What exactly is the Dow?

Question:
im writing a paper on the dow jones industrial average...

Answers:
The Dow Jones Industrial Average, the most acknowledged stock marketplace index in the world, is a collection of thirty of the most lucrative industrial stocks on the current flea market that each represent an industry. The "Dow" or (DJIA) is also perceived to be a process of showing how the American economy is doing as a unharmed. When someone hears the “Dow is up,” they assume the American reduction overall is doing well.

On May 26, 1896 the Dow Industrial Average be first published by its founder Charles Dow. The first Index was composed of twelve fluid and highly capitalized stocks, most railways tabled on the NYSE. In 1916 the Dow grew to twenty stocks and most recently grew again to thirty stocks contained by 1928. Eighty years later the number of stocks is still thirty and companies such as General Electric who be one of the original twelve are still on the index today.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is a small collection of powerful stocks that paints an prominent picture of the American economy, which a majority of the world depends on on a daily basis. A list of companies on the Dow Jones Industrial Average contained by its entirety is as follows:
3M, Alcoa, Altria Group, American Express, American International Group, AT&T, Boeing, Caterpillar, Citigroup, Coca Cola, Dupont, Exxon Mobil, General Electric, General Motors, Home Depot, Honeywell, Intel, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, JP Morgan Chase, McDonald's, Merck, Microsoft, Pfizer, Proctor & Gamble, United Technologies Corporation, Verizon Communications, Wal-Mart, and Walt Disney.
Listen to the guy above. One more ineresting point is that the S&P 500 gained more popularity than the Dow (as far as souk indices go because those that own the Dow did not preference to license out its use for a long time.
Here's a link that tell all give or take a few it...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/dow_jones_i...
Although the first answer is good information on the Dow, be wary to give it too much credibility. When the Dow first come out it did give you a righteous barometer for how the market and the cutback were doing. But since our discount and the number of listed stocks have grown, it's not the best indicator in my judgment. In addition, the Dow is a price weighted index. This way that stocks with a better price have more impact on how much the index moves. A much better index to follow if you are looking to gage the cutback would be the S&P 500 or the Wilshire 5000. These are also market-cap weighted indexes which means the larger the company, the larger impact it have on the movement of the index.

How are futures traded?

Question:

Answers:
As the name imply 'futures' in trading platform system a trading contract to be executed at a future agreed date at an agreed price and within case of materials at specif location.
Market maker like CBOT, NYMEX, EUREX, SIMEX, HKFE, OSE, etc. create an assortment of products for future traders which could be traded on their platform.
For example CBOT or Chicago Board of Trade have trading products like soybean, wheat, corn, Dow Jones $10, Dow Jones $25 and plentiful other products which could be traded by a future trader on strip through the arrangement by their trading brokers. Some of the platform providing scope for trading metals similar to copper, nickel, sliver, gold, etc. Some platform providing risk to trade oil, rubber, etc. Virtually nearby are numerous products including financial instruments, those could be traded as future contract.
To explain procedure of adjectives trading - a future traders longs (buys) or shorts (sells) a adjectives contract through trading platform depending on his best judgment of the price for that derivative, product or instrument.
For example a trader looking at price of grease at $77 a barrel today feel is too high and going to tumble in two months time. so he shorts grease future contract for the month of September. If his foresight is correct and grease price falls say to $ 67 later he makes a profit of $10 per number of adjectives contract he was holding.
Brokers will hold designated amount of collateral amount from trader for every instigate future positions which is generally a fraction of actual price of the commodity or instrument. During the course of contract period if the trader wishes to hold the position till closing of the contract if the price of adjectives contract moves in disparate direction then his holding position, the broker would ask the trader to top up his collateral brass amount to maintain the minimum fringe requirement for the contract.
All future contact for commodities are as a rule specified for a certain location and on completion of the contract the trader is supposed physically deliver (in travel case of shorting or selling) or take physically transport (in case of longing or buying) of the materials at the stated location.
Above is practically unworkable in most cases and traders are competent to settle the price differences through their brokers. In case the traders outlook was correct and he gain he could get stern equivalent amount in money, contained by case it is divergent he has to rate the money to offset price difference. Brokers have some commission charges for future trades.

It depends on how long you want to invest for. Bank bonds, lolly management accounts are correct for the short term (3 - 12 months). But if you are looking over a longer term, say 10 years, shares and manage funds are the best for high let go returns. Your bank should enjoy financial products to assist with these. I would defiantely invest it. Put it into your health and into something that make more money.

