Greek mrias , mriad-, ten thousand, from mrios, countless

Usage Note:
Throughout most of its history in English myriad be used as a noun, as in a myriad of men. In the 19th century it begin to be used in poetry as an adjective, as within myriad men. Both usages in English are agreeable, as in Samuel Taylor Coleridge's "Myriad myriads of lives." This poetic, adjectival use become so well entrenched collectively that many society came to consider it as the single correct use. In fact, both uses surrounded by English are parallel with those of the resourceful ancient Greek. The Greek word mrias, from which myriad derives, could be used as either a noun or an adjective, but the noun mrias be used in broad prose and in arithmetic while the adjective mrias was used just in poetry.

Individuals are a moment ago copying other people's erroneous usage. What I want to know is who started this mess?
Actually, myriad has be used as a noun ever since its introduction into English in the mid-16th century. It be borrowed ultimately from a Greek word meaning 'ten thousand', from a Greek adjective purpose 'countless'. In fact, from the 16th to the 19th century, the English noun be used to mean 'ten thousand', chiefly within translations from Greek or Latin, or in mention to the Greek numeral system: "Rome...vaunted herself of two myriades of inhabitants." (Burton, The Anatomy of Melancholy, 1621) But the modern sense, 'a very great or indefinitely great number of folks or things', also dates vertebrae to the 1500s. The noun is used in both the singular (a myriad of voices) and the plural (the myriads of voice; the voices of myriads).

At the instigation of the 19th century, myriad began its energy as an adjective meaning 'countless, innumerable', but it be used mostly in poetry or poetic prose: "Myriad myriads of lives teem'd forth from the mighty embracement" (Coleridge, Hymn to Earth) "Thou of the plentiful tongues, the myriad eyes!" (Tennyson, Ode to Memory) "It describes myriad circles in the sand...a myriad little cable of beach-grass." (Thoreau, Cape Cod) The adjective is also used with a singular noun to expect 'having innumerable phases, aspects, or variations', as in the example "the myriad mind of Shakespeare."

The use of the adjective surrounded by poetic language become so common that populace began to focus the noun was incorrect. You are not the first personality who has written to us nearly this "erroneous" use of myriad. But to answer your question, adjectives modern usage guides consider the noun to be acceptable.

WTF's up beside Boeing (BA)?

Question:Nothing but good word but it's tanking? Did I miss something?

Answers:
Apparently you did. And I wish you would not point that weapon at me while I am typing. Put it down...gratefulness.
Okay, yes, you missed the fact that Airbus, Boeing's chief European rival announced that nearby are going to be delays surrounded by the roll-out of their new 500 passenger giant airplane.
Boeing is making a similar aircraft, though not pretty as big, called The Dreamliner. The marketplace figures that since Airbus is have problems, then Boeing will too.
Also, within are many obstacle for Boeing to overcome the justify their stock price (though trading at a 23 PE is not what I would telephone outrageous...):
First, Boeing is moving their headquarters from Seattle to Dallas, I think. Or is it Chicago? I am not sure but the certainty of the matter is they are transplanting their office halfway across the country even as we speak. Things other get screwed up when that happen.
Second: They are introducing a brand-new supply-chain management software to relieve them buy supplies and move them to plants all over the world as neatly as possible. There are rumours that there are some big bugs contained by the software and it is not working up to expectations.
Third: The price of metals is going up. These giant planes are in reality more fuel efficient than previous jet, mainly because they are much lighter and use much more rationalized engines. In order to capture these giants airborne, one requirements lots and lots of aluminum and titanium. Can you spell ka-ching? The price of the plane goes up, the instructions go down.

The charts share me that the stock has have a great run lately. It is coming off its 52-week and all-time high-ranking of $89.58. That is certainly zilch to sneeze at. However, the chart is making a correction because the stock was severely overbought during this run up and the stratum of support at this volume seems to be give or take a few $83.00. If it jumps backbone to that level, I would cart my profits here.
The next leg down could be a doozy, as the subsequent level of support appears at roughly $72.00, which is where it started its run. If you are looking to lock within profits, I wouldn't take the hit and miss of it breaking through the first level of support because it doesn't appear to be that strong. It would probably be prudent to sell it here and hold on to the account unseal to pick up the same shares at $72.00 or slightly smaller amount. That is a fourteen percent increase in the number of your shares if you follow the buy-back plan. If not, you can hide away fourteen percent over the second level of support.
Long-term...and I be determined way more than five years, this stock is going to be a definite keeper for masses many years to come.
This one and Kia Motors Corp. (KIMTF...)
Best of luck to you!

