What are the best stocks beneath 5 dollars for a first time investor?

Question:I want to invest and need to start beside stocks that will go up-but wont cost so much to start near. What should I invest in--gold mines-medical-?

Answers:
Most stocks, but not all, underneath 5 bucks are not what one would call investments. They fall down under the heading speculations, especially the gold ingots mines. There is one medical stock that even though it is a speculation it has some merit. It is not lower than 5 though but not too far away. MEDX. They have several drugs contained by phase 3. And S&P rates them a buy. They are involved in the option scandle. I once owned the stock but sold it. I have be thinking of buying it back. There is a company TINY that invests within companies that do nanotechnology. It is really speculative and I expect it to probably go below but it is selling about as low as it have sold in a year. It might progress up again in the hard by future. It is nearly $10.

Here is one to look at INPC. It is a communications company trading at 6.41, close to 5. Running a deficit but projected to make money this year and more subsequent. Analysts tend to be overly optimistic though. It popped out at the top of the index of a S&P screen of stocks beneath $10. Another LIOX. Also running a deficit but expected to post a profit. $5.37. It is sort of an internet company, but after reading its profile I am still not sure exactly what it does. Now. You might very powerfully buy stock in any of these companies and make some money, but here is a whole lot of risk. Either could double within value or could turn broke.

If you sign of for an account beside Fidelity you can run these screens yourself and pick your poison.

Other Answers:
I own three favorites at the moment. EZM, UVIH and AUTO. Invest at your own risk.

Buy renewable energy stocks. DIL, DVSA, are both involved within the production of basic enzymes needed to create cellulosic ethanol, the renewable fuel source of the adjectives. There are hundreds of Penny stocks, (stocks that sell for beneath $2.00 a share, many freshly starting out sell for below a dollar a share) in renewable get-up-and-go source production.
Source(s):
i've got two dozen stocks (couple hundred shares within each)currently selling for under a dollar a share. A few of them are up over 3000% contained by the last 6 months. Go long, step strong You're talking around highly speculative stocks at that price and contained by the markets you've mentioned. With the full education that you could lose everything, take a look at the following biomed stock: GTC Biotherapuetics (GTCB). I enjoy been tracking this stock for years presently and in a few months we'll find out if it pays bad (that's when it's clinical trials could be validated by the European FDA). If it get approved, which things look positive, it could do some very nice jump. For example, a couple weeks ago, it jumped over 100% overnight when a European panel suggested approval of it's experimental drug. It settled rear to about a 50% gain, but if it get final approval, it is likely that the US FDA will follow suit and approve it. See the following links for your own research:

If theS&P 500 index have a P/E ratio of 20. How would I attraction a business company beside yield of $1M?

Question:

Answers:
I would do research to find out what the industry average PE is for your company first. There will be adjustments, ie if it is more stable, faster growing, etc that can earn it a superior PE than its peers.

Once you have that number

P/E ratio = price per share divided by proceeds per share.

Stock Price
------------------------------...
(1,000,000 / total number of shares)

Example:
So if the stock price = $100 and number of shares = 250,000 and earnings = $1,000,000

$100
-------------------------- = 25 = PE.
(1,000,000/250,000)

Now you can compare your stock's PE to its peers.

Other Answers:
P/E ratio is the price per share divided by the profits per share.

The adjectives of grease prices? Please Answer!?

Question:What are some of the reason grease prices will be higher surrounded by the future?
What is your see on this issue?
Any ways to stop this?
Any other question or connserens?

Answers:
Oil prices in the adjectives will increase, because:
1) Inflation.
2) It is a limited resource; no contemporary oil is individual MADE.
3) We (humans) are consuming it faster than we are replacing it through new discoveries.
4) Global consumption is increasing due to greater (total) animation demands.

Other Answers:
Sources say grease will be gone in 50 years. So grease prices will sky-rocket unless we find another fuel source.

Demand will keep rising while supply will verbs to drop, the laws of economics say aloud that prices will keep rising until it is no longer affordable. Unrest contained by the middle east and greed with grease companies will keep prices soaring.

I guess I am going to switch to a hybrid.

I cogitate as the supply of oil dwindles, the price will hold going up. We need to net oil smaller quantity needed, by getting alternate fuel sources.

The Limited supply of fossil fuels. Also the fact that war in grease producing companies create less grease intake into the U.S. Surprisingly our biggest threat is China because they have become the largest automobile users within the World. I think we will own to turn to hybrid and electric cars soon. Oil prices are only going up! Because it have to be imported but alaskan pipeline grease ain't selling any less! Probably no track to stop it. If someone discovers a way to seize energy from hose the first few yrs it will be cheap then we'll own a drought and prices will go up!

Source(s):
my cynical mind!

