What is a justifiable ROI for an investor over a 5 year medium-high risk start up?
Question:Answers:
Assuming you are referring a VC investment, the required return varies widely but if your business plan is projecting smaller amount than a 8-10x return it will have be pretty compelling or directed at one of the specialists out there. They are also going to look critically at the exit strategy and how authentic your projection is. "Acquisition by Microsoft" (now more frequently G00GLE) is NOT recommended and be careful roughly speaking pushing the IPO path contained by the tech space. (See the Vonage IPO for the reasons why.)
Other Answers:
Something that averages between 12-18% over the 5 years.
i assume you are a VC. what category of exit strategy do you have within mind ?? acquisition, IPO. 5 years is not a long time and if its a tech firm it may embezzle longer that that to show profits and hence gain a gradual ROI. how would you calculate medium-hi risk. its not well formulated and that classification is largely subjective. IF and that's a huge if, if alls goes powerfully you can make at tiniest 10 times your initial investment. best of luck

what is the usage of cultures earthworm, somebody said its for the making of hotdogs, is it true?
Question:many tend here in Palawan have a garden that full of cultured earthworm, but they did not know on what's teh purpose of this product, they know only the certainty that hotdogs came from this worm..But when i research surrounded by the internet, its for a bait only. Where and what should i beleive?Answers:
Earthworms are used for bait fish and for the garden. Hot dogs are made of beef/chicken/or pork meat and sometimes cereal fillers (corn). Read the packages. They are just pulling your leg (joking).
Other Answers:
Your research is correct! They are unfamiliar in hot dogs! They are used for bait for fishing!
Well, if you work out the cost of earthworms per pound, it would come to about 8 to 10 dollars per pound. Any businesswoman of hot dogs would have to be crazy to wages that much for a raw ingredient of hot dogs. In incorporation to the meat block, they also have to donate spices, flavorings, preservatives, and cook them too.
It would (and is) much cheaper to use beef, pork, or poultry trim to make hot dogs!
I hold seen literally millions of hot dogs produced and not a soul has ever to my comprehension put an earthworm in any of them.
What does it mingy to be "long" next to a stock?
Question:I think it medium you own the stock but why would it be termed 'long'?Answers:
Buying long:
You buy the stock (and own it) beside the expectation it will rise in price, so you can market the shares at a profit.
(Shorting a stock is the opposite - you borrow shares from your broker and supply them, and hope the price falls. Then you buy cheaper shares on the market and repay your broker next to the newly-acquired shares to settle the transaction. Your profit is the difference between the sales price of the inspired borrowed shares, and your purchase price of the repaid shares. Not for amateurs - you can lose a lot money if the price doesn't crash in the timeframe you necessitate to repay your broker.)
Other Answers:
Yes, it does mean that you own the stock. This is the different of being "short" the stock. Which routine that you've "borrowed" the stock from the broker/dealer and sold it on the open flea market. At some point you will have to "buy" the borrowed stock to settle up. The hope is that you "buy" it for smaller amount than you sold it previously.
If you own a car, you are "long" a motor. If you borrowed money to buy the car, you are "leveraged," worth, if you crash the car w/o insurance, you will finish up owing more on the car than you rewarded with bread up front.
This is the same as buying stock on side-line. You can leverage your postion up to 2:1, buying twice as much stock with like peas in a pod amount of money. That's called 50% edge.
With an investment though, you are long if you are betting on the price going up, and you are short if you are betting on the price going down. You really don't need to verbs about the mechanics of how that's done, because your broker take care of the details.
So in a minute, if someone asks you if you have any investments, you can voice sure, "I'm short 100 shares Yahoo, and I'm long 100 shares of G00GLE." Now, you're uptown, really sophisticated.
The CORRECT answer to your question is - To be LONG on a stock method you will hold onto it LONG TERM. Investors who say they are LONG on a stock, believe that the price will verbs to go up contained by the LONG term, despite any short possession setbacks.

1. obtain life insurance on the two of us and store up drizzling day money contained by excess of three thousand dollars in a money open market account (so to some extent than sit at the bank, we could gain a little bread from it)
2. start a low risk mutual fund for our house money (means we won't get severely much, but we will get something)
3. a big risk mutual fund for retirement and college for my son (high risk because we have plenty of years to work bad losses)

IS here anyway to know if a companies stock will rise??
Question:Also can you tell me how a company profits from stocks?Answers:
No, at hand certainly isn't any passageway to "know." The future is other uncertain.
But near are lots of things you can "know" to do when a certain price is hit, or at price level such as support and resistance. All we can do is increase our odds somewhat, and manage our risk, and use well-mannered money management. We can increase our probability substantially by following the trend. For example, why would you own a stock, or any investment, that you know is decreasing in convenience and that you "know" is going to continue to cutback in importance?
No amount of hoping or fear or "predicting" will rework the fact that the marketplace has a mind of its own, and will do what it's going to do, regardless of what we do. It will rise and it will decline.

