I would close to to suggest getting your CDL and driving a truck. My husband and I do it and I alone make more than double my income from my closing job at which I be at the top of the ladder near my skills. He also makes equal as I do, so together we do OK.
Getting your CDL doesn't require money up front, but does require a commitment to the trucking company who sponsors you, and about 3 weeks time of arts school and no pay. That may not be something you can operate with, but after you procure even 2 months driving over the road (all states) you can begin making apt money.
One final thought is that "good money" to me may not be alike to another here. But for someone who skipped college... making $35,000 on the low end and $55,000 on the mid to giant end isn't unpromising to me. I have be at my company 7 months and drove for the company that trained me 1 month and paid sour my contract with them. I alone take home in the middle of the mount above already and am home every weekend for 2 days.
