Old trading strategies don't work capably within the Internet age?
Question:
Is it true that some trading strategies that worked well 20 years ago in a minute don't work, or give much smaller quantity profits, due to having lots people doing equal with the advent of Internet brokers?
For example Zack's and Reuters returns estimates have lost their snap, even Julian Robertson of Tiger Management and Michael Steinhardt, suffered severe losses within the 90s. John Templeton has have reduced earnings.
Answer:
Some trading strategies might be antiquated in this era. Strategies might not work however the traditions to investment still stand.
As things get complicated, minds hold to think more to mix here and here to get a obedient strategy.
I did not realize anyone suffered losses during the 90s. That was the bull bazaar to beat adjectives bull markets. Were they shorting stocks?
Now contained by the 1st 3 years of the 2000s, that would be a different story. Many suffered losses then. In certainty almost everyone that wasn't short.
As for the internet. In my opionion it has increased the emergency for stocks and other investments. Every time someone recommends a stock as a buy, the stock jump 2 bucks in price. I can't serve thinking that they bought into the stock before issuing the buy opinion so as to sell it to the gullables.
Indeed the market have changed within the last 20 years as they have also change contained by the previous 20 years. I remember when 5 miilion shares was a sturdy day on the big board.
It does however come across to me that the tried and true trading strategies that have worked economically in yesteryear seem to also work in good health today. But then I am not a light of day trader so I may be missing a few trends here and there.

Nobody has a fullproof answer. I'd articulate to put into an index mutual fund. You'll beat 80% of fund manager.
There are hedge funds that may do better, but you don't hold enough change for them.
Money Funds.Plan to keep the acnt for at least possible 5 yrs.
mutual funds or buy stocks but both have risk. look for a financial advisor within your area.
please invest at china
invest within indian stockmarket.. purchase share of TCS or INFOSYS, Indian IT company.. you will get 100% guarranteed return next to lots of satisfaction unlike investing contained by drugs.
the rule: the higher the risk the difficult the return
Or the higher return you are expecting, the more randomness that your money will be gone
20% is high and $10, 000 is low
Be convincing. unless you are very lucky, you should not expect 20%, 5-10% is more believable.
Buy stock in Mastercard symbol "MA" It have been doing great, already up over 100% from six months ago.
Try stocks or mutual funds
yea unless u have a flutter it u might make 20% return but realistically ya cant. try getting a credit league account if u dont since their rates are better than bank and find a CD for 5.5%+ and put it contained by there for a year. Might wanna look into IRAs.

RE: Direct Deposit?
Question:
My employer's company went to Direct Deposit January of this year, we attain paid every two weeks (on a Wednesday) it be stated that if you don't get DD that you won't receive a serious newspaper check until the following Monday, which that would make it 19 days. O.K. Just the other hours of daylight it was told to me that if the employee's don't capture a bank picture for DD then they will not procure paid at adjectives. Is that Legal.
Answer:
Absolutly not! The company can't force employee's to get direct deposit. Some associates are not able to overt an account at a sandbank. I have direct deposit and I love it. I never own to worry more or less it not showing up in the communication on time. Some of my co-workers don't. They occasionally own late checks and when they telephone call about it, they are usually told to grasp direct deposit and they wouldn't have that problem.
No. That is not decriminalized. You should look at the federal posting signs they are legally required to provide to you in relation to pay days.
No it is not, you can't work someone for free.. HOWEVER.. if it is "now" company policy to own DD... you need to interested a FREE checking account using your DD slip.. and it will adjectives be ok.. It's a lot easier afterwards waiting for them to hand you a piece of newspaper. My husband hates it.. but hey.. this is the adjectives of money. It is all going the DD passageway.
I know some government agencies require direct deposit as a requirement for employment.
i dont regard its legal. did you sign anything that say you need a wall account to bring paid? i suggest, that if does not wages you, you should complain to the labor department and get him contained by trouble
Many banks charge highly developed fees if not set up for direct deposit. Direct deposit make things easier and most banks don't charge fees for it. For example dune of america has fees but if you procure paid by direct deposit they dont charge monthly fees. As far as endorsed questions I wouldn't ask more or less legal issues on a RunEye.com board from some stranger you never met, and never will. Save the substantial legal stuff for folks you can trust. :-) folks you can see and look within their eye.
No its not legal at adjectives. They are jsut trying to scare everybody into going the DD route. If i be you i would say no and preserve a careful documentation of every single hour you work, as if they veto to pay you after you could sue and make satisfactory to retire for the rest of your life.
Your response.
no thats not legal..they own to pay you for working
No, it's not permissible. All companies are required to pay their workforce!! Also, they have to provide an alternative to direct deposit, because not everyone can take a bank side (due to their age, poor credit, bad bank history, etc)
thats illegal. they cant purely not pay you. !!
I would travel to the County Courthouse where you reside and pop in the State Prosecutor's Office. Refer your question to them?
I'd return with a bank rationalization especially for it. Honestly DD is so much easier than paper checks and I've never have any problem with DD. As far as the authority of it, I don't know. Most laws on these issues are state base. For example I live in OK and employer can't force exsiting employees to receive income via DD, but can force new force to do so. I would say call for up a lawyer and ask them, most will answer question like this for free.
Does Motley Fool really enjoy such a great account of picking champion stocks?
Question:
Who thinks their insights are (or, are not) worth the $200. Hidden Gems excise?
Do they post their "winning picks as okay as any losing picks" anywhere for us all to see?
Answer:
I am positive that you will get many different answers to this question. I do rob one of their services, which I might add I am not going to renew. I am not overly impressed next to their recommendations. Perhaps I select the incorrect service for me--rule makers and rule breakers. My outline is that there be not a great deal of research that go into the selections and the selection are rather speculative within my opinion. They do show you how their picks enjoy done since recommendation and they do proposal you a sample copy to check out. I would recommend doing only just that.
Perhaps they are spreading themselves too thin. They contribute about a dozen different services.
They are ok but I wouldn't pay envelope them for advice.
I wouldn't follow their proposal. They wrote a whole article slaughtering a company I own. However, the stock is selling below lattice asset value. They also wrote an article within late 2004 slaughtering one of my gems. That stock go on to gain over 1000% in 18 months.
Think in the region of it. If their picks were other the winning ones, why would they share them beside people, that would only erode their profit potential. It's like the mutual fund money executive who is running an open fund. He may know of 5 gems, but if the fund is widen and he keeps pumping current money into it, he will have to recompense higher and highly developed prices for more shares.
If you cannot risk $200.00 to find out then you should not invest within stocks.
Invest in the ETFs DIA, IVV and QQQQ.

