Answers: I would want to be contained by minerals, energy, and commodities. I would look for most of my investments to be surrounded by major foreign or multinationals.
I would probably want to be surrounded by long term bonds if this happen.
Having said that, since I don't think this will come to pass, I will stick with my asset allocation plan.
The countries that hold our debt, also flog vast amounts of products to the u.s., they are unlikely to do this. Why - because their economy are intertwined with ours. Our cutback goes belly-up, so does theirs.
