I would close to to invest surrounded by stocks using ameritade. any tips?

Question:
I have be watching a stock for 4 years, and it goes surrounded by dips of 23.90 all the road up to 30.45 with the majority of the dips low $24 to low $26. I own about $2500 to play beside. is it worthwhile for me to use ameritrade to make gain of 1 or 2 dollars per share? Or would the fees devour up my small gains? I enjoy never bought stock before but I am confident I can bring in gains of $1.00 to $2.00 per share but I can single afford 100 shares. I would be buying when in a downswing and selling for more. The swings come to pass once or twice a month, So I would probably be having gain of 100 to 400 a month.

Answers:
Find another broker!
if you already have a system and your assets is small, i think you should use option instead of stocks.
Use Firstrade. It's the number 1 online broker according to Consumer reports. I have an portrayal there.
Certainly, some traders do get a living doing that. Some also have gone broke attempting to do so. My personal experience on one stock might supply you an idea of what might take place. I did swing trades on a particular stock around 5 years ago and made several hunderd on each swing. Then something happen to the stock. As it peaked out and I sold, it did not go posterior down again. Instead it kept right on going up. So instead of making what would have be a very hefty profit long permanent status, I make a couple of thousand short permanent status on which I had to wages full taxes. That experience cured me. Besides I hate paying taxes.
I reflect on you a re a little up in your resources to time the market. You are suggesting you could brand name 50% to 200% retun per year. what stock is so predictable?
Check out several brokers fees and do the math. If a fee is $10/ trade and you put together 24 trades a year that is $240, which surrounded by the real world would feasible chew up any returns. You are contemplating day trading which at some point is possible to make you rich written and then fashion you broke for real.

What is the time frame for buying final stocks after short selling?

Question:
In other words, how long can it be to buy back stocks after short selling a stock? Can you short supply any high stock and dawdle for the next presidential see to buy back?

Answers:
You are subject to a timeframe on the short Dutch auction but it's a financial one not a regulatory one. When you short a stock you borrow it from the broker and you have to payment margin interest on that borrowed amount.

Margin interest is not other until you get into huge balance (but big balances are still a clothed amount of money) for long term purchases. You could counter the short with long call but that costs something also (commission+premium).

Eventually if you are short long enough the potential gain will be balance by the actual loss on margin interest or way out comissions and premium. Depending on the amounts and term you'll own to do the math. The most you can gain on a short is the sale price adjectives the way to nil but the upside risks are virtually unlimited so be careful beside speculative issues.
There is no time frame. Just like you can buy and hold a stock forever, you can short a stock lacking buying it back forever.

EDIT: Regarding interest, my broker just charges interest if you sold short and then the stock go up. If you sold short and the stock is down, they do not charge you interest.
Keep it sold short as long as you want, But of course you will salary broker interest for all the time you are short sold and you wioll own to meet margine call anytime the stock rises above your sellpoint.
The timing for different stocks is different. Check http://stocksalad.com which analyzes lots of data and shows a schedule of overvalued and undervalued stocks plus the timing of the trend.
No time frame..depends on how much risk you're inclined to take.

If the stock starts to turn up in an hour after you shorted and your risk is low, you might start buying right away.

So, once you start shorting, follow the stock and analyze trends and the word. On the first good communication, but it back or you lose your shirt.

hope that help.

Bob.

Investing $5000: ETFs or index fund?

Question:
I'm making a fairly hulking amount of money at my internship this summer and I want to start investing some of it. This would be somewhere around a 3 year(minimum)time frame, and adding individual 1 or 2 times a year. I've got my option narrowed down to either ETFs or index funds. For an index fund I'm thinking something similar to VTSMX, and for ETF I'm thinking VTI or similar. My only concern is that I can one and only afford to purchase one index fund; whereas, I could purchase multiple ETFs. I would really like to take some exposure to foreign markets. I can do this through ETFs since I can purchase more than one, but not near index funds because I don't have adequate to cover the minimum initial deposit for more than one fund. Also, I realize I will encounter brokerage fees with ETFs but this is a buy and hold and I won't be trading them. Vanguard charges an annual report fee of $20 per year for every fund vindication under $10K, so fees could in actual fact be more expensive for the index fund. Any suggestions?

