General Business Questions and Answers

Could you convert these monthly salary to weekly and hourly?

assuming a 38 hour week

a. $2480

b. $5100

I think i own the answer but im not sure on the working out.

Answers: The calculating out to a yearly rate is required due to varying number of weeks per month.
here go -
a/
$2480 x 12 (months) = $29760
Divide by 52 weeks = $572.31 - this is the weekly rate
Divide $572.31 x 38 = $15.06 per hour

b/
$5100 x 12 (months)= $61200
Divided by 52 weeks = $1176.92 - weekly rate
Divide $1176.92 by 38 = $30.97 per hour

These are rounded rates if you require the complete answer, try the calculations yourself ;)

Also bring into account that any answer assuming 4 weeks per Month would require a 13 Month year.
Assuming you work 5 days a week, 4 weeks a month:

A. 620 week, 16.32 hour

B.1275 week, 33.55 hour
Ans:
assumption 4 weeks per month
Weekly: $2480/4 = $620
Hourly: $620/38 = $16.316
Revert support: $16.316*38*4 = $2480.032
= $2480 (absolute value)

Weekly: $5100/4 = $1275
Hourly: $1275/38 = $33.553
Revert back: $33.553*38*4 = $5100.056
= $5100 (absolute value)
The answers are approximate because they depend on the assumption you form, e.g. 4 weeks per month or 52 weeks per year, 40 hrs per week, etc

(2480 x 12) / 52 = $572.31 / week
but assuming 2 weeks vacation / year
(2480 x 12) / 50 = $595.20 / week

At 4 weeks per month: 2480 / 4 = $620 / week

$572.31 / 40 = $14.31 / hr
$620 / 40 = $15.50 / hr

Similar calculation for the second one.
A.

2480 x 12(months)

29760(year salary) divided by 52(weeks)

572.31(week pay) divided by 38(hours a week)

= 15.06 hr

figure "B" out...

[EDIT]

I love how general public get thumbs down for the "right" answers..

4 weeks per month equals 48 weeks btw..There's 52 weeks a year.
There are several answers but it will depend on the method used and the rounding out method also. Each employer will use different round off method, but the canon says that adjectives employee must be treated duplicate and should be informed of how the salary is salaried monthly /weekly or hourly. Base on that the rate is posted on the pay slip.

This will depend on the month but using 30 light of day month.

38 x 4 = 152 hours plus approximately 2 days.

5 days working week so one day is 1/5 and 2 days = 2/5

So 38 x 2/5 =15.2 hours.
So moth is approximately 15.2 + 152 = 167.2 hours within a month.

So round it off to 167 hours per month.

But you can ask your professor how it should be done.
**********
12 months in a year and 52 weeks within a year + 1 or 2 days depend on leap year or regular year.

But just neglect the 1 or 2 days.

For a, (2480 x 12)/52 = 572.30 weekly.

So 572.30/38 = 15.06 an hour, say 15/ hour rounded past its sell-by date.
