UK consumers have massive power. If single they knew how we used to flex our muscles stern in olden times. Look, if the price of beef is up, do not buy any for a week. Next week the price will rocket down - believe me. It has happen before and it can start again. Don't let big biz boss us in the order of. Join forces with other consumers to boycot bank and businesses who treat us like shite.
What we entail is a UK Consumer's Union - say annual tax of about lb25. What the Union does is to ask it's member to vote on whether or not to boycott a paricular business and/or bank which have done the dirty to it's customers.
If you go to Which.com (a consumer group) they enjoy loads of info on this subject & good guidance on how to claim.
What happen to the HOTOL project?
the last hear was in the order of maybe 15 years age when it be reported that Rolls Royce had put ten million pounds sterling into the project.Answers: Despite the disaster of HOTOL itself, the basic notion still lives on even today in the form of a unsullied vehicle called Skylon. Shortly after the reversal of HOTOL in 1988, member of the Rolls Royce engine design team approved to form a new company, Reaction Engines Ltd., to verbs developing the HOTOL concept. Led by Alan Bond, Reaction Engines developed a new better version of the RB545 engine call the SABRE (Synergic Air Breathing Engine).
Antonov also investigated developing a more capable derivative of the An-225 call the An-325 with two more engines that could carry a greater payload and possibly launch a larger interpretation of HOTOL or a Russian vehicle. Unfortunately, Interim HOTOL fared little better than its predecessor and be cancelled in 1992 due to a shortage of interest from either the European Space Agency (ESA) or the UK governing body.
I was wondering that myself.
I saw something within a newspaper just now that said an aircraft was individual dreamed up that would do 4000MPH and reach Australia contained by 4 or 5 hours. The Hotol Rocket would supposedly do it in 25 minutes!
These thinking seem to come and progress - just look at Howard Hughes' Sprucegoose.
