Besides getting an free hole, is within a down side to horizontal drilling for grease surrounded by an existing vertical hol

Question:I ran out of space surrounded by the answer above so the last word is hole. I hold been asked to purchase shares surrounded by a horizontal re-entry oil resourcefully drilling project. The well produces more or less 20 barrels a day immediately, but the sales dude say they expect from 100 to 600 BPD once the horizontal drilling is complete. I figure that that number is an exageration, but 10 to 15 years of payments does nouns like a well brought-up thing. Any comments or previous experiences would be benefitial.

I agree it sounds like a con. I do know that most grease well drilling projects lose money. Oil drilling companies construct money because the few projects that make money, more than label up for the ones that lose money. Unless you are an expert in grease drilling, do not invest in grease wells. They are probably selling a very well no oil company is dumb satisfactory to invest in.

Can I buy Euros or Yen (or a picnic basket of non-$ currencies) as an ETF?

Question:I am intersted in diversifying my portfolio by buying currencies (and not stocks denominated within foreign currencies) and holding them instead of keeping the cash or brass equivalent portion of my portfolio in USD. I am not comfortable within trading currency futures. Just like IAU and SLV hold allowed investors to buy precious metals as an ETF, I am wondering if there are currency ETFs. A Euro ETF will trade at the number of dollars 100 Euros can buy. As the Euro appreciates, so does the traded good point of this ETF. Are there ETFs close to this? If not, are they in the works?

Answers:
If at hand are, I am not aware of them. You do have other option that you might consider, if there are within fact none. One is to invest contained by either a mutual fund or a closed closing stages fund that invests in European stocks or Asian stocks. A couple of closed train funds that you might consider are TDF, investing in Chinese stocks and SWZ investing surrounded by Swiss stocks.

In my opinion, doing so have some advantages over investing in currencies. One is that they clear a dividend and secondly they are also tied to the prospects of the companies that they invest in. Whereas investing contained by just the currencies, the prospects are tied purely to the currencies.

The two I mentioned are just as examples and not necessarily recommendation. Another example is GIM, a closed end fund that invests contained by foreign debt instruments. The advantage of that again is dividends plus avoiding the dollar.

Other Answers:

which is the better and safer investment, Shares or property?

Question:

Answers:
I would say shares. You can buy shares within a widely diversified mutual fund (or in several widely diversified mutual funds), and things going sour at one company, or surrounded by one city, will not cause you to lose adjectives your money. Sure, the whole marketplace can tank, but if you buy some equity shares and some bond fund shares, your losses will be contained.

But, enunciate you buy a house or a condo in a specific neighborhood contained by a certain city. If crime explodes within that neighborhood, or the biggest nearby employer closes its operation, or unadulterated estate in the nouns in standard has a few fruitless years, you can quickly lose material comfort.

An advantage of a house or condo is that it is an investment you can live surrounded by.

Other Answers:
Always real estate. Always.
property other goes up
Both. All depends on timing and the asset you acquire.
property
Real Estate have had a HUGE boom just now. We bought a house for 120K and sold it for 185K less than three years after that. Our current home value have gone up from 230K to280K in purely ONE year......
Property of course. They aren't making it anymore.
Theory say "property always go up"

This folks is your signal of an impending bubble burst.....They said that about the Nasdaq contained by 2000 if you recall...

the answer to your grill: neither, buy gold and silver bullion and lately wait until things obtain clear.
Property.
I wouls suggest you check the link below where on earth you can find Seized houses at 90 % Off retail value and lateron resell it when the bazaar increases.

Property doesn't always be in motion up. If the neighborhood goes to shits, so does the property convenience. If the regional economy tank, property values tank.
There is no foolproof investment. If you're looking for relative safekeeping, consider bonds or brokerage CDs.
Shares are risky. Depends on how diversified or hedged you are. You can cut back some of the risk by buying options though.
It really does depend!

You said investment. Realestate is a great use of your money, especially if you are living within it!

However, What if you buy at the top of the market and the biggest company surrounded by the area moves? And it be your intent to sell that propeerty?!?! And what if rates are rising and you bought near a variable rate mortgage?!?!

What is your stop loss plan?!?!?
That's the nice item about stocks...you can other put in a stop lay down to limit your downside, near realestate, if things go south...WHAT DO YOU DO?

That said, I am a big disciple of the happy environment, REITS! However with rates rising and a soft housing / genuine estate market, I am underweight surrounded by Reits.

But, all surrounded by all it depends...if you own a job, and can affford to buy some rental property, and can afford to own it unoccupied from time to time, well, that will unquestionably pay surrounded by time.
Shares are better and Properties are Safer.
Shares have a high expected return, and are more liquid (shares enjoy lower transaction costs and can be sold more quickly). However, share have more volatility.
