THE EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
the executivve summary is the first oart tht appeears on a business plan. its basically a short summary that briefly overveiws your entire plan. finish everything and then come back to this part. this will be your basic presentation. your business plan should also be handed in report stye including a cover page. you wil also hand in note pages of your presentation.
BACKGROUND
here we begin describing the business. first part is the business description is the background, tell the story of the business and your business idea. for example, you can talk about what you saw as a need, how did you recognize it and where do you see the oppertunity, how you cam up with the idea? what do you see your bussiness doing now, breifly in terms of products and services, where do you see your business going - the "vision"
PRODUCTS OR SERVICES
the next part in the business desription is the description of products or services that your business sells/if the business is a products business, focus on making it clear what products you are selling. if you sell t-shirts, talk abut the t-shirts, for example you might explain that you will create custom designs, as well as do some re-selling of pre made shirts. if you are in service orientes busines, for example web design, talk abuot what you will do, what are the services, what are the technical features you plan to be able to do for client websites. in this section, you will also include a prototype of your business cards with your company logo on it. also justify why you are selling your product or service in this particular place. forexample, you ma decide to sell your service in miami or surrounding ton becasue there are older people moving there and they are the best customers for your product or service.
LEGAL
answer basic legal info such as where your business is located, what type of legal structure - sole proprietorship, partenership or corperation? if there are permits you need or licenses in order to legally run your business, ake sure you note them to show you've coverrd the legal aspects.
MARKET AND MANAGMENT STRATEGY
the marketing comes in two parts. the first part is where you talk abut the market. here is where you show that you've done some research and found that there is really a need for your business, so that if and when you open your business, you wont be selling things that poeple dont want to buy. talk about the customer or clients - who are yuo selling to? if there are different catagories of people, talk about the characteristics of each category. wh they need you prduct or service?
secondly, after you've proventhat people will buy such products and services, you then have to talk about how they will know to buy from you, specifically. ho will you get people who need such products, to buy from you and not some other competitor who can meet thier needs? talk abuot your plans on how to reach your customars, how you will get peple in those catagories to come to you for business. how will you try to get them to know about your business, in order to start buying from you, and coming back to you? you will also need to come up with and describe an event that yo plan on doing for opening day. you will need to develop and advertisement that you will use to get peopls to attend yur function as well.
MANAGEMENT TEAM
the management team section is the section where the key people, and theirn roles in the business are explaned. start first by listing a short bio of each person, to show there is relevant back ground in the business.
OPERATIONS
this is the part where you answer anything to do with the "how: of the business. you can make it as complicated or simple as you want, depending on you fell you need. here you would find possibly flow charts and diagrams of im portant wrkings in ur business, to show generally what the important things are, how things move from A to B. thwere and how are things bought, where and how will they get to be sold to the customer? please include a possible floor plan for you store in this section .
FINANCIALS - STARTUP COSTS (last section)
Mentioned last but not least, the financial info abut your business will explain all the details of how much money comes in, how much goes out and how much is spent. do the finanials becasue the whole business rests on how well your money is working for you, and you dont want to end up starting a business that wont make money.

There are several consulting services that would be able to assist you in writing one. However typically they are very costly. Check with your local chamber, SBDC or SCORE office or see if a local community college has an entrepreneurial office for a local recommendation.
