds are it is not a public company. Perhaps it is a queue of a bigger company? So perhaps indirectly you would invest contained by it. All you need do is to do a network search for her website. Look for "Company Info" or Investor Relations". Here is the correlation on the main Yahoo trellis page (for Yahoo stock info), it was beneath Company Info.
http://info.yahoo.com/

You could also do a search for a stock symbol on Yahoo Finance.

Good Luck,
VaL
Sorry but I don't hold your answer for this except MLB.COM is the only place I presently know of. However I am desperatly looking and calling around for some surrounded by Australia who has any of her 'TOUCH' flash, specifically either the white top beside the emblem in the middle or the hooded jersey in Medium size beside the NY METS insignia.

HELP PLEASE IF YOU KNOW WHERE I MAY FIND IT, MOTHERS DAY IS NEARLY HERE!
type in Alyssa Milano on G00GLE and see if it is a public company or if it is international.

Would bank confer you a sophisticated rate than conventional if investing a significant amount of money?

Question:
If searching on a variety of financial websites in UK you find that the best interest rates for bank building societies are normally between 6 and 6.3% (depending on whether it is a bond or if consideration is required) for investments of up to lb500,000. If you had a thoughtful lb1,000,000 would the banks tender you a higher rate than at lb500,000 or would it be smaller amount or would they negotiate different terms?

Answer:
The more you enjoy the higher the rate.
Also the longer you are prepared to invest for the highly developed the rate.
I believe you can negotiate between banks.
I presume if you had that much dosh they would negotiate near you.

Wish I had a million quid, thoughtful or otherwise!
definitely. they will want your business so they will compete. Get quotes from several bank.
Yes they will. A teacher told me everything is negotiatable, except my order in that class.
the bank would even lick your shoes for you if u put loads of money in lol
some do and some don't. If you are going to invest seriously of money, you should talk to the hill manager and negotiate a rate. Usually bank give better rates to ancestors who are going to open up big accounts because banks want those accounts, so the more they supply, the more likely they are to seize those accounts. Capitalism baby!
If one have a large amount, it is possible to secure a higher rate of return. I am not decipherable with the bank system in the UK. Here contained by the USA, bank deposits are federally insured up to 100,000. If safekeeping is a concern, one can use 10 banks to hold the total of 1,000,000 federally insured. In this case, you would probably get a sophisticated rate. Putting the whole amount within one bank would let go more and you would have a increase contained by risk due to the possibility of default.
Yes they would plausible offer superior rates, more so even if you were ready to obligate yourself to leaving it on deposit for an extended length of time.
i contemplate they would negotiate
no they will offer you a lower rate because this cuts into the bank profits
I think you'd know how to play the banks bad against each other to acquire the best rate. Esp if you have a cool million.
Yes

The following increase the rate of return you will earn.

Less flexibility, longer commitment, bigger investment.
most of the advertisments that you see on the television are base on lump sum investments. for example abbey nationals 6.0% is lone applied for lump sum payments of 1000.00 this applies to most banks. The more you are investing the more they enjoy to invest, which means they requirement to give you an attractive interest rate near which to hook you.
word on the grape vine is that barclays are the best for ISA, although they do try to sign you up with sundry other things which you dont need or enjoy even asked for.
if you are taking an ISA which is stock market base, paying lump sums is usually more beneficial, although obviously more risky.
No.

Why do companies sometimes proposition asset-backed securities?

Question:
What does this mean when a company will donate something like $1 billion surrounded by asset-backed securities? Is that a good item or bad item for shareholders?

The company is pledging tangible assets near respect to a loan. This has no impact on shareholders. Shareholders in a minute own the cash instead of the pledged asset. Now, if the CEO puts the money surrounded by his pocket . . . shareholders get zilch.

What is Total Return Swaps?

Question:
What is Total Return Swaps? Can you give some example?

Answer:
Suppose that you hold a portfolio of stocks that you have a huge unrealized gain on, and so you don't want to put on the market them. But you are thinking that the next year might be a bleak year for your stocks. Now imagine that I hold a different portfolio that I don't want to sell for duplicate reason, but I don't deliberate will do very obedient for the next year. If I reflect on your portfolio will do better than mine, and you think that my portfolio will do better than yours, we can work out a swap where on earth at the end of the year, we purely exchange the return on our portfolios. We still hold our own stock, but at the end of the year, whoever's portfolio have done the best would send a check to the other soul for the difference in the recital between our portfolios.

That's the general opinion. You can substitute pretty much any assets for the stock portfolios.
