What drives race to trade name risky investments such as penny stocks?
Question:
There have be people who enjoy lost everything to unscrupulous brokers who sell house stocks to whoever they can con out of their money. Oh yes, they veto to buy the stocks back and trade their stakes leaving the associates with the loss. It's similar to a MLM scheme from hell really.
Answer:
Two things, ignorance and greed. If anyone falls for this benevolent of scheme, you hold to question their wits!
One word...greed.
They listen to people and hear that they can label a lot of money and they do not do due diligence on their investment. It is laying a bet really.
If you lose everything from investing in penny stocks, after you must not have have much to begin near.
Probably penny share investment magazines. The lower a share price the greater the possible reward but the greater the risk as very well. Spreads are also very elevated Price movements erratic and often sudden. You necessitate to keep and eye on them at most minuscule every day.
are you discussion about OTC stocks? (pink sheets)
People, want to carry rich, and the less experienced they are, the easier it is to return with them to throw their money at stupid investments.
If you have $500, or $1,000, you are not interested within 10% return, Which is a high return. they want to double and triple their money, by tuesday.
So they buy into the best story they hear, or the first story they hear. They don't read the Huge four letter word "R I S K "
or the 6 epistle word "S U C K E R "
Learning to invest, for these people, is an EXPENSIVE lessons.
I invest in penny stocks, seldom because I find most are genuinely not worth even their low price, but sometimes, I do find worthy prospects, but I will admit to have been burned defectively by not doing my research on a few occasions. I hope I'm wiser in a minute.
Recently, I made just over a thousand dollars as a short occupancy gain on a pharmaceutical company with a marketable product already contained by production and able to be shipped. I would hold made about three thousand if I'd held my million shares bought at $0.0007 as they topped out just now at about $0.0035 or so, but I sold them at $0.0018 because I get skittish when the trading volume reached a secure level on a faddy day where on earth they were going up within price rather speedily. (I'd wanted to buy more shares at $0.0007, but nobody required to sell me more shares at that price.) I'd hold no qualms about buying alike company's stock again if it got to a credible level for me. I do muse the company has a honest future, but currently, the price on the stock is a bit elevated for my investment philosophy with the even of risk inherent in such a stock.
At like time, I have lost big money next to penny stocks too, but thats when I truly hadn't done a good post of researching the companies I was investing contained by, one of which turned out to be quite a fraud organism. As they say, "buyer beware", and look out for yourself, because within the penny stock and sub-penny stock market, nobody else will.
Where can I invest $10K near low/no risk and cause a minimum of 5% interest?
Question:
Answer:
Low/No Risk. Fixed Annuities. Tax Deferred and we currently are paying 6.5% 1st year guaranteed. This is not for people who need to spend this money in a year. Long Term money with an Insurance Company not a mound or brokerage firm. No fees and 100% guaranteed not to lose a dime
In my bank statement!! Call me.
You should check out ING DIRECT they have 5.10%apr on their 12month disc.
Treasury Bonds/Bills, Muni's, SOME cdsbut cds will not pay you a great deal with singular $10K
Rememeber that with CDs, you will own to pay taxes..so if a disc is paying say 5.10%, your TRUE return will be much lower
This is how you amount out:
Let's say you want a export tax free return of 5%--you would get this near muni's and treasuries, BUT CDs and corporate bonds tax you...so here is how this is done...
The formula is:
TAX FREE YIELD
------------------------ = EQUIVALENT TAXABLE YIELD
100 - YOUR TAX RATE
So near this in mind, if you are within say 33% levy bracket, for you to get 5% after rates return, your CD or corporate bond would enjoy to pay you 5/(100-33) = 7.46% return which is intensely hard to find.
Hope that help!
GO TO YOUR LOCAL BANK, THAT IS THE BEST YOU CAN GET 5% ANNUAL INTS.- NOT RISK.- GREG.
in the ridge they give between 4 to 6 % it depends of the amount you put ,,also you can receive a good percentage but i focus you must wait 1 year to enjoy your interest in the Treasury Bonds/Bills..
