Why do share prices shift up after a pinch over?

Question:

Answer:
because of the cash injection the company should rearrange all round !
Generally because here is a likelyhood of investment by the group that takes over.
Sometimes they do - if the Analysts have a feeling it is a good mix, the stock price will step up; also, if the combinor is offering to purchase the combinee's stock at a price that is better than it is currently trading, people will buy it to capitalize on the edge, sending the price higher
When one company take over another in impossible to tell apart business, it is expected that synergies will result.
For example, you can sack half the support staff of the taken over company, merge the support depts together, and that will be adequate to serve the new larger organisation.
Another synergy is economy of scale - the current larger company will be able to buy supplies contained by greater quantities and land larger discounts.
Synergies result in lower costs, and as a consequence higher profits.
Share prices emulate future profits, and so increase within line.
How say they do?

They will only progress up if the investment community think that the merger be a good model.
I guess that when a takeover bid is announced investors recurrently sell shares within the bidding company and buy those in the target company hoping the bid price may increase especially if another bidder enter the frame.

Also when part of the consideration is surrounded by the bidder's shares and the value of the target shares increase so does the cost to the bidder so here is less plus in the concordat.

Classic thinking claims that mergers or takeovers regularly destroy worth. Rather than making savings from synergies commonly you find two companies with different except incompatile systems and management styles.

So Investors verbs when a takeover is announced hence the fall over in the bidder's share price.

If the capture is not contested and goes smoothly slowly the bazaar will reassess the situation and shares in the enlarged entity will rise especially when the mooted money materialise

is nearby available literature on the subject of 1031 exchanges for REITS?

Question:

Answer:
The best place to go to the IRS (link below):
http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/indu...

The two relevant forms are Pub 544, which will hold the rules in regulations contained by "IRS English" - the not-so-easy to read text. The form you swarm out is the Form 8824.

However, note that 1031 applies lone to the Real Estate Investment Trusts, but not to the owners of REITs for two reasons.

1) The REIT is the one doing the exchanging of property, not you. REITs, as corporate entities, are considered permitted "persons" by the law. They draw from the tax benefit. While the profits flow-through to you, you do not obtain a flow through of the tax benefit directly.

2) Even if they did flow through (which they don't), US Tax Law USC 26, Section 1031, say that exchanges do not apply to certificates of Trust.

Don't panic.. over the years, the stockmarket have gone up & down like a prostitute's knickers adjectives the time, only to rest again. just a situation of holding your nerve, and using it as an opportunity to invest within a few extra shares of companies you're sure are good adequate to come back strongly over time.
verbs it all and invest it within a property
Don't panic - they'll probably jump up again! And down again - just spread the risk, as they right to be heard.
Hang in nearby; they go down, they stir up. Given your age and how close you are to retirement, is your portfolio properly allocated?
You pension hasn't necessarily gone tap. Warren Buffet Arguably the worlds best investor is quoted as saying "if you can't stand to see the plus of your portfolio halved overnight don't invest surrounded by stocks"

Those who follow the matrix trading system will know that Feb 27th was forecast as a primary market turning point. The market came sour a lot on tuesday, but selling steadied toward the wind up of the week. Most forecasters and commentators who are NOT TRADERS hence talk **** on tv shows close to Bloomberg and CNBC are giving mixed reports.

Me personally, I wouldn't touch a income fund, for the following reasons.

1. Most income funds invest in "safe" "steady" stocksTell me a safe and sound and steady stock after tuesday ??

2. Most balanced funds are fundamentally rigid in what they are allowed and disallowed to do. E.G When markets are falling they are barred to sell short.

3. Most fund manager pick up extreme salaries on thoroughly poor performance, again quoting Warren Buffet "the croupiers thieve is often channel over the odds within a lot of these funds"

4. Not adjectives funds are bad, but I believe you should benchmark a fund against a benchmark such as the FTSE. If the FTSE gains 11% over a year and your Fund grows by 9% over indistinguishable period. Net Net you are in fact off side by 2%.

