Stock Options as an income source?

Question:Is it possible to use stock options to create a source of minor income?

Answers:
Of course it's possible. If options are constituent of your compensation, it should be easy to suppliment your income contained by this way -- if the stock rises surrounded by value. However, if option are not part of your regular compensation, consequently trying to play options is somewhat difficult and rather risky.

Other Answers:
stock leeway...secondary income vs primary income + stock likelihood + helping people who can't moderately help themselves.
Sure, anything is possible. But depending on how capably you invest, you could end up losing.
You want to read McMillan on Options, see if your local library have it.

The answer is yes, with a 'but'. There's no free lunch. Selling covered call is an investment strategy that works best in a flat to slowly rising souk. In a strong market, you lose much of your potential gain. In a down market, the option help dull your losses.

Yes, but hold on to in mind that you hold to educate yourself greatly well surrounded by order to do something approaching this and that it might take some time and money (depending on how nippy you learn). Definitely can be done, though.

I recommend going to a stock options expert who invests surrounded by it himself/herself.
Yes, but make sure the stocks you bought have a good and a high-ranking demand surrounded by the market.
I suggest you to stay away from option unless you have at most minuscule $100,000.00

The strategy that you are referring to is call Selling Covered Calls. It was popularized surrounded by the late 90's by Wade Cook as a scheme of supplementing your income. Mr Cook made the strategy seem intensely easy and lacking risk. Based upon the fact that his company is in a minute bankrupt and facing countless lawsuits, I would speak he was wrong. The strategy works as follows: You first must enjoy a brokerage account near option trading approval. You later would either buy at least possible 100 shares of a stock or move the shares that you owned previously into the brokerage account. Check yahoo nouns or some other source to make sure that the stock that you are using have option chains assigned to it. Let's read out for example that you buy your 100 shares at $20 per share. You would check the option chains on your stock and find that here are some strike price 25 options that expire 3 months out that hold an ask price of $1.00 per contract. You could then SELL one September 25 Call choice against your 100 shares of stock. By doing this you are saying that sometime between immediately and September, if the stock price reaches 25, you would agree to put on the market your stock for $25 per share. So now you ask, Where's the inferior income? When you sold that one September 25 Call option for $1.00 you received $1.00 for respectively share that you own for a total of $100. This is yours to keep and do anything you want with it. In this scenario, if the stock price did achieve 25 before September you would next sell your stock for a $5.00 per share profit. If the stock price doesn't realize $25 by September, you get to hang on to the $100 that you made and you get to hang on to the stock. You could then trade another call chance against your 100 shares of stock. In theory, you could do this over and over again. I not here out commissions and taxes in my discussion but they would own to be factored into the scenario as well. The strategy can work but in attendance is more risk and work involved than Mr Cook led his reader into believing. Good luck and Be careful.
Buying option sucks as the premium cuts into your profits. Selling options all right in the money is the best strategy and most lucrative.
Take Yahoo. You can go a july 27.50 put for .45.
Lets say you go 10 contracts. You are given $450 and as long as Yahoo stays above $27.5 you get to hang on to it.
Odds are good you'll win that bet. Quick money. Enjoy

What's the best mutual fund?

As a long-time financial executive in the investment area, it is my opinion is that any answer you receive that cites a specific fund is wrong! A proper answer must consider your personal situation, you investment timeframe, your tolerance for risk, etc. My answer is that you should try and determine what fund or funds best fit your specific situation (either individually or by hiring a qualified investment specialist -- not a mutual fund sales person). Check the APY for instance if its 4.00% you would earn $4.00 per $100. APY take into account compounded annual interest.
Not much. Depending on where on earth you live, you might want to try tax lien certificate (not as risky as some people give attention to, in my opinion). Also hold in mind that your currency could devaluate and factor contained by inflation, so maybe positive isn't such a good hypothesis. Other tricks of investing might be more effective.

5%

Keep within mind the inflation estimated for 2006 is 3.5% which means surrounded by reality you merely make 1.5%

What make more sense for a lower-middle class income a traditional IRA or a ROTH IRA?

Question:

Answers:
I agree, A ROTH IRA makes more sense surrounded by a lower-middle class income situation. You don't really need an income charge deduction right presently.

There IS a reason to unstop a traditional ira, however. If you were within a high due bracket, you would be able to lower your reported income by $4,000 this year (or $5,000 if you are over 50 years), thus potentially lowering your excise bracket.

If you have a 401k at work, ask in the order of the brand new ROTH 401k, which puts after levy money into a 401k for you. Again, this would be perfect contained by your situation, since you could put away more than $4,000 (up to $15,000 this year) and the money would come out tax free at retirement, when you could potentially be within a higher tariff bracket.

Other Answers:
If you are going to retire in more than a few years, the Roth IRA make the most sense for EVERYBODY, no matter what your income.

A Roth IRA charges taxes first, and not when you rob out money (after retiring). This is an advantage because you will earn interest on adjectives the money you have save over the years. All that interest, then, is tax-free money when you annul it.

A traditional IRA doesn't tax you when you form a deposit, but taxes you when you make a withdrawl. This funds you are paying a tax on adjectives the interest you have accumulate over the years.

To be honest, I don't see any advantage for pipe a traditional IRA.

non-constant growth stock?

Question:For non-constant growth stock, why are its dividend yield and means gains give up not constant during their non-constant growth period?

Answers:
Sounds approaching their sales are adjectives over the place.

Other Answers:
Sounds like the competition have entered the souk and are wreaking havoc on the stock while establishing themselves.
Growth stocks rarely pay cheque dividends -- so their dividend rate probably would be constant -- at zero.

But let's consider a dividend paying company whose sale are way up one year and afterwards not quite as moral. You might think they would reimburse a huge dividend after the good year. The problem is that the souk expects dividends to go up respectively year -- or at least stay impossible to tell apart. They punish companies that lower dividends. So -- if the company has a virtuous year, they raise dividends to a even tha they think they can sustain. One virtuous year means a small increase, not a big increase for these firms.

Now -- let's look at stock prices. Prices parallel both current returns and future expecte growth. If profits are unknown, the open market will price the stock according to its expectation. If the current value comes contained by higher than the expectation, the price junps up & if it somes within lower, the price drops. This has an cockeyed effect on capital gain.

Is very soon a pious time to buy stock surrounded by grease?

Question:

Answers:
Its always a polite idea to hold oil and dynamism stocks in your portfolio. Its best as an asset allocation. It basically depends on the percentage you should put in your portfolio. I wouldnt put any more than 5-10 percent within it. I dont think immediately is a good time to hold a large percentage of grease in your portfolio. Oil is a business of boom and bust cycles. And I mull over we are about at the fall of this boom part of the cycle. Inventories are going up and drilling is still pretty strong. I muse oil will drop significantly contained by the next few months. The simply thing thats holding it up very soon I believe is politics, and this business with Iran. Once that's over beside I think the price of grease will go down. Although the US doesnt capture any oil from Iran right very soon.

Other Answers:
NO! Just ask G.W. Bush!

Yes! With everything going on in Iran right in a minute especially...

If it gets to the point where on earth the US and the rest of the world have to return with tough with Iran, Iran beside no doubt stop supplying us beside oil. I individually guarantee $100 per barrel inside the next 6 months.

If you own to ask if you should be in futures, you hold no business considering them.

I think nearby is a short-term trade in grease stocks just because they've pulled fund recently, but I conjecture medium-term they are going to rest for a while.