Answers:
I would choose index funds.
No transaction costs.
No dividend reinvestment costs.
No temptation to trade.
The $20 a year levy is a motivation to get to 10K.
Vanguard is a great place to invest, however Excelsior funds may be rather better for a person surrounded by your shoes.
I would recommend ETF's for emerging markets solely base on the fact that the US discount is slowing for the short-term horizon

How can I subscribe to an IPO?

Question:
With so much hype around the BlackStone IPO, I was wondering how I could buy shares of an IPO back they start being trading on the flea market. I remember the G00GLE IPO being priced surrounded by the 80s and as soon as trading started it's price jumped to roughly speaking $108 or so. Similarly BlackStone's priced at $31 but the as soon as the market open the price might change. How could I own gotten it for $31?

Answers:
You can't.

IPOs are structured so that demand exceeds supply to generate price support surrounded by the secondary bazaar. Shares are allocated to the underwriters' best clients.

Technically speaking, you must have a brokerage picture with an underwriter. You next ask for an XX number of shares to be allocated but your chances of getting any are virtually nil unless you have done millions surrounded by business with the firm.

In an stale chance you do grasp an allocation, it means in attendance is not enough emergency and your stock will probably sink when it opens.
It depends. For example, etrade handle about 2-3 IPOs a month but you can't a moment ago pick from all the upcoming IPOs. You would entail access to a broker that can buy from the underwriter. If you REALLY want it, I think you can find somewhere to buy at the IPO price. Generally, IPOs are overrated for the average investor. I be able to buy oodles IPOs via Etrade but had little luck. They frown upon "flipping" (selling quickly) but I surmise if I did that, I would have made money. I mostly lost near IPOs. I think nearby is a tendency for IPO to become popular right after a spree of angelic ones but then it is too behind. It's like in attendance are bull markets of IPOs.
As the others hold suggested, once you can get access to an IPO as a retail investor it's lost the big gain or was a poor price to start next to. The reason is that they are offered first to really thriving people and fund manager, also called "endorsed investors". If these guys, who generally although by no ability exclusively, know what they are doing - hence they are rich, don't want it then you and I can buy it.

Of course reporters will keep our nose pressed up against the sweet store window by recitation us the insider buying price and the retail sales price but I'm afraid that if you can buy it at an "insider" price not adequate smart people want it so you shouldn't any.

The solution is to get $1M of assets outside of your crucial residence or earn $200K p.a for 3 years and then you can apply as as Accredited investor.

Look up Robert Kiyosaki and read some of his books he expains it adjectives brilliantly.
you have to enjoy a buy order contained by for x amount and if you get it righteous if not to bad---if it's starting at 31 you might want to put an direct in at a dollar amount a bit higher, but not difficult than you think the stock will dance
IPOs can literally change overnight, usually within a tailspin. Be on your toes.

What is a well brought-up long residence stock or stocks, that I can invest contained by for my family circle?

Question:
I am looking for a good long permanent status stock or stocks to invest in, that will gain a large amount of profit in 5 - 15 years.

Answers:
Oil company stocks, from the majors, or grease service companies. Look at ConocoPhillips or BakerHughes.

IBM is one of the technology stocks that are like some pharmaceuticals, they own a rich pipeline of technology in the works. IBM is a principal player and pioneer in nanotechnology, that and they enjoy this consortium with Sony and Toshiba that will be putting out personal computers beside processing capacities that will blow the doors bad of current computers (which is why IBM was cheery to unload the old tech computers onto Lenovo, the Chinese computer maker--and sort of hinted at it contained by a TV ad).

