OK, if it WAS Compaq, they got taken over by Hewlett Packard a few years put a bet on, but the company should still have a text of it if you contact them. Look up contact info at www.hp.com and contact their Investor Relations office to see if that's the one. If not, unless you get hold of statements from somebody, it's just gonna be luck for you to find out who it is. Did you use a broker to buy the stock? They would still hold a record of what you bought, if you go thru them. Otherwise, you may be out of luck.

Wow.... I would like to know why you haven't have a broker and why you weren't getting statements. I used to work part time for an investment company during college and I know statements come once a month because I used to communication those big ol' things to each and every client of our group..... Check statements that may come contained by the mail. If you don't bring back any, that could mean you lost your money to a shady investor....
