What cause the day-to-day change surrounded by stock prices? Meaning, how does it "progress up 37 cents" etc?

Question:I hear stock prices go up and down everyday. However, I'm imprecise what causes these fluctuations. Can someone relief?

Answers:
It becomes physically worth more because of this:
(This is a really primitive example) Say stock XYZ is woth 1.00 dollars. Joe owns one share of XYZ that he wishes to put on the market. Paul heard that XYZ is coming out beside a really cool new product, and he wishes to invest in the company by buying one share of it. This creates constraint for the stock, so price will increase. Paul agrees to buy his share from Joe for 1.01 dollars. He pays a premium of one cent because he created demand for it, and upon the transaction, that stock is up .01 cents that hours of daylight.
Hope that helps...

Simply speculation on a stocks value base on what the company does or what happens to it. A number of items impose stock prices to change: company yield, investor sentiment, national and international events etc. Best bet is to look for articles on how the stock market works. They should aid you

Fluctuations in a stock price can be cause by a variety of things. Usually on a daily basis fluctations occur due to the constraint of the stock by the market (the buyers). The more the souk wants the stock, the better the price will climb. The more the market does not want the stock, the lower the price will slop. This is the primary factor. Several things cause the constraint for the stock to increase and decrease, approaching press releases, quarterly earnings statements, etc.

it's very simple. if something desperate news or desperate happened near one company, it's stock price goes down Investors are any interested in buying a hard to please stock,or selling it. The buyers offer a bid for the stock and the seller offer to trade at an "asking" price. On a listed stock, e.g., on the New York Stock Exchange, the bidders and askers are brought together through their stock brokers and a price is agreed upon. Now, if within are more buyers than sellers, the bid price, and ultimately the agreed to price, keep getting pushed up. The converse is true if there are more seller than buyers. Thus, the market price, up or down, is determined by the constraint or supply of the stock on a given day.

Either more buyers than seller (price goes up), or more seller than buyers (price goes down). Supply and constraint.

The answer is simple: Supply and Demand

It based on supply and constraint share holders in about to future earn of the X company.

Here is how it works, the company A issue 1,000,000 share at $1 to raise the income for $1million and it is selling at the NYSE. Currently if the company has be making net profit of $200,000 annually, this company is making 20% return.

If the investors (buyer) think that company A will continue to be paid this return for years to come then he is likely to pay more than $1 stock and contained by order to win the stock. If there is more than one buyer after will keep bidding how much they inclined to pay for this stock. If within is more buyers than sellers, next, the stock price will climb up. The stock might go to $1.37

On the other mitt, if investor believe that A company will lose money or can't earn income as much for years to come, then he is predisposed to sell it at lower price. If nearby is a more sellers than buyers, afterwards, the stock price it will come down $0.90.

However, there is equal transaction of buyers and sellers(which is impossibe) next the price might not change at adjectives.

Here is a good connect http://www.moneychimp.com/articles/valuation/stockvalue.htm If the number of shares bought is bigger than the number of shares sold then the price rises.

If the number of shares sold is bigger than the number of shares bought afterwards the price decreases.

If the number of shares sold is exactly alike number of shares bought then the price stays matching (This case is impossible)

MF's are also structured from country to country..so in India they are constitued as Trusts, while contained by the UK they are in the form of OEICs( Open Ended Investment Companies)

What are the 5 best stocks to buy into?

Question:In my economics class we have to "buy" 5 stocks, but I don't really know anything around stocks. So what are the 5 best stocks out there right very soon?

Answers:
First, I am among the best investors globally. My return for the prior five years have been 21% while materially taking smaller amount risk than the average risk in the open market. To substantiate this, I also play a stock market activity that tracks my return, although it is is a link to a simulation not to my solid accounts. See link: http://www.marketocracy.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/Portfolio.woa/ps/FundPublicPage/source=CaHiHdImDlIfEbAoMaKiAbOa

I own also produced an academic rag on the equities markets proving that the assumptions of the Capital Asset Pricing Model and the Black-Scholes Option Pricing Model do not turn out in outlook. Both are central theories of modern nouns. Both are also always invalid to use.

So immediately that you have my testimonial, let me originate to answer your question.

First, rebuke all of the above posts from others. They connote well, but neither they nor I know you.

Second, the answer is subjective against your personal goal. Without knowing your goals, not a soul can answer these questions. I no longer provide professional investment guidance for a living, but if in the adjectives you need proposal I would recommend visiting Edward Jones. They are angelic stock brokers. You will not get the "best" return, but you are credible to reach your personal goal. Since most people really want to conquer their goals, i.e. more than sufficient.

Second, you cannot invest in something you do not realize. It isn't investing, it is gambling.

When you purchase stocks, you are buying an ownership interest contained by a business. If for example, you purchased 1 share of a public utility with 1,000,000 shares, you would be the owner of one one-millionth of everything that the firm owns or earn. You are only entitled to receive it when your elected agents, the company's board of directors, authorize it.

I would strongly recommend reading:

"The Intelligent Investor," by Benjamin Graham.

Also, here are a number of investing books for investigational investors out there. I intuitively find that the "Dummies" series is usually pretty good. If you can lift a personal finance class and an accounting class you will also be much better past its sell-by date. I would also suggest reading wikipedia. It has a few decent articles. (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_finance_topics )

For the purposes of rewarding a professor, the best five stocks will be the five stocks you can justify owning. That money you will need to research the companies directly yourself. The absolution needs to be against anything goals you are trying to accomplish. The point there does not exist five "best stocks," is that nearby exist multiple "best" lists depending upon your desires.

Bank of America, for example, could be in your schedule for some goals, but not for others. Seaboard, could be contained by your list for some goal as well, but not others. For example, they waste pigs by electrocution. If that bothers you ethically, then it is outside your universe, if it doesn't consequently depending upon other personal constraints it may or may not fit your investing needs.

You necessitate five stocks that you can justify from the cause of your subjective needs. This includes ethical and uncontrolled needs as very well as financial.

How do I save track of my stock portfolio ROI?

Question:Can anyone recommend a platform that will graphically/statistically tell me how I am doing YTD. I use MS Money Premium, but as soon as I vend a stock, the program is very quirky and forgets more or less it. I want something, software or web-based that will give me a running division. Thanks in finance!

Answers:
Yahoo! Finance allows you to enter your portfolio. You can enter number of shares, price paid, trade date, etc, and it will automatically update the stock prices throughout the afternoon and show your gain both in $$ and percentage. It will update for stock splits and correct your number of shares. If you update it at the formation of each year, it will pass you a YTD gain/loss figure.

I've tried Quicken and find it impossibly complicated, as all right as expensive. It won't connect to many of my accounts and in need hours of work is never correct. It depends on how many transactions you construct I think, but my biggest problem next to Quicken was that it did not connect to my broker.

Other Answers:
Although near are many pattern based portfolios, which are angelic but limited, Quicken is still the best agency.
