Under what put circumstance would you put up for sale to close (sell) an preference position?

Question:

Answer:
Hi Skaaaaahhh!

I would sell to close a position if I didn't want to exercise the resort and we were hard by expiration.

Further, I would close out an option position if it (or the underlying) hit any my price target or my stop loss position.

Hope that helps!
You didn't say-so what type of contract you are closing, put or call. "Sell to close" is one course to conclude an option transaction. The other way is to appropriate delivery of, or verbs out the stock itself. This way typically occurs at way out expiration.

So you would sell to close if you want out of the contract back it expires and you do not want to work with the underlying stock.

Under what put circumstance would you buy-to-open (long)?

Question:

Answer:
(1) If I want to take an unhedged bearish position within the underlying and the implied volatility of the option is lower than my expectation of actual volatility of the underlying prior to the expiration of the risk.

(2) If I want to open a spread for the underlying and I inevitability the put option as one of the legs of the spread.

I should also mention that the previous answer be incorrect. It said "You can buy a put if you expect the price of a stock to go down and if it does shift down the price of the put increases."

The price of an option depends on more than direction the stock price moves. The amount of time in the past expiration and the implied volatility of the option also own a big impact on the option price. For example, if you bought a put next to a strike price of $50 for $2 when the undelying stock was $51, and the stock price decline gradually until it reach $49 at the time the option expired, it is rather likely you never would own a chance to go the option for a profit.
You would do this if you expect a stock is going down. A put option give the holder of the contract (long side) the right to sell the stock at the option's strike price.

Example, if ACME stock is $50/share and you cogitate ACME will go down surrounded by price then might buy a $50 put contract. If ACME go below 50 you have the right to "put the stock" (sell it) at $50/share.
You can buy a put if you expect the price of a stock to move about down and if it does go down the price of the put increases.

You can buy a give the name if you expect the price of the stock to go up, and if it does the price of the ring increases.

These are the only two reason to go long on option.

Good Luck,
Dana B.

Should I deal in my Microsoft shares? I hold them surrounded by qualification form...?

Question:
Should I sell my 15 Microsoft shares? Will the price run up? Where is the best place to go to next to the certificates to put on the market them for a good excise. A found a broker that will sell them for $15 even, plus 12 cents a share, is this a appropriate price? Maybe I should sell them on eBay and purely transfer the ownership to the character that wins.

Answer:
Given that you don't enjoy any shares, I would hold onto them and maybe pick up some more on dips. With the topical Vista coming out, I think it might be a slow rise up. I would not dance thru the broker at +15 and .12/share. There are cheaper ones out there. Good luck
No one on the planet (but you) can formulate this choice. no one know if you should sell this stock. If they notify you otherwise, they're fooling you and/or themselves.

$15 + 12 cents a share is not the cheapest way to walk but for one transaction it's "OK". Don't do this through EBay!!

why companies split their shares?

Question:

Answer:
There are two reasons to split the obverse value of the share.
1. When the price of the share is so much within the mind of the public, and people do not want to trade contained by that share hence the liquidity of sale and purchase reduce. To increase the liquidity in the flea market. the face efficacy is reduced by the companies
2. To make the fool of the investors because some of the investor is vigilent something like the split system.
companies split their shares for more liquidity in the souk and companies want to increase their market captilisation
Tax invasion
when the share price is totally high, the liquidity become low. so increase the liquidity the share ll be divided.
There is not a logical ( for me. ) answer to this...They do it to make the shares more affordable to ALL investors ( Look at G00GLEs share price? ) The % comes out alike any way opening you look at it. ( I have owned GOOG.On and stale. ) Also, to create interest in the stock. You are by FAR not the first personality to ask this Q. Y.M.T.I. A.M.Br..10 years 1,000,000. in stock trades..I enjoy to go to bed,and grasp ready for the 9:30 open market open!
The best means of access for a company to raise income (cash) is by issuing more shares. When a stock is selling at a relatively high price they find it advantageous to issue more shares and consequently raise more wherewithal.
In a 2:1 stock split they're in reality issuing stock for half the bazaar price. Effectively raising their bread account.
Its a total psycological verbs the part of the issuing company. When you split your shares, you own more shares outstanding. However, they shares also decrease contained by value so you the network value of said shares remains equal. The reason, however, that this is done is that the price per share across the world declines. This build a purchase more attractive to the general investor. It can work out resourcefully if you hold the shares for some time (buy & hold strategy) and they increase in importance.
to increase liquidity
Simple..

Keep the stock from reaching a price point that is unreachable.

The MOST EXPENSIVE PUBLICLY TRADED STOCK is surrounded by the USA. Let me check current prices.
