What is the best online firm to trade stocks next to (I.E scottstrade, ameritrade, etc) and why?
Question:Answers:
I've used Scottrade and Ameitrade. I prefer Scottrade since their commission is lower, $7 for both market and cut-off date orders. They own 2 offices contained by my city (in case I requirement to go in that in person) and their scottrader is pretty darn flawless for streaming quotes and streaming Dow Jones News. They also have a scottrader special for accounts over $25K which offers advanced logical analysis and level 2 trading (an extra $10/month). There is no deskbound account fees and adjectives you need is $500 to get underway an account. They also volunteer quite a bit of other research such as free S&P reports on companies. One final point is that they offer access to option, bonds, and funds. I took a look at cybertrader.com and it appears they are geared more towards active traders (at smallest 20 trades/month), which may not sound close to a lot but within reality it is unless your an stirring trader. They also offer services surrounded by the futures area, which I've never instinctively used but you may be interested in. You probably obligation to decide what type of trading you want to do (active or occasional) and do you want access to futures, option, bonds, funds, etc. and go from at hand.

etrade, i like etrade.
sharebuilder sucks (high commissions).
TD ameritrade (poor customer service & crappy website)
Personally I have an idea that you should not trade online....I think your best bet is to look up a company name Primerica...I'm sure you're gonna hear alot of bad press in the region of them but honestly, who has a watertight reputation in the financial world? they've done wonders for me--you can receive involved in their business, they can set up investments,Insurance things approaching that...they are awesome.
I have used etrade, ameritrade, schwab, datek, fidelity... they are adjectives garbage. I can't get how people could trade lacking level 2!!
My pick is cybertrader. I enjoy been a customer for 5 years. It's direct access, much faster execution, customer service, and purely on a different playing field than the web-based services. Although it is owned by schwab (unfortunately) it have nothing to do next to schwab or schwab active trader. Go to the website www.cybertrader.com, check it out. The free fly on the wall dot com research make biefing.com look like a class school child. And after a few weeks of doing plane 2 quotes you'll wonder how you traded stocks before appendage...

How would raise interest rate prevent inflation ? Please provide some insight.?
Question:Answers:
With higher interest rates, culture don't buy as many houses and cars. Businesses don't construct as heaps new factory. So, there's not as much need for grease, concrete, steel, labor, etc. Lower demand process lower prices. Or, at least, prices that don't rise as much.
Other Answers:
Low interest rates promote borrowing which surrounded by turn promotes buying more goods and services. Increased purchasing of stock and services reduces the supply of those stock and services which increase their costs. Inflation, by definition is "rate of increase in cost."
High interest rate discourages borrowing and encourage saving. A weakening in borrowing moderate both personal spending and capital spending by businesses and government.
The reduction surrounded by personal spending reduces constraint causing companies to lower prices surrounded by a bid to sell their products. Since the interest cost companies pat on their investment within machinery go on even if the machinery is not producing anything, companies are below pressure to keep selling.
A cutback in personal spending and assets spending creates unemployment reducing wage pressures and lowering inflation. This is a in tears commentary on our economy, but unchecked inflation eventually lead to even higher severance.
Reducing capital spending can hold bad long permanent status effects on productivity, competitiveness and costs.
High interest rates also cause a country's currency to strengthen as investors buy that country's bonds. The stronger currency lowers the cost of import goods, reducing prices.

Top 3 Answerer contained by Business & Finance. (Vote for me) I don't believe that it is strictly forbidden, but many mutual funds do not be in motion with dither funds or short positions. Part of it is this - short-sellers are generally the maverick of the equities world, and the larger mutual funds like to preserve the stock-issuing banks relieved.
Also, there is a ton of risk within a short positions. If you invest long, you put your purchase price at risk. For instance, you buy a share of Yahoo for $100. The most you can lose is $100, if the share loses value.
However, if you short a share of Enron for $1, and the price go, up, you lose $99 if the price jumps to $100.
Now, if you own $100 and buy 100 shares of Enron at $1, then surrounded by the aforementioned scenario, you would lose $9,900, provided you had the $$$ to hold your short position. That's how the risk is realize.
Last, mutual funds diversify their holdings to decrease risk, not give exposure.