Money flea market accounts today are yielding close to 5% and are nothing risk, for 10k you should be able to catch 5-6% in compact disc investments as well. You could also consider no nouns mutual funds, which are riskier then money open market accounts or CDs, but if you do not need access to this money for a year or 2 I would dance this route, something with a large morning star rating, low risk, moderate return, type fund. Mutual funds are much less risky (depending on the fund) next just putting the money contained by 1 or 2 stocks. Bonds are another relatively low risk option for you to consider. No issue what you decide, the best instrument to reduce risk and maximize the return your looking for is to do some homework, properly research where on earth you'll be putting your money.
I would suggest you to invest in stocks. Check the website http://money-review-site.com/shares.html...
to revise more on shares and stock trading and how to select the best stocks.
Hope it helps

If you want to invest $10,000 near very low risk, I would suggest you to invest within Certificate of Deposit. You won't be able to catch pay abundantly with 10,000, it's in the order of a few dollars. If you do invest in compact disc, you may have to report your earn to the IRS and pay duty which can lower your earning! Once you invest surrounded by CDs and pick the term (length of time you are feeling like to leave it in attendance without withdrawing it), you won't be capable of withdraw it unless you want to money a penalty duty for withdrawing.
I would also deposit in the money bazaar account since you can go and get high dividend payout and you can cancel it!
If you want to earn more money, I would rather purely invest in mutual fonds or bonds!

What is a home mortgage?
Question:
What is it? And what are some of the terms associated near it? I still rent an apartment so when it comes time for me to take the subsequent step I'd like to know what the lingo is. I've also hear the terms refinance and 2nd and 3rd mortgage, what do these propose?
Answer:
A mortgage is the monies borrowed to finance a home.
A refinance is when you own a home and want to find another lender next to perhaps a better interest rate or a shorter or longer residence.
A 2nd mortgage is another loan taken out which takes the second position aft the 1st mortgage. A 3rd mortgage takes the 3rd position.
Some lingo you will entail to know is
Good faith estimate. That is what your mortgage lender must put in the picture you about the cost to nouns your loan.
Truth-in-lending statement, which tells you the amount you will money over the life of the loan and what your Annual Percentage Rate (APR) is.
Also, title insurance, protects you if the property have any previous ownership problems if you purchase owners title insurance. Your mortgage lender will require title insurance to cover their interest. As inexpensive as it is, it is to your advantage to purchase owner title insurance also.
Escrow accounts are what the lenders may require you to enjoy so they can directly pay insurance, taxes etc.
PMI may be required if your down grant is less than 20%.
Loan to appeal (LTV) is the ratio between how much you borrow to the value of the residence.
mortage is a moment ago a fancy word for home loan. as for the rest, I dont know because I just asked my mom going on for the house buying thing myself. I enjoy a lot to swot too!
How can I check how several shares a company sold on the open market per daylight? I can see volume indicators and their?
Question:
numbers, so I know shares changed hands. But this could be shares bought or sold!? How do I narrate the total number of shares that were specifically bought or specifically sold at a focused volume indicator?
Answer:
It is not company that sell shares. It is the investors. For every buyer in attendance is a seller. Divide the number by 2 and you will catch how much sold and how much bought. ie; Volume/2
First -- it is not the company that buys and sells shares (usually) it is the individuals who already own the shares.
If the company is a NASDAQ stock -- then divide the number by two to attain the number of shares traded. This is because the market-makers report both sides of the trade. If you sell 1000 shares, they buy it and report that 1000 shares traded. If they trade it to someone else, then they report that trade, too -- so your mart gets reporeted as 2000 shares.
If the company is exchange tabled (e.g., NYSE or AMEX), then the volume is the total number of shares that be traded. This is because the specialist only reports the trade once, not twice.