5. ALWAYS REMEMBER that 90% of the time the FAST MONEY make the MONEY. That is people who take in when the going is virtuous, and pull out when the going is bleak, then reinvest when the going get good again. YOUR PENSION FUND WILL NOT DO THIS. Your PENSION is tied up near all the movements up and down.
You thought they be a good investment at a highly developed price so you should definatly be buying more at these levels.
You can engender a lot of money when the market are down too.

Why is it that people are such frenzy prone idiots and lose all sense of genuineness at the drop of a pin?

Iran is 10 years away from building an H-bomb and they reckon it will attack the US and Israel and every one else in verbs. In fact she attacked not a soul since invading ancient Greece, 600 BC. It is the US who made the first bomb and used it and Israel that attacked Iran a few years ago without them retaliating.

So dudes and dudets, hold on to your wits and stop looking for doom in your adjectives and of people to revulsion.

Speak to a mortgage broker, they may own some tricks up their sleeves depending on your previous employment history and financial solvency. The rules are that you do need three years worth of accounts so you may be stuck.

How do businesses salary for the sizeable bonuses to their executives and for the costly mistakes they formulate while us

Question:
ing your hard earn money unwisely in their companies sometimes? What open market action make all of this possible?

Answer:
By increasing the currency in the company's treasury by 1) taking on more debt than otherwise needed or 2) paying stockholders a lower dividend than would otherwise come up or 3) not using the money to expand/help the company (not making acquisitions, not buying newer more restructured equipment, etc) .

TO Box815: Who says they adjectives are making costly mistakes? No one said all, but nearby are way too various. For 1 example, the shareholders and employees of former WorldCom/MCI who watch Bernie Ebbers give himself a $8000 shower curtain, a $5,000 elephant's foot umbrella stand, plus other things adding together up to $180 billion loss for investors. And the SEC is still investigating plenty of companies (I just read around 400 for backdating options). Carl Icahn is also going after many of these executives. All his public investments (and fight with subpar managers) own, since Nov. 2004, increased total shareholder value by over 55 billion dollars.
Who say they're all making costly mistakes? The bonuses come out of revenue generate by the business, or by the value of option generated when the stock price rises because of the profits generate.

If they're generating adjectives that revenue and profit they must not be the dopes you think they are. What else might you be wrong just about?

Gosh, you're also wrong about Bernie Ebbers. The guy you're thinking of be Dennis Koslowski at a completely different company. Bernie Ebbers kept all his money surrounded by WorldCom stock and lost it all. Not truism it shouldn't have but you enjoy your facts wrong. What else might be wrong in your thinking or facts.
It's not a flea market action, it's a statute of the universe: There is plenty of everything that you could ever want.

It's easy to see how negatively you discern about the nouns of others. Just worry going on for getting your success. There's satisfactory for you to be a billionaire AND enough for them to salary their execs and everything else that goes on within the world.

In 1920 there be X amount of money and X amount of people.
Today nearby is more money, more people, more resources, and more tools available - do you see how near is always more than satisfactory?

Get a great idea and achievement on it - make millions and you won't caution about the glum parts of a company like GM or United Airlines, you'll be too busy enjoy first class on a vacation or zip down I-90 in your alien Mustang.

Good Luck!

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how to find out who owns shares of a company-i.e. if I want to find out who owns shares within Verizon or Toyota etc. I would imagine I would just find major shareholders but that's okay.

Thanks.

You can look up the most important shareholders on the firm's annual proxy statements. Go to http://www.sec.gov/edgar/searchedgar/com...

and type in the company first name. On the next eyeshade click on the company that you want (or if may come up on its own if the name is drastically specific). After that you will get a eyeshade that asks for the form type. Type in "Def 14a". This will verbs up a list of adjectives of the past proxy statements that hold been file. Click on [html] to get the most readable edition of the proxy (choose text if html is not available). You will probably want to click on the top selection of the subsequent page (the next page usually includes catalogue of the html proxy along with adjectives of the images that are included surrounded by the proxy). This will bring up the annual proxy. Search for "beneficial". This will usually pull up the ownership of directors, officer, and owners that have more than 5% of the firm's equity. Companies are required to index the owners of more 5% of the firm's equity.

