I agree short term positive bonds are a good invest look for yield around 5%. For long term look at Granny stocks or mutual funds. (Granny stocks are utilities stocks that provide a return on invest ie similar to your local gas or electric company. They generally enjoy a 5% return on investment plus appreaciate. DONT confuse these stocks near an ENRON which was an spirit broker stay away from the energy brokers they are a bleak investment.) There is a hypothesis that the best DOW stocks to invest in are the ones that hold performed the worst during olden times years. I do not necessarily subscribe to that hypothesis. I think it is call "Dogs of the Dow".But based on that: MRK looks resembling a good bet. It is even on an uptrend!! It is above it 200 daylight moving average and the 50 day moving average have crossed the 200 day so technically it is nouns. But, it is facing literally billions in Viox imperative suits.
Then of course in attendance is GM. I can not think of a stock that have performed worse, except possibly MRK. Company is in adjectives do-do. Based on that and the aformentioned hypothesis, it ought to be a great investment. Technically, it is still very, enormously weak.
Now let talk systematic.
JMP is technically very strong. Up 30% since November. Not desperate.
Now lets parley value.
C is a screaming plus play. PE < 10. Div > 4% but technically very unconvincing.