Brokerages and banks and insurance companies are big right immediately, but there are boundaries and strong potential problems ahead. Construction, not housing but industrial stuff, is big right now, but they come contained by frequent feast and famine cycles.

I do know this, if I have kept my Phillips Petroleum stock from back when I worked here, my retirement prospects would have be considerably brighter today and ConocoPhillips still is comparatively undervalued surrounded by relation to its peers. It has a resolved overseas risk (just lost some to Venezula, and has a piece of something contained by far eastern Russia) but it also has big reserves in the US for when the broader world grows more uncertain. I know they have extensive colloquial gas reserves because I worked on a pipeline for a while. Lots of bright and innovative people near. Worth a look.
Personally I suggest you go verbalize to a financial planner and not rely on something as a general forum close to this one here. Especially if your trying to plan your financial future of your familial.
I have a road to invest only $55 a month, and inside a couple of years be making a few thousand a month return. Check it out at: www.myberrytree.com/bt53020
There is no way you can identify virtuous "long term" stocks in finance. Stocks live and die by quarterly earnings so you enjoy to monitor them regularly. Some will run for a few quarters, others may run for years.

If you want a relatively verbs free investment - pick an equity income mutual fund or CEF and put them on DRIP.

Personally I like UTF and DVM - monthly dividends, 6% verbs, a discount to NAV. UTF invests in utilities and REITS that are not imagined to go out of business, DVM invests surrounded by stocks of companies that raise dividends. Companies that lift up dividends are generally doing capably.

If you enjoy stock trading, consider:

http://www.tradingzoom.com/ or

http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/tr...
What you are really looking for is an agressive mutual fund.

Looking forward, your best bet is to pick a honest long term mutual fund (not stock) that you can invest surrounded by, and gain a great deal of profit within 5-15 years.

Mutual funds are a group of diverse stocks and bonds which combine to gain strength together.

Choosing only one stock is not a obedient idea because not a soul can predict future results base on any past implementation.
It's a very big topic and too big for this forum.

But here's a starting place or two:

http://finance.yahoo.com/retirement/arti...
http://money.cnn.com/data/commentary/siv...
http://news.morningstar.com/articlenet/a...
http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=fairx...
Here's a strategy I resembling:

Take 2/3 of your investment money and put it into either the DIA or SPY ETFs. Leave the other 1/3 of your investment article in currency.

Pick a trade point delta value, any in jargon of a percentage or in a fixed dollar amount.

Each time the ETF share price go up by that delta value, flog 20% of the value of your current holdings.

Each time the ETF share price go down by that delta value, buy stock beside 20% of your cash.

Example: you buy SPY at $150 and set a delta point at $5. When the shares move about to $155, you sell 20% of the attraction of your current holding. When it goes to $160, you go another 20% of the THEN current holding. When it goes hindmost to $155, you buy shares back beside 20% of your cash. When it go back to $160, you go 20% of your THEN holding. When it goes to $165, you vend another 20% of the value of your current holding.

What happen is you're making a series of short trades around a security that historically rises over time. You never fully liquidate your position, but you support profits along the way by selling shares as the price rises, and you buy pay for shares at a discount when the price falls.

I want to supply some coins?

Question:
i have mercermy dime N some few coins that are from the 1900s...is here a web site where on earth i can know how much they wroth N where 2 deal in them at?

Answers:
yes.

The prices quoted on this site are a little on the dignified side, maybe 20% but it will tender you and idea.

http://www.pcgs.com/prices/index.chtml...

The place to market them is on ebay. If they are common date mercuries, put on the market them by the roll. If they are scarcer dates detail them individually. You can also check the realized prices on Ebay for the ones you craving to sell and compare the prices against those quoted within the above reference.
If you want an accurate price you enjoy to grade the coin.