CD accounts or stocks. I would hold a professional manage it for you. If the times look resembling they are getting rough due to dollar decline then turn that into GOLD BABY !!
Run away
Mutual Fund or fixed deposit
wage off ALL debt, fix anything that be broken, put the rest in any high-yield savings rationalization or in a mutual fund that i ponder could earn more. then retire hasty
I think Apple stock is correct right about very soon. Turn that mill into two mill eventually.
mutual fund, variable annuity
i would invest 95% of the money surrounded by few good stocks. some stocks can build you 10 % or more profit if they are doing very apposite and for the other 50,000 i would have to pay envelope my house bills and morgage and school loans and a moment or two shopping spree
300,000- house
25,000-sedan
25,000-suv
150,000-charity
500,000-bonds, CD's, and IRA
First - Pay off my credit card and student loan debt.
Second - Build a house.
Third - Donate $7,000 to animal rights associations.
Fourth - Invest the rest within mutual funds and an IRA.
Lots of things. I want to donate part of it (maybe 40 percent) to charity. Alternatively, I want to invest within shares and funds. They give me sophisticated returns as compared to investing in treasury bonds
As the mutual funds are designed by investment companies to buy shares surrounded by different stocks and other securities, the mutual fund investor along with their ownership of shares of the mutual fund, hold a restricted claim to ownership on few of the securities held by the mutual fund. Besides mutual funds provide the dual advantages of diversification and professional money management services to be in command of the money invested in the fund.

Shareholders can buy more shares or put up for sale the shares they own whenever they wish. But these transactions should be carried out thinly since the prices of the shares vary on a daily basis and can significantly affect your profits.

How are stock option traded?

Question:

Answers:
In the same method a toy store may issue a rain-check for a product at a certain price for a reliable period of time a company timetabled in the stock open market may issue an option. A toy store issues a rain-check because a product is temporarily sold out. A company planned on the market sell options to buyers who would to some extent spend little money to reserve an amount of stock at a certain price surrounded by case the stock price drops. If the price of the stock increases consequently the buyer still has the ticket guaranteeing his right to a certain amount of shares that he or she can buy and right now sell for a profit.

For example, permit us say that the timetabled price for stock ZZZ is currently $300 per share and I would like to invest within the company, however, I do not feel completely protected investing such a large amount in need any security. So I resolve to buy a call way out which guarantees me 100 shares at the current listed price of $300 for 1 month. Two weeks after I purchase the preference ZZZ's price has increased to $450. If I looked-for to "exercise" my option I would purchase my 100 shares for $300 and without beating about the bush sell for a %50 profit! Perhaps, the stock be still expected to keep prospering and I feel exercising my option would be an adjectives decision. I could trade my prospect to someone who is willing to reward more for the option than the current exercising worth.

Trading option is a practice whose popularity is rapidly growing due to the simplicity of `its concept and how surprisingly rewarding it can be. Not to mention it also give a great feeling of financial guarantee.

Good things are scheduled again at Wal-Mart the company, and if the CEO's (Scott) head rolls, angelic things should happen next to Wal-Mart the stock.

WMT has be cycling betwee 45 and 50 for the last 3 years and if they quit building more stores and refurbish the older one's, this will bring back customers.
..
Wal-Mart is within the process of buying back approximately 7% of its stock, which contained by theory will create the stock worth 7% more. Of course its not always that simple but it will relieve. If you can buy the stock for a discount it would be a great deal.
because you are an member of staff you have the resort of buying it through their espp (employment purchase plan) meaning every paycheck you capture money taken out (before taxes) and its set aside until once a quarter you can purchase it minus (on average) 15% of the closing price for that day. Where could i exchange my Iraqi dinars?

Question:

Answers:
Until the World Bank declares an international exchange rate for the clean Iraqi currency (isued Oct 2003), the only place you can exchange the bills are surrounded by Iraq itself.

I would hold on to those bills. Rumors in Washington own the World Bank possibly establishing an international exchange rate after the first of the year, to spur international investment into Iraq, and bolster the country's ability to bolster their infrastructure and firm up the different governments position.

This would be a plus for the Bush Administration and Republican hopefuls, something Bush Jr is putting pressure to come about via the State Department

If they do a simple exchange of 1 cent to every Iraqi Dinar, then one 25,000 dinar transcribe will be worth $250.

I own in excess of 100 Million Iraqi Dinar. I used to work for a company that offered its member 1 million dinar for $800. I used to trade half my bonuses and such for dinar.

The average arab dinar is $4 per dinar within the Middle east. When the Kuwait deal go through - their dinar went from $3.90 to 10 cents per dinar after we ejected Saddam. It have grown to $3.39 per dinar now.

So - if the World Bank does set at most minuscule 1 cent per dinar - I know I stand to make over $1 million.
