FTE (Full Time Employee) or Contractor ?

I've been working as a contractor earn $575 a day plus reimbursed expenses for lodging, vehicle rental and gas. In 2007, I worked a total of 214 days ($123,050 in earn income as reported on my 1099-MISC). Over the course of the year, I had $23,000 within expenses which were reimbursed (and not taxed). The company immediately wants to bring me on as a FTE at $130K / year beside full benefits (healthcare, 3 wks vacation, 50% game on 401k up to 10% of wages, SPP, etc.) plus a sign-on bonus of $20K. I currently pay $13,500 a year out of pocket for a private PPO. As a contractor I be able to contribute a roomy amount into a self employed 401k account as both employer and member of staff. As a FTE, I’ll have to reward for an apartment rental and car expenses in need any reimbursement (about $1,600 / month). Can anyone offer some insight from a financial as economically as a practical perspective whether I should accept the donate or continue working as a contractor.


Answers: It sounds to me close to you have a great setup as a contractor. However, it also sounds resembling the company may be finding it more cost effective to hire you or enjoy to hire you to meet the IRS rules.

Here is the answer to the press. Do you have other job that will keep you OK financially? If this contract opening was your sole source of income and you own not other customers or income potential, it sounds like you may stipulation to take this duty. Of course, I am assuming that the company you are currently working for will not be able to hold you on as a contractor (keep in mind that they may suffer IRS consequences/penalties if they save you on for more than 18 months), thus the possible reason they are offering you the opportunity. If you have other customers and you can afford to take off this company, and your independence is amazingly important to you, consequently you may want to turn it down.

Of course, everything I've said is based on financials. The equally esteemed question is whether or not you are arranged to give up your nouns and possible flexibility. If the company will continue to contribute you the non-financial benefits you currently enjoy (possibly telecommuting flexibility, nouns to work with other customers, etc.), later taking the job may not be so unpromising.

I'm sorry if I haven't given you a direct answer. First, it is not really anybody but your decision to product. Secondly, I am working with smaller quantity than total information (i.e., what is important to you, do you consider you would like to hold this job as potential sole income, can you business deal with the corporate structure, etc.).

FTE is best for people who own no self-confidence.
Contractor have great adjectives - no retirement - no firing - have alternatives - hold many option for expansion.

Do low cost airlines compromise next to the safekeeping of their passenger?

Plz. support ur answer with facts & info,quote incidents supporting this fact near the name of the airlines.


Answers: Not if they want to state a viable business.
Not if they want to avoid multi-million dollar lawsuits.
Not if they want to maintain nouns worthiness certification from the FAA.
Depends on what factor they have worked upon to rationalize overhead costs. For. ex: if an Airline charges you an extra k for some music, excellently groomed hostesses/stewards, extra smiles,'free' package mineral water and a pouch beside toffees, napkins etc... (not just for one on schedule)... they can be best described as a luxury airline where human being on time and billing correctly is individual a basic pre-requisite ; and not the one and only good service offered. If here is an airline which cuts down on all this, (allows you to fetch your own water/may have to charge you if you ask for some) but ensure that you reach Kolkata from Mumbai in 2-2.5 hours for a considerable but fraction of the cost - the question is ' why would someone's life span be in threat ?' It's the difference between a state bus and a Volvo... LOL!

United States Postal Service Question to UK.?

Does anyone know, if something is sent by USPS Priority Mail service, do you know what courier takes over once the item reach the United Kingdom?


Answers: My understanding is that Royal Mail take over once it's delivered to them.

If you're trying to track a bundle, however, I believe your point-of-contact is the USPS, if that was who you shipped beside.
We have UPS within UK, so presumably it would be delivered by UPS UK..but I'm not 100 percent sure. Makes sense, though.