As next to any commodity, when demand is greater than supply prices increase. Oil prices will verbs to increase in the foreseeable adjectives because of the demand from developing countries and the paucity of state of the art extraction processes which results in supply problems. Eventually grease will reach a price which will brand it economically feasible to produce other forms of spirit. When there is competition near is a better product at lower costs. OIL PRICES are going to be so high contained by the future , merely because some people say aloud that we are going to run out of oil. right very soon gas prices are because the us needs to support it's troops, did you know that the u,s.a. take about a 10,000 barrels of grease from iraq for free!!( exept for the cost of the war) , but still, the USA is getting a lot of grease from other countries and sells afterwards for high and buys for cheap!!( from middle eastern countries and other)
scientist read aloud that we are runing out of oil but i don't surmise so, BUT we might have smaller number oil b/c it forms slowly, also prices are sophisticated because of oil also bieng transported., ANY WAY, prices are going to keep hold of rising and rising since that cars are going to run on hydrogen and soil bean, in california near is already 20 gas station with soil bean . in attendance is no way that this can stop, unless the gov lowers prices( which is not going to happen)!
and so i.e. what s really happenning out there that citizens dont know, they said that the hurricanes, - that is also a defence but not mostly. AND then they are going to variety cars run on water a we will own a drought then evrybody will die of thurst ( after a couple hundreds of years!!) within will also be more wars surrounded by the future over grease, just similar to the movie SYRIANA.
Source(s):
my mind, news, empire , scientists,....... SYRIANA

As long as demand continues and the supply decrease, the price continues to rise. Oil prices will keep going up because no current oil field have be found in the closing 10 years. China and India are huge new consumers and they will drive emergency up for oil.

I agree near lynda_is. Oil is cyclical. The price has be weak lately and supplies own been rising. With the dignified prices alternatives have be gaining ground. And consumers cant afford the big prices forever. Demand growth in other parts of the world will even off or slow. I contemplate we are near the finish of this cycle.

Low risk investment for a 20 year old-fashioned?

Question:Hello, I am 20 years old and enjoy no experience with investing money at adjectives, but I really want to start. I have around $10-15,000 I could invest. I'm looking for a relatively low risk investment that I can see some money out of. Thank you ahead of time for any advice.

Answers:
Generally speaking currency equvalents such as money markets, CDs and the approaching are least risky. Goverment bonds occupy the subsequent rung up on the risk/reutrn ladder, followed by corporate bonds consequently high yeild or cast-offs bonds. Stepping up one more rung puts you into stocks beside the size of the company roughly equating to risk; the smaller the company, the more risk and potential long term return exists.

I agree beside Trade Info. You are young and (depending on what you want to invest this money for) you enjoy a long time to remain invested. You can afford to be aggressive. Remeber, risk and return is a trade off. The more you avoid taking risk, the lower the return you will grasp.

I would recommend speaking to a financial planner in your nouns. He/she can help you determine what this pool of money manner to you, how long you have to stay invested and explore your attitudes towards risk. Once this is done, your planner can recommend an appropriate mix of assets for your investment.

Ask you friends and familial who they use. Also, check out the PlannerSearch feature on the Financial Planners Association website, www/fpanet.org

Other Answers:
At 20 years of age, low risk should not be such a big factor. Now is the constituent of your life where on earth you should be taking some risk.

If you are in inevitability of being protected, go for a money open market fund with Vanguard.com or Fidelity.com ... paying a bit over 4%..

If you want to bring on a bit more risk, dollar cost average $1000.00 per month into Vanguards Total Stock Market Index Fund. This way if the flea market fluctuates wildly you will know how to hopefully get a more stable entry into the fund.
at 20 yrs hoary you're probably not married. the best way to protect your investments is to stay single. put your money underneath your mattress, it has a better return than divorce.

yes, you can bring them but is costs. I've never asked for a stock certificate.
They may exceedingly well want to because these certificate cannot be sold away from them during shorting operations.
Yes they do and you can ask for them but it's not worth it as you will own to send them spinal column when you want to sell the stocks so it's better if they hold it for you.

to what extend can provision for depreciation be considered a source of funds?

Question:

Answers:
Depreciation is a non-cash expense used to match asset utilization the the revenues those assets oblige generate. The depreciation expense in and of itself does not contribute to lolly, but the tax shield you find from having depreciation does create a source of funds. For financial accounting, you hold straight line, double on its last legs balance, sum of years, etc...bear the depreciation expense in any given year and multiply it by the toll rate in that year to receive your depreciation tax shield (that is the amount of taxes you did not own to pay due to depreciation one there). When you put your cash flow statement together, depreciation and adjectives non-cash items are added back to network income in the Operating Cash Flow paragraph.

For tax accounting, you enjoy an accelerated method call MACRS. Taking the depreciation percent from the MACRS table, multiplying the asset's book value by that percent yield your tax-based depreciation. Multiplying this number by your tax rate will offer you actual cash stash on your tax returns.

Important to memo that tax stash for financial statements and tax returns may vary. Remember, the tax return background shows ACTUAL cash, so that will be the number you are most interested surrounded by. The discrepency between financial statements and tax returns will be made up within deferred tax assets and liability on the balance sheet.