MBA project topics base on stock flea market?
Question:
Answer:
When will the next big crash crop up?
Do it on predicting the next crash using "Crash Metrics." Studies own found that the market become highly correlated right beforehand a crash. I would back examination several indices (S&P, NASDAQ, NYSE) and create a moving 30 day correlation or r-square. "Crash Metrics" be coined by Paul Wilmott (www.wilmott.com) -- a very capably known financial swing. He has several papers on the topic on his site.
You could also criticize the Black Scholes odds pricing model, since it does not consider dynamic volatile or anomalies, such as the volatility smile.
What is the most modern website to check the investment of buyebarrel??

I have get info from people that buyebarrel is fixing some virus problem and will come up again.Well we adjectives hope for that!
I would be worried if their websites don't work. In fact, I would be terribly worried... I've seen some reports that this "buyebarrel" may surrounded by fact be of late another scam, a sort of Ponzi scheme, designed to relieve general public of their investment money, never to return it.

If $10,000 of Chrysler stock be purchased at a share price of $10.00 contained by 1980 what would be its convenience very soon '07?
Question:
Answer:
Chrysler is now DaimlerChrysler AG (symbol DCX). Today's flea market closed at $60.06 per share.
how many shares do you currently hold, stocks could hold split. I think they file for brankruptcy protection a while back so you could be holding nil more than toilet paper.
If you denote GM stock, I'd say something like the same amount.
If I you have 10,000$ to invest surrounded by something within the hopes of making a profit, what would you invest it within?
Question:
Answer:
Well, you did not mention how much of a profit you had contained by mind.
T-bills will give you roughly 5%, the after tax powerful rate is actually pretty accurate because the interest is exempt from state and local taxes. No hope of making a profit here. It is a sure thing.
Mutual funds, especially if you select almost 3 different funds, will offer you the potential of just about 10% to 13% probably annual profit over a period of 10 years. Over shorter period of time the profit may be more and it may be less. During unquestionable years it may be negative. The probability base on past history is in the region of 85%. There is some argument that past history may not be a well brought-up indication. No one really knows what the adjectives might have within store for us.
Oil stocks have a pretty apt record of consistant returns. And mound stocks also. In oils at hand are plenty to choose from XOM the world's largest. APC, COP, DVN and many others.
Banks own a long record of consistent steady yield. BAC, C, USB, BBT are several that come to mind. There are a lot of others.
Now if you enjoy a hard time making up your mind and do not know which path to turn, there are the index funds. Buy a slice of the S&P 500 within the form of SPY or a slice of the small cap index surrounded by the form of IWM or even the mid cap index (I forget the ticker symbol). Sort of move about with the flow.
My freind, nearby is no better investment on this planet than property investments, anything you buy these days will move about up in effectiveness short or long term (it is locked and secure) if you can get a return from a property it is a bonus (rent)
anything essential or not far from the beach is both thumbs up no event how big or small it is,
You can never loose, these days money have no real effectiveness, but assets/propertys have.
why am i writing here in good health, i will be quick, i made profusely of money with property investments, than i thought i play the shares approaching all my loved ones and freinds and guess what folks, i lost it all i be on zero, so i started very soon building my portfolio of investments just close to i did earlier on within my years, and things are looking up. One thing is for sure, i will never invest contained by shares again, i am useless at it i admit plus shares are not a necessaty to citizens so they go up and down, property is... everyone wishes somewhere to stay, and the only ethnic group that lost in property is the ones that sold this is how i see it
Well, well-mannered luck in which road you settle on to follow :)
ARMY TANKS FOR WAR...
Listen, its 10k. Its probably important to you. Don't put it within stocks. you'll probably lose it
Short term.
1) Best break for short term, Bank disc or bond. for 6 months you can get 5-6 percent for 6 months to a year... not plentifully of money. but Guaranteed capital.
2) Or find someone who have a good theory. A solid good opinion, and ask to join him and you're within for a percentage of the profit. for months to a year. High risk...
