Investment Math Problem Help?

Jim has $15,000 invested within two funds paying 9% and 11% simple interest, respectively. How much is investeted in respectively if the yearly interest is $1582.50?

How much should I hold to start investing surrounded by the Stock marketplace?

Answers:   If he invested x dollars at 11%, consequently he invested 15000 - x dollars at 9%.
His interest at 11% is 0.11x.
His interest at 9% is 0.09(15000 - x).
Put together, they add up to $1,582.50, so

0.11x + 0.09(15000 - x) = 1582.50
0.11x + 1350 - 0.09x = 1582.50
0.02x = 232.50
x = $11,625

So Jim invested $11,625 at 11%. The rest ($3,375) be invested at 9%.

I expect the price of stock to leak. do i buy call or puts?

Let X= the amount invested in Fund #1, and (15,000 - X)= the amount invested contained by Fund #2.
Then .09X+ (15000-X)*0.11 = $1582.50
.09X +1650 -.11X = 1582.50
-.02X = -67.50
.02X = 67.50
X + 3375
So 3375 is invested in the fund paying 9%, and it earn $303.75. $11,625 is invested in the fund paying 11%, and it earn $1278.75. Add the two earnings together, and you seize $1582.50.