Jim Rogers no longer have anything to do with Quantum. George Soros, the principal partner, doesn't have anything to do next to the daily operation of it any longer any.

Hedge funds are only open out to accredited investors. In directive to be an accredited investor you must own a net worth of $1 million, exclusive of the equity contained by your home, and must have a lattice income of $200,000 for each of the ending 2 years.
They probably dont accept small retail investors. In reality, I highly doubt it.
If you enjoy to ask, they probably won't take you.

Hedge funds are set to a small number of tremendously wealthy investors. They don't transport riff-raff like us.

Is grease slide over? Will we see a recoil on Monday?

Question:

Answer:
No immediate bounce this week, but I meditate we're at the bottom.

I would disagree with Tony S on this one. There is going to be side-bar discussion by OPEC member in smaller amount than two weeks. These meetings are resembling unofficial meetings of OPEC. OPEC, resembling the US Fed, uses these sidebars to foreshadow its next moves. I would expect your more "hawkish" OPEC member like Venezuela and Iran to verbs saying how they'll push for a huge cut and defense at US$60/bbl, while "dovish" member like Saudi Arabia will read out they'll "study the situation" with concern below US$54/bbl next to the consensus being defense essential US$56/bbl. I would say that OPEC would convene an emergency tryst well formerly crude fell to US$45/bbl to stop the bleeding.

While the February 1 cake is already baked with a 500k bbl/day cut, I'm counting on them chitchat more production cuts - who knows the actual amounts, but I'd expect more aggressive ones above 1m bbl/day - near the idea that they'll receive about 50-70% compliance from member, net of cheating.

We should also hold some mean reversion within US Northeast weather with some cold weather settling within over the next few weeks.

Also, Russia is starting to play hardball next to Belarus on oil, resembling they have near Natural Gas in yesteryear. I'd expect a rebound from current level to around $60/bbl by early March, some production adjectives and then wait-and-see for inventory level for crude stocking period for refinery ahead of the US "summer driving season".

A distinct possibility is that the unusually warm winter will also front to a very hot summer and heavily built gasoline/jet kerosene requirements.
I work in the Oil business, own for years and I honestly don't think we'll see much of a spring up on Monday. There's a huge overhang of stockpiles and that's because of the mild weather conditions in much of the U.S. BUT, enjoy no fear, at hand will be a rebound following this month or in February, though not to the high of 05/06. I don't think we'll see those high again until late summer of 07/08. Nonetheless, I would guess that $45 dollar a container is the floor for oil, (not to articulate we'll see that price, but I'd be much surprised if it went below that price).
I hope not... I want the price to plummet so I can buy more more more...

: )

Happy Sunday !!
I agree beside Tony S. I wouldn't however go as far to vote that the floor is around $45, in my judgment we are not too far from the floor only a few $$ when it dropped below $55 briefly concluding week. Again the unusual whether patterns up north have some influence in the price as of behind schedule. But for the future outlook, looking at some telephone call options next to a longer expiration date looks promising. I strongly believe oil will not drop below $55 a firkin.

How frequent shares to time warner (TWX) shareholders receive of Time warner Cable (TWC)?

Question:

Answer:
The information is not yet out and is unlikely to be out by the time your interview expires. But good luck finding out! It really won't situation anyways, as the total value of them will be a function of the pro of the spun off company multiplied by your percentage ownership within Time Warner, which means if the importance of your stake is 500 bucks, and you get 100 shares, respectively will be valued at 5 bucks, but if you get 10 shares, respectively will be valued at 50 bucks. Regardless, you'll get one and the same value. So the number of shares is meaningless.

Vote for me if you agree!
