Answers: Nope --- they are all scams to get you to send them money. Machines can stuff envelopes much more efficiently than someone sitting at home.

Answers: There's a lot -- especially the smaller non profits. Don't go to non profits that have an army of development staffers (I know of one which has a team for each region in the US, a team focusing on those who wish to include the foundation in the will so when the person dies the foundation gets its share, etc)
Go to Guidestar http://www.guidestar.org and search for non profits by state. Talk to the smaller ones first, they are most likely going to need help in fundraising

What is a polite price to ask for antique dining furniture?
I have an antique (1920 +/-) Duncan Phyfe style dining room set that I want to go. I'm having a difficult time trying to find an appraiser contained by my area (SE Michigan) who's interested within giving an appraisal only. I run into mostly antique dealer that just want to give a price so they can turn around and resell it for double. What would be a reasonable price to ask for a solid mahogony dining room set (table, 6 chairs, china cabinet, buffet) surrounded by good condition?Answers: You answered your own sound out. Get antique dealers to volunteer what they want to pay, later advertise the items at double the amount. If the price is possible and someone is interested, they will buy. If you get no responses, lower the price. the antique dealer are in business to kind a profit. They may have to preserve the item for along time in their store. they hold operating expenses to cover. so don't begrudge them the profit they get.
The fair convenience of any item is determined when a buyer offers a price and the salesperson accepts it. For one-off items such as yours, you can set any price you want, but you will get with the sole purpose what someone is willing to remuneration.