Stock prices rise when stocks are reverse split.
Companies make money on stocks by selling them to the public. a companies stock should be bought next to the expectation that the company will do good contained by the future. you should not buy soley on what it did surrounded by the past. You should not go and get caught up and buy when the stock have jumped up. the best course to know if a company will go up is to grasp to know the company. get a few of them and really find interested in what they do here competitors. you will eventually get a fear on what the company will do in the adjectives. that is the best approach to invest.
The company doesnt technically make money from stocks. when the company sell stocks that they are holding they have to own a value of what the stock is. sometimes it is as little as a dollar. any money that you pay envelope the company in increase to that is an equity explanation in the company. that money contained by essence becomes stockholder money. it is call paid surrounded by addition to funds I think they profit from have greater capital from the mart of their stocks.
I don't really know, I went to art institution, I could draw you a nice flower though. There is no way to know - surrounded by absolute language - if a company's stock will rise. You can only do your best to predict base on earnings, projections, and press releases related to the company's operation.
The only bearing a company actually profits from from stocks is impossible to tell apart way you and I would profit from its stocks - it buys when it feel its stocks are undervalued and sell at a profit. The stock price has no genuine bearing on a company's returns. The only time a company receive capital from stock is when it issues modern shares - most companies do this only once contained by its "Initial Public Offering" or IPO. This is what is commonly refered to as 'going public'. No. You can't know it. You have to hold guessing. Some guesses are better than others, but none work 100% of the time.
As to "how a company profits from stocks", most of the time it doesn't. Having your stock publicly traded can help you put up for sale more of it if necessary. Also, in our time sophisticated lenders use the company's stock volatility as input for pricing credit to the company.

The stock is individual worth 3 1/2 cents...Might as well hold onto it. You don't hold much to lose at this point. Just my opinion. I'd stay away from over the counter/bulletin board stocks. They are strong to sell because they typically don't enjoy alot of trading volume. The volume is up on this particular stock right very soon. Probably because they got a exclusive rights approved on the 13th. But the price doesn't seem to be moving up beside the volume. So once the buying interest goes away, the price will probably drop. I would try to bring back out around the price you bought at and not lose too much.
they owe 10 million dollars in current liability and they have simply 1 million dollars in current assets. this is not a devout ratio. in the first quarter they lost over 700K and they enjoy averaged a 300k loss each quarter for yesteryear three. they have a refusal retained earnings of over 40 million. this is not a stock to be exact gpoing to pull itself out of a in one piece for a while so i would say that this is not a hold stock. i would trade when i had the fate.

Do brokerage firms hold any time restrictions when distributing a retirement reason?
Question:If you submit a request to a brokerage firm to distribute your IRA, are they required to provide the funds within any specific time? I own been messing around near Ameritrade for 3 weeks now. They estimate it will be another 3 to 7 days up to that time they can transfer the funds to my hill account. Does the FTC regulate this thing?Answers:
Three weeks IS crazy. Unless the security you sold have some liquidity provisions, trade settlement is T+3. Which is the trade date, plus 3 business days. Check should be cut the next time (2 days max). I work in the business, and do this type of item all the time.
Other Answers:
A lot of it depends on what your funds are invested contained by. It takes time to liquidate the funds to currency and then to find the check issued. 3 weeks is not unheard of. (I work for a financial planner)
I'm not sure if there are time precincts, but it really doesn't matter, because if they want to get your life difficult, they can other come up with paperwork for you to do. My experiences near Ameritrade have be outstanding, however. And three weeks is simply NOT a long time for this type of thing. I have one account next to Charles Schwab that took 2 years to sort out. Do you know what is holding it up? Did you fill out the paperwork correctly the first time?

long possession CD's
You purchase unrated (junk) bonds and take your likelihood. They have the best rates of interest, but higher rate of loss to dance with it. If you want to tie it up, later get a disc (visit bankrate.com for best choices). Savings? Please.
for a gurantee CD if you own a good amount of money, nest egg account doesn't comfort you at all. But if you want to pocket a risk you can try the stock market.
long language cd. i saw it around 5.2% for 1 or 2 years couple days ago. which is pretty good. bank and saving single give you mid to low 4%.
It depends how much you invest on what return you will attain. On a CD a standard rate is in the region of 3-5%. If you're looking for more, then I would unambiguously lean towards a money market/savings account. You can go and get a lot better than 5% depending on how much you invest and what rates the bank have. Ask them for some literature up front.
Typically the higher the amount of risk you are feeling like to take, the difficult the potential return on an investment. Given that you have pointed to CDs and stash, it would appear that you are targeting lower risk, and in consequence lower return, investment opportunities.
In this category, you will typically procure a higher return if you are liable to "lock up" your money for a period of time. Therefore 6 month CDs (you can't obtain access to your money for 6 months) will have a highly developed return than 3 month CDs.
If you are in a relatively high-ranking tax bracket you should look at Municipal Bonds - they hold the advantage that the interest received is excise free.
If you have a Citibank vindication, or are interested in first night one, they have a modern promotion that returns 4.5% on their e-savings account. Easily the best return on a nest egg account that I own seen.
6 mo T-bills. Safe and free from local taxes. You can't lick that.

I have a bunch of the Singapore Lunar New Year collections but I don't intend to trade them. But if one has to be chosen, I'll find out which have a higher emergency and how many pieces are sold for respectively kind. This will determine the exclusivity of it (how plentiful % of the population owns it) and thus influence the price.
