From an employer's standpoint, what is the difference between offering a 401K and a SEP IRA?

Answers:
1. Costs to set up.
2. Ease of administration.
3. Amount of employee's contribution.
4. Amount of the employer's contribution.

Other Answers:
Not sure in the order of the IRA; but with a 401 the employer can use a portion {basically what they contribute} for company upsurge.
I believe they can do it once a year; but have to return the funds since the end of fiscal year.
It help the employer out too; because {I think} this gives them a double tariff break.

If General Motors files liquidation will the United States establishment bail them out? INTELLIGENT ANSWERS ONLY!!

Answers:
General Motors won't file for ruin EVER.

On March 27, 1999 Nissan (From Japan) and Renault (From France) signed an agreement to create the fourth largest car company within the World.

At that time Nissan had a debt of $16.7 Billion (If you required to buy GM today it will cost you less than $13 Billion)

Renault invested $5 Billion contained by exchange for 36.8% of Nissan and 22.5% of Nissan Diesel.

Renault also purchased the European Financial Subsidiaries of Nissan for $320 Million.

To stop the losses Carlos Ghosn (Executive Vice President of Renault at that time) took over as COO of Nissan.

Renault also got two chairs at the Board of Directors at Nissan.

Yoshikazu Hanawa (President and CEO of Nissan at that time) was also promoted to the Board of Directors of Renault.

All this moves save Nissan from bankruptcy.

If I am mistaken and GM files for collapse the United States of America Government WON'T BAIL General Motors or Ford.

In 1979 the United States of America Government saved Chrysler beside $1.5 Billion in loan guarantees.

It be a lot of money rear then and Chrylser could not survive.

In 1998 Daimler-Benz (From Germany) bought Chrysler.

Today the company is call Daimler Chrysler.

Therefore the United States of America Government won't make alike mistake twice.

General Motors has plenty of things to go like the brands Vauxhall, Holden, Saturn or Saab.

It can decline its stake in Isuzu from 8% to 3%
It can go or close its Allison Transmission Factory in Indianapolis, Indiana (Open since 1915)
AC Delco no longer exists today, however, GM still have the right to the brand and it could sell it.

Other Answers:
I cogitate the US government will do what it can to take home sure that GM stays in business. However if GM get to a point of having to contend bankruptcy, I reflect on GM shareholders will probably be left next to worthless stock.
I think the most probable trail for GM is to end up as a diminished company near some successful niche businesses similar to what has happen with AT&T.
The senate would treat it the same means of access they treated United Airlines, give them billions surrounded by government back loans, and protect emplyee pensions to a unmistaken extent, buy products or services from the company and not use them. If GM sarted to fail the Gov. might buy adjectives new gov vehicals through GM simply to help out business. After 9/11 millions of airline tickets owned by the rule went unused and expired when the airline industry be not doing well, thats only just stupid.

However the government shouldn't do this, if a company is not doing okay because the competition is simply better then the senate is essentially supporting inefficency. They economy would be better past its sell-by date if the company just slipshod if it could hold on by itself, then hangging on by a thread near government support.

do I foot taxes at the finish off of the year on stocks I redeem contained by Aug? Or did I wage taxes, when redeem?

I'm about to redeem stocks/mutual funds. Do I clear taxes when I redeem? Or at the end of the year at tariff time? If so, do I pay federal, state or both? and whats the percentage (in MN)?

THX!

Answers:
You owe taxes on any property gains that resulted from the Dutch auction, plus any dividend that were compensated in 2005 in the past you sold the stock. You will pay the rates on these when you file your 2005 export tax returns by April 17. For federal tax, here is a special rate for dividends and for long term (held more than 1 year) funds gains. It is 10 or 15 % depending on your excise bracket. You should complete schedule D of the 1040 levy form. There is no special treatment for capital gain in Minnesota, so the gain will be taxed as middle-of-the-road income (typically 7.05%, but up to 7.85% if your income is over $100,000). You will get a 1099-B and/or 1099-Div statement from your broker. In the unlikely event that they withheld excise (which they would only do if the IRS have notified you that you are subject to backup withholding) it will show on the 1099-B.

Other Answers:
You earnings at the end of the year. The company that you invested beside has until the closing of January in the following year to convey you your 1099. The 1099 reports the proceeds from your trades. It's your responsibility to report the purchase price. You will have to remuneration both Federal and State taxes on your gains. The duty rate that you pay depends on how long you own held the investments. If you held the investments for less than 12 months, they will be tax at your ordinary income rate. If you own held them for longer than 12 months than the tax rate is 15%. These are for Federal taxes. I don't know the excise rates for your state.

what are the differences between asset supervision and investment bank?

Answers:
Asset management and investment bank are basically opposites of one another. Asset administration = "Buy Side" and Investment Banking = "Sell Side". These are the terms that are used on Wall Street.

Here's an example that may help out you to understand the difference. (keep within mind these numbers are totally made up!)

Let's say that IBM requests to buy Intel for $500 million dollars but they don't have the lolly to do this...so what do they do? Well, one thing they can do is progress to their trusty investment bankers (Morgan Stanley, Bear Stearns, etc.) and say "Hey investment investment banker, how do we get this $500 million dollars"? So the investment bankers will do some work (due diligence, research, etc) and come up beside the idea that IBM should flog $500 million of debt. So then the bankers do some more work and the Company pitches the buy and sell to potential accounts (clients, investors, etc). This is why investment banking is call the sell side.

Ok, so very soon we know that Morgan Stanley has done its work and IBM is primed to sell $500 million of bonds. Well, who do they go to? This is where asset running comes in (and asset nouns is a very broad term). Basically asset manager are people that order money for institutions, individuals, companies, etc. The figure out where on earth to invest money. In this IBM example, asset managers who invest contained by corporate bonds (like IBM) might be interested in buying some of the issue (the issue = $500mm that IBM is seeking). This is the idea asset management is oftern referred to as the buy side.

There are other differences between investment bank and asset management since the example I give you is a very shrink focussed answer...but I think it should bestow you at least somewhat of an conception as to the difference.

Other Answers:
well to start next to lol assets are what you own right now, resembling car, home, boat ect. investments are what you speculate within or you think will grasp bigger as time goes on, close to stocks, housing market, produce close to corn wheat and such. You got money contained by both one you already own the other you are hoping will grow bigger as time goes on.
Asset Management is managing the money or assets. Investment bank is making deals helping companies M&A, issues stocks, bonds, borrow money, lend money and bringing companies public etc...
Assest management is managing investments for a customer, by any manking investment decisions or organize a customers financial data and investments (depends how it's used).

Investment bank is a bank for companies, when companies what to bring brand new shares or bonds to market. The investment sandbank buys the stock or bonds from the company, then bring them to the exchange and try to get rid of them for more than they paid. So investment bank generally deal with the initial securities person brought to the secondary marketplace. Invesatment banks hold other services, but that if the main view. Also investment banks however do not submission normal bank services.