But the best and easiest thing to do is choose a accurate mutual fund, or ask someone for help, and preserve the money in near long term. It'll be worth deeply in 20-30 years, and you'll really appreciate it next.
As for property. Listen if you have 10 big ones. and you live contained by a little town, and with the sole purpose then would I speak go ahead, buy something worth 30-50 Grand. put down 10% (3000 to 5000) some for down compensation, and try to rent. Remember, you need the renter, and you may entail cash for within case anything breaks, so you enjoy 5000 for that... you can try it. but you will have in the region of the same amount when you are done paying stale the mortgage as you will on a mutual fund of 20 years. Do you need the headache?? Tenants, not necessarily will the appeal will appreciate, etc etc...
too much to write all here..
check out bankrate.com for alot of investment tools...
10k Hmmm stockpile save gather.
You wont get much property for 10k and I agree stocks can be risky to the student investor you might consider gold here is a finite supply and I doubt it will ever loose its appeal just look at the open market trends and try not to buy during the peaks it not a short occupancy investment typically do some research first.
if you just want a profit, do T-Bills. Free money almost.
Your most influential investment would be your education. Use the money to train yourself. After that, it would depend on three things 1) your risk tolerance, 2) your investment time horizon, and 3) your goals. The more you can tolerate risk, consequence your investment going up and down without shifting your strategy, and the longer your time horizon, the more you should lean toward stocks. If you are risk intolerant, or will need the money shortly (i.e. smaller amount than about 5-7 years), you should lean toward fixed investments, such as CD's and/or money market.
If the money is for retirement, you should put up to the max per year into an IRA (assuming you have earn income). This will allow you to avoid paying taxes on any earnings for years, or decades. You might want to consider a low cost targeted retirement fund, such as those offered by Vanguard.
If you obtain in the stock souk, it's best to come up with a long residence strategy. Don't jerk your money from stock to stock or fund to fund, it's not some wacky board hobby where you're constantly making moves base on daily communication. That's a fool's game, and you'll see plenty of fools playing it. Pick a few diversified funds, preferably index funds next to very low costs, and stick near them for a decade or two regardless of daily results.
The stock souk averages 10.5% return per year, on average. This means you money doubles every 7 years on average. So, surrounded by 14 years, your $10,000 should be $40,000, or so, on average, if you pick a diversified fund and stick with it.
Any other strategy is having a bet. I noticed someone mentioned concrete estate. That has a place, probably, for some of your funds, but beware those, as the person who responded here, who perceive about valid estate like some would quality about their religion, beside zealotry they believe in regardless of mortified facts.
Good luck.
DIA.
"Stocks will rise and fall; utilities and transportation systems will crumble, and those are no damn good. But they will alway call for land, and they will settle up through the nose to acquire it." -- Lex Luthor
contrary to lex's sage advice, you won't return with a lot of valid estate for $10,000 US. So if you want to invest, the stock market is as apt a place as any...it has risen in principle steadily over the last 75 years. newly make sure you do your homework and be darn sure that you are DIVERSIFIED!

The U.S. District court in San Diego, California, ruled that Microsoft must reimburse Alcatel-Lucent US$1.52 billion in damages for infringing on MP3 encoding and decode patents. Should Microsoft lose an anticipated appeal on the ruling, it may imply more than a hit to the software company's bottom line. It could also splodge the beginning of lawsuits against other companies that conjecture they have properly licensed MP3 technology.
Computerworld reports that the Alcatel-Lucent lawsuit started within 2003 and originally claimed that Dell and Gateway Computer were infringing on 15 patent with technology used in the Windows operating system. In an challenge to discourage suits against companies that resell its operating system, Microsoft filed a declaratory movement stating that it should be targeted with a suit. Will Euro ever debilitate against the USD?When?
Question:
Answer:
Possibly. But likely not because the US continues to overspend billions of dollars. The debt is gigantic.