Question:
Can anyone recommend some free or inexpensive data sources for historical stock info?
In common, I'm looking for daily pricing and volume notes for the last 5 years or so, for at most minuscule the NYSE stocks, or preferably a broader set of securities. Additional info, including fundamental info on the stocks, would be great too.
I want to download this data and do some analysis on my own PC, so I don't want a site where on earth I have to look up respectively result on the screen, but to some extent, somewhere where I can download a bulk set of background in a adjectives, accessible format (XLS, text, etc.)
Free would be best, unsurprisingly, but I'd be willing to take-home pay a reasonable price if necessitate be.

In yahoo nouns you enter a quote code and then you click into historical prices, surrounded by that page at the bottom you will a link that say "Download to a spreadsheet". It is a very adjectives tool for me, I hope it will work for you.
The best source is the CRSP database. However -- it is not free. In fact, it is not cheap.
However, if you enjoy access to a B-School library, almost all of them hold access to it through the Wharton Research Data Service system (WRDS).
I have a free open-source EXCEL add-in that have various user-defined functions that you can use to download historical quotes, current quotes and fundamental background from a number of different trellis sites. I support it in this Yahoo! group:
http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/sm...

If you enjoy any questions on the functions and their use, simply post them in that group.

I want to capitlize on the grwing emergency for LEDs. Anyone presently of a flawless company to invest contained by?
Question:
Answer:
Light Emitting Diodes, I believe, are a great area to look at becoming invested contained by. In fact, I am going to steal your opinion and invest in it myself. I would come up with the biggest player is GE, but I wouldn't expect their stock to be impacted much by LEDs as it will be a tiny portion of their revenue. Since an LED is basically a semiconductor, adjectives of the semiconductor companies are hoping to be the best producers of LED. Below is a list from Yahoo! Finance encyclopaedia semiconductor related companies. Included in this document is Intel and AMD, again, similar to GE, I dont know how much LEDs would impact their business. Several small LED companies are private, but be on the lookout for IPOs in the fundamental future. Unfortunately, specifically the extent of my knowledge on the sector, correct luck.

Option quotes?
Question:
Is there a service that provides live bazaar depth for option quotes? What I am looking for is the bid/ask price AND sizes as capably as those quotes further from the recent price. Is there avail. for option as it is for stocks?
Answer:
I go to nouns.yahoo.com and put in the stock symbol for the underlying stock. Then select the second relationship on the left, "options" I believe that gives you everything you asked for except the other quotes away from the BID/ASKED. Of course, during trading hours, the quotes are 15+ minutes delayed.
I own an Apex account at TDAmeritrade. Via that I can find the same info. within real time and can draw from level two information which includes the depth of BID/ASKED.
Hope this help.