Question:If a company has 75 percent possible return if objective is met and the goal is met or at smallest looking like it's going to and the company is acquire or bought out by someone else, then are they liable for the previous company's promise? This is in connection with penny stock if that makes any difference. Thank you

"Promises" are meaningless even if the company isn't bought out. What stays intact are contracts, and things of that personality. If it was newly someone's say-so, you have nought but your word if they don't back you up.

"A vocal contract isn't worth the paper it's printed on."

Why are the stock market modernized surrounded by the long run but inefficient surrounded by the short run??

Question:I need a few bullet points on respectively.

Answers:
In the short run stocks can move on reaction & incorrect information/assumptions/rummor... In the long run these all harmonize out with veracity. Over time, valuation is ultimatly reflected. That's not an exact point contained by time. But the value of a stock over (let's say) ten years is more of an indication consequently the last week.

Other Answers:
What do you suggest by efficient/inefficient?At what? They make associates money and promote greed.

Stock markets are updated when all the information roughly a company is reflected contained by the stock price. However, new information have to spread among the participants within the market, which take time. Secondly, markets are discrete, transactions help yourself to place one at the time, with a non-zero time between two transactions. Thirdly, market are closed more than half of the time. Some family claim the stock market is restructured and others that it is inefficient. Some people claim it is restructured in the short run but inefficient surrounded by the long run. But I don't know of anyone who claims it is inefficient in the short run and modernized in the long run.

what are logistics and derivatives and make available me any website where on earth information is available about this?

Question:

Answers:
I've never heard of logistics as a financial investment, but derivitives are rather common. The two most adjectives types, called option, are "calls" and "puts".

Buying a call give you the option, but not the condition, to buy a stock at a specific price within a set length of time. Here is an example:

I believe IBM stock price will go up contained by the next six months. Currently it's at $76.42. I can buy a hail as for a small fee ($3.30) that give me an option to purchase that share of IBM for $80 at any time up to the expiration of the opportunity (6 months). So I need the stock price to dance up to at least $83.30 simply to break even. But if the stock goes up to voice, $90, I can exercise my option to buy the share for the $80, and without delay sell the share and nick the $6.70 profit without ever have to cough up the $80 for the share price. This allows you to make a substantial profit off of terribly little actual investment. If the share never goes above your break even point, you simply lose your $3.30 fee when the prospect expires.

Puts are exactly the opposite. They make available you the option, but not the necessity, to sell a stock at a specific price for a time of time. You use these when you're betting a stock will go down.

One entity to note is that option are sold in blocks of 100 shares. And I don't really believe IBM is going to walk up.

Other Answers:
Wikipedia.org for both (to get started)

Logistics is everything you call for to move things or people from point A to point B. It is generally thought to include information, transportation, (ware)housing, and packaging.

Derivative (or derivative security) is a financial instrument whose advantage is determined by the value of another financial instrument (usually call "the underlying"). Some examples of derivatives are options on stocks, futures on stock indexes, interest rates, and foreign currencies, interest rate swaps, and currency swaps.

But I'd similar to to ask a question, too; how did these two totally unrelated things net it into one question?

You can calculate your own using the information available at Yahoo and returns.com or use that info. to figure out the assumptions for the sites you record above. Then you can use whichever one uses assumptions that make the most sense to you.

does anyone know the process and benefits when refinacing?

Question:

Refinacing what? Your mortgage? Goto bankrate.com and start reading, get adjectives your personal income info in establish. Refinace go hypothesis if you have an ARM or adjustable rate...bring a fixed with out additonal clearance penalties.

Other Answers:
From 2001 to 2005 everybody be refinancing because interest rates were going down. That's over.

One apposite reason to refinance today is if you hold an adjustable rate mortgage and you want to switch to a fixed rate before interest rates move about any higher.

Another principle is if you started with an FHA loan, and presently that you have a bit equity, you want to swich to a conventional mortgage to avoid that nasty mortgage insurance.

Or if you bought your house near less than idyllic credit, and your rate is just plain dignified. Now that you've shown how responsible you can be with your payments, you could possibly carry a lower rate.

And last, if you enjoy built up a lot of equity that you want to "currency out" to maybe reimburse off your cars, credit cards, or student loans.