Keep surrounded by mind that the US Dollar and the Euro are negatively correlated against each other. So when the Us Dollar go down the Euro goes up and visa versa. If you look at a chart you will see 2002 and even portions of 2003 the Euro was hitting adjectives time high es against the US Dollar. I focus the US Dollar is over purchased right now. The Stock Market continues to break exotic all time illustrious es, Gold and Oil prices continue to surge, and here is strong indications that the housing sector is still going to be a buyers market for some time to come.
No.
lb27.000, best investment?
Question:
My husband has taken hasty retirement, he will be 57 this year.
We would like to accumulate it for a few years and get the best relinquish.
Thank you for any sensible advice.
Answer:
I estimate you should invest it wisely and use the income too boost your income and leave the property to your offspring, for their allowance. So:
When you get the money, invest lb3000 respectively of you, into Mini Cash ISAs paying about 6% pa. due free and the rest in lolly deposit also paying 6% but liable to tax. Each financial year verbs lb3000 each into Mini Cash ISAs, protecting them from levy. In the end you will hold the whole sum pliable 6% (or lb1620 pa) secure, rates free, income. Have a happy retirement.
I estimate best as it is big money. Check your country's stock market and investment sites reliable and back by government.
See an independent financial tutor (IFA) for good suggestion. What you should do with the funds depends on so much similar to, what access you want to the funds, your attitude to investment risk and how long you want to invest for.
did you mean 27000 pounds. The sensible guidance would be DO NOT RETIRE. This money can be invested in guard at low interest rate but would keep your money secured. you can invest it surrounded by mutual funds, stock market but near are no guarantees with the above as marketplace crashes and everything tumbles.
There is always the consideration of Taxable income, so, if you are a speculator and don't want to pay envelope any tax on profit, you could do worse that buy Premium Savings Bonds, 27000 likelihood each month to win anything from lb50 to lb1M. Our give up on lb30000 is currently 8.75% per annum for the last 4 years beside no tax payable. Oh! That's both of us so on lb60000 we are netting 17.5%.
Scottish widows own a very virtuous investment plans .
Abbey and Halifax, ISAS and bonds for 2 to 5 years for maximum gain.
I would put some into Premium Bonds. If you put 10,000 pounds in you attain 10,000 pounds back when you want to call off the bonds. ( I think near a very small interest nowadays). Apparently you should win as much as the interest you would gain contained by a savings report.
Unless you win one of the million pound jackpots!
With this amount of money it is probably worth spending a few hundred pounds to obtain advice from an I.F.A.= Independent Financial Adviser. Make sure he/she is competent to choose from all suppliers not newly a few. As each folks affairs are different one cannot give proposal without knowing a great deal about your financial position. Good luck.

Microsoft MP3 Ruling Could Spell Trouble for Other Companies
Friday, February 23rd, 2007 at 9:45 AM - by Jeff Gamet
The U.S. District court within San Diego, California, ruled that Microsoft must pay Alcatel-Lucent US$1.52 billion contained by damages for infringing on MP3 encoding and decoding patent. Should Microsoft lose an anticipated appeal on the ruling, it may mean more than a hit to the software company's bottom row. It could also mark the foundation of lawsuits against other companies that think they own properly licensed MP3 technology.
Computerworld reports that the Alcatel-Lucent lawsuit started in 2003 and originally claimed that Dell and Gateway Computer be infringing on 15 patents beside technologies used within the Windows operating system. In an effort to discourage suits against companies that resell its operating system, Microsoft file a declaratory action stating that it should be targeted near a suit. Alcatel-Lucent bit and sued Microsoft.
The court ruled that Microsoft's Windows operating system does infringe on Alcatel-Lucent patents that relate to MP3 technology. Microsoft contends that it properly licensed the technology for encoding audio files from Fraunhofer. The German company co-developed the technology next to Bell Labs, which later become Lucent, and now is Alcatel-Lucent.