I own a coin magazine called coin prices it give 8 grades for a mercury head dime. From g-4 to proof. The greater the grade the more it is worth. The efficacy is also determined by age and how many be minted.

Go to a magazine stand and either browze or buy coin prices magazine..The prices on the network are hard to determine because you can't truly see the coin in soul.

O me deto!
It does not matter what a site say its worth, list it on Ebay and you will find out what inhabitants are willing to pay cheque, that is what is is truly worth.
The mercury dime is worth in the region of 80 cents. The other coins are worth about a nickel apiece. You will probably do better selling them surrounded by a bar than if you try to trade them to someone who collects coins.
e bay might hold prices

Any francswiss investor out nearby? What you deduce why the website hasn't be available since yesterday?

Is this an indicator that francswiss is running away earlier than expected? I am an investor too and I know that it's a huge risk but I never expected that this benevolent of problem would occur this soon. Your instant and honest answer is indeed a great help.

Answers:
A High Yield Investment Program, or HYIP, is a type of pyramid organization normally offered via the Internet. HYIPs typically adopt deposits as low as $1 while promising astoundingly high returns..
Online High Yield Invetment Program now and then last for the long residence. Overwhelming number of cases suggest that HYIPs are Ponzi schemes, contained by which new investors provide the dosh to pay a profit to existing investors, which they typically consequently withdraw. This approach allows the scam to verbs as long as new investors are found and/or ancient investors leave their money within the scheme, specified as compounding (because even higher profits are promised).

The introduction of e-currencies have made it possible for a High Yield Investment Program to operate on the internet and cross international boundaries, and to accept voluminous numbers of small investments. A High Yield Investment Program usually accept deposits by any e-currency, like e-gold, e-bullion and INTGold, or use specialist third carnival payment processors resembling AlertPay, SolidTrustPay, CEPTrust, TriStarMoneyChangers and StormPay. HYIPs typically offer a significant incentive commission (for example, 9% of invested funds) for member to attract and refer new investors.

A High Yield Investmet Program discloses little or no detail roughly the underlying management, location, or other aspects of how money is to be invested, and relatively little information (other than asserting that they do different types of trading on various stock and other exchanges) on how they in fact generate the returns they purport. They are sometimes presented with some form of an ardent appeal, appeals for faith, and promises that they will assistance investors achieve financial freedom.
Pay attention, Anyone aphorism they will get you a rate of return superior than 8% PER YEAR is a liar.

So if your Francswiss, promised you more than this, kiss your money goodbye, because you enjoy been scammed.

I understand that near is a chance that this would not be possible but; if it is, could someone explain? If not what are some really suitable companys to deal near online as to fees?

Answers:
try:

www.zecco.com (apparently the first 40 trades/mo are free)
www.tradeking.com (I use it, $5/trade and lower margin fees)

sort sure you read the fine print before you overt an account.
You should try an online trading article. Commissions on trades generally run anywhere from $8- $12. The most adjectives ones are Ameritrade, E-Trade, Charles Schwab, and I think even Wells Fargo have a pretty good one.
whats your definition of big? it is a competitive market. you hold to do the research. i use charles schwab due to trust.
Yes, without doing research, I can remember seeing I have an idea that , bank of america offering something similar to that... also usaa insurance company I believe does that.. shop around, you can find most anything you are looking for.
If you have $600 a month to invest... wow! You should reflect about research more about stock and bond investments and unfurl yourself one of those online accounts like . hmmmm who are they? shoot.. some exceedingly good, firm investment companys enjoy web sites. Go by the rule of thumb by age and try to capture yourself set up now within the percentages of stash, stocks, bonds, etc you should be into at the age you are. here is a good intermingle to get you started.
http://www.stocksandmutualfunds.com/brok...
Some companies own Direct Purchase Plans. You dont need a broker.
Sharebuilder.com can accomplish that for you near very low fees. I would check into that but for $4 or so per transaction it's a pretty honourable deal.
