How Do I Take Advantage of Stock Options From My Last Job?
Question:
I received stock options at my later job and within July they are supposed to "vest". Problem is, I don;t work there anymore and I am out of contact beside them. I have the signed document from the CEO and CFO granting me the publicly traded option, but I just don't know what to do beside it now. Obviously, this is my first time next to this sort of thing.
Could anyone dispense me an idea as to what I can/should do beside this document?
Answers:
There is often confusion between publicly traded option, which you buy on the secondary souk at a price and represent the right to buy shares at a set price until a certain time of time, and options which are granted to personnel. It sounds like you own the latter.
Most employee stock option terminate if the hand ceases working prior to the date that the option vest. There are a limited number of exceptions, including if the motivation that you no longer work there is that you be fired after a merger or sale of the company and you be not fired for cause and your alternative plan and option hold what is commonly known as a "double trigger."
What I'd do is phone your old company and ask to speak to the stock plan command department and ask whether your options vest even though you no longer work here. Its pretty unlikely though -- I've seen literally hundreds of stock plans within my working career and I've never see one that allows someone who leaves the company to have their option vest some period after departure unless its in nouns with a transfer in control or its a specially negotiate package beside a high even or important hire. I'm sorry -- I hope I'm wrong and that they do.
If you don't trust your ancient company, you could also ask a friend of yours who is a corporate lawyer to look at the document.

Search using www.yahoo.com/search!
Generally, if you weren't vested at the time your employment cease, then you don't hold those options - you lose them. So I'm puzzled by the information you give concerning public options - did they convert them for you?
If you enjoy options to buy stock, you can any exercise the option (in which casing you first have to find the money to remuneration for the stock at the option price) or you can freshly let them run out - surrounded by which case, they cost you nought.
In the case of hand stock options, most companies own an arrangement where you can supply sufficient stock to cover the price of purchasing the whole way out - this allows you without using any lolly walk away near some of the shares, if you want to hold them longer.

How to catch started investing surrounded by authentic estate to flip homes?
Question:
im looking for a mentor in indisputable estate that can advise me on the ups and downs of flipping homes.
Answers:
You ever hear the saying "when the student is in position the master will appear", well its a bunch of bull.
I be looking for a mentor when I first got started near this, but the only "mentor" that be forthcoming were diverse books on the subject. I'd suggest just reading and reading different books - don't purloin any of the classes hyped on late darkness tv, as they are way to expensive and no better (often much worse) than what you can receive from a book. Then go grasp a real estate license - you really gotta own this to get access to the info on what houses are worth, and to be capable of flip them with no (no at lowest less) commissions.
Then when you are ready and deduce you have foudn the right place, travel ahead and start putting in contracts. The rule I used be that for every 10 bids I put in I would in actual fact end up beside one place. If I was leading more than 1 in 10 I be bidding to high (but this may come and go depending on the market and such - if you find the right place at a fantastic price, progress ahead and bid full price - if you don't someone else will).
Expect to make mistakes on the first few, only make sure near are fewer mistakes on respectively subsequent one and the mistakes cost you less.
So, merely go out and do this yourself. Forget going on for finding a mentor, its up to you to make this take place, and I'd suggest staying away from partners too - that on the odd occasion works out as well.
Good luck.
The material estate industry is swiftly losing business, so I don't know if that's the best place to invest your money right now. And I attribute a small member of the problem to house flippers who take affordable homes, and turn them into properties that merely a small segment of the population can afford.
