What is the best industrial charting for stocks?
Question:Answers:
I use Stockwiz for end-of-day trading. It's completely programmable, which is what I wanted, but the programming native tongue is .... primitive.
But it's free.
http://www.stockwiz.com/
Caveat:
- I am still using version 3, although nearby is a version 4 available
- You still call for a service to get your day by day stockquotes, which is most likely *not* free
Other Answers:
I am a financial planner. A lot of planners I know use bigcharts.com for deep-seated charting. However for more technical use, I prefer stockcharts.com.

I use quote tracker (a free program that you can find at quotetracker.com). You do need to return with a live feed to it (if you enjoy a brokerage account you probably enjoy one already). This program will let you chart intraday and historical notes as well as show almost any precise indicator that you can think of.
Is Vanguard LifeStrategy Growth Fund a virtuous 401k alternative?
Question:Answers:
It is a "fund-of-funds" set up to own 80% stocks and 20% bonds. That allocation is more diversified than most funds out there, and diversification contained by long term investing is largely a good article. That said, if you are young and not risk-averse, you could invest contained by more aggressive funds, namely more stock funds, small cap, mid sunhat, and international funds, and probably do better than this fund will LONG TERM.
Talk to a financial advisor you trust.
Good luck!
Other Answers:
It's probably one of the better options available surrounded by your 401(k). 4 stars from Morningstar, extremely low expense ratio, returns that consistently beat the category (large boater blend) and S&P 500 averages.
It's an excellent large boater fund, but you might want to look for something with complex potential returns.

What is the best 401k plan for a long residence investment (30-40 years)?
Question:Answers:
OPM is right. Don't confuse the type of portrayal (401k in this case) near choosing an investment mix. I help businesses design and implement retirement plans and as OPM said, you are set by the plan your employer chooses. That doesn't mean you should put your money elsewhere, especially if your employer provides any munificent of match.
First rule of retirement investing: If your employer is going to endow with you free money, TAKE IT!
If you work for a fairly sizeable and/or sophisticated employer your 401k may have a Self Directed Brokerage way out. If available, this option will allow you to bypass the menu of investment option within the plan beside at least a portion of your assets. Ask your employer for the details on the plan available to you.
Other Answers:
Unless you are the employer and are choosing plans, you don't own much in language of a choice. Your employer chooses your options for you and you pick from those. It afterwards depends upon the options they supply you. For example, even though most people would voice "stocks" the equity options at my prior employer be so poor that you would have lost money consistantly by that choice. It really depends upon what your employer is providing.
Is gold ingots ever going to bounce stern? When?
Question:Answers:
Gold has certainly had a really flawless run recently. Historically speaking gold ingots has returned in the order of the rate of inflation over the last 40 years. So gold ingots will do well, relatively speaking, surrounded by times of inflation. Speculators will buy gold if they consider inflation is coming and drive up the price. So it's sensitive to speculation, as all commodities are. Long possession equities have proven to be a much better purchase.

Should I divide my portfolio up and put the parts contained by different investment firms or bank?
Question:I have a portfolio at a big investment firm. The portfolio itself is pretty diversified. So adjectives my eggs are not in one picnic basket. However, is not having the entire portfolio at one investment firm or Bank loving of like have all your eggs surrounded by one basket? What if this mound goes down? It's a really well prearranged and reputable investment firm but so was Arthur Anderson and they go down.Answers:
The SIPC insures your investments (not the FDIC, or ****, as people hold suggested). Arthur Andersen was a consulting firm. The be a business services firm, nothing else. Other than the owners of Arthuer Andersen, their collapse didn't verbs anyone's assets.
Also, by holding your investments in multiple investment firms, you would plausible expose yourself to more account fees.
Myself, I own adjectives of my mutual funds directly through the fund firms, for no other reason than to avoid fees and difficult minimum purchases.
Other Answers:
Here's one opinion: I'm beside one of the big investment companies. I just spent literally months getting everything consolidated...exactly different of what you are thinking. My thoughts are that, if my investment house does something stupid, the companies I have invested surrounded by are still viable. I suppose there is some sort of risk that someone will run sour with adjectives the loot, but aren't your shares, bonds, etc still with a company, not the investment house? Looking forward to more answers...but that's my 2 cents worth.
Yes! However have an idea that insurance when doing this most banks enjoy fdic insurance up to $100k on deposits. So you might not want more than that in one ridge. Then the insurance on other asset types differ if any is available at all. You would involve to do some research on the ins. coverage available for the asset types you have.
Also maintain in mind that your cost increases somewhat so you might not want to progress gang busters since you holdings are already diversified. Finally speak to your financial professional This is what they're supposed to get compensated for just not the one at your hill.
that depends on the investment firm. If the firm is big enough, you really dont own to worry -- if they crash, consequently the whole marketplace would crumble around them. If you're at Fidelity or Schwab youre with a LOT of other ancestors so you're probably fine.
It all depends on how much money you own. I have my money split between 3 different firms, adjectives self directed investments. I don't like one firm knowing adjectives my business. Having been surrounded by the brokerage business 20 years ago I can tell you that I know the hobby and they want to capture adjectives your assets, it makes them adjectives warm and fuzzy. If you don't ring up your own shots, it is better to have the assessment of more than one advisor with you choosing the best sounding planning from each firm or rep. Most firms own insurance to cover amounts above SIPC protections.
What if your broker at one of the big firms starts trading without your scholarship and you don't spot it for awhile. This could put your account within limbo until it is corrected either through everyday channels or arbitration/lawsuit.
You do seize some benefits for having larger amounts near some firms, reduced fees, lower commission rates, etc.
Diversify the diversification. I vote for at least 2 firms!
Although Trade Info does hold a valid point with respect to a broker going unpromising, here's the other side of the argument.
I am a Financial Planner, not a Broker, but then again, almost everyone is a "planner" at the present time. And yes, I prefer to manage adjectives of my clients assets, but not just from a compensation standpoint.
More importantly, it is critical for me to at tiniest know the details of all of my clients assets so that my planning pains are accurate. It is like the out-of-date computer adage goes, Garbage In, Garbage Out. Unless I know exactly what my client is invested surrounded by, my recommendations for asset allocation, stash rates and even risk management are skewed and wrong.
As for a brokerage firm going under, check your brokers **** coverage and any supplemental coverage they provide. Remember, Your investments are yours and are not commingled next to the broker's assets. The truly important piece is to have a strong relationship near a planner you can trust.

it depends on which market they're on. they might not even be a publically traded company. do a explore on them on yahoo and if they're on one of the major market, their stock exchange abbreviation will come up along near the exchange they're traded on. if it's a major u.s. company you can capture their stock on e-trade or something like it.

invest through a brokerage, possibly??
Unless you afford to lose every penny, of your investment, stay clear of buying stocks. You might as well buy lottery tickets, or bet on a horse see, they are all having a bet, with your money, and they adjectives have long probability.
The best idea would to sit down beside a broker and discuss the investment with them. It is also historic to note that the company might be selling items at $3000 and they are selling approaching hotcakes, what is thier markup? If they have a touch mark-up (like 2%), it could be better to invest in a company that sell cheaper items, with a sophisticated mark-up and greater volume then the company contained by question.
I'm glad you are looking at numbers and sale, but please keep within mind there is deeply of different information that goes into a stock price and their observation in the adjectives.
