Bush beef up protection against cyber attacks? what's your belief?

President Bush promised to frugal budget proposal to at an estimated 6 billion dollars to build a secretive system protecting U.S communication network’s from attacks by cyber terrorists, spies, and hackers.

Answers: It's in the region of time.

The US must learn its course from the cyber attack against Estonia in May 2007, where on earth the Kremlin was suspected of launching. The attack within Estonia targeted the Web sites of banks, telecommunication companies, medium outlets, and government agencies, eventually forcing the country to block adjectives foreign Internet traffic. http://www.iht.com/articles/2007/05/17/n...

Then there's the China factor. Washington Post reported on the sophisticated cyber-espionage effort certain as Titan Rain, which downloaded information from hundreds of unclas-sified defense and civilian networks in the US. The Washington Post article said that "Web sites within China are being used heavily to target computer networks contained by the Defense Department and other U.S." agencieshttp://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/con...

The Internet has changed the bearing people shop. Unfortunately, it can also be a tool for attacking other countries. This is one policy move that I agree next to.

Direct write off method vs the allowance method in?

Answers: Business owners know that some customers who receive credit will never pay their account balances. These uncollectible accounts are also called bad debts. Companies use two methods to account for bad debts: the direct write-off method and the allowance method.

Direct write-off method. For tax purposes, companies must use the direct write-off method, under which bad debts are recognized only after the company is certain the debt will not be paid. Before determining that an account balance is uncollectible, a company generally makes several attempts to collect the debt from the customer. Recognizing the bad debt requires a journal entry that increases a bad debts expense account and decreases accounts receivable.

Allowance method. Under the allowance method, an adjustment is made at the end of each accounting period to estimate bad debts based on the business activity from that accounting period. Established companies rely on past experience to estimate unrealized bad debts, but new companies must rely on published industry averages until they have sufficient experience to make their own estimates.

The adjusting entry to estimate the expected value of bad debts does not reduce accounts receivable directly. Accounts receivable is a control account that must have the same balance as the combined balance of every individual account in the accounts receivable subsidiary ledger. Since the specific customer accounts that will become uncollectible are not yet known when the adjusting entry is made, a contra-asset account named allowance for bad debts, which is sometimes called allowance for doubtful accounts, is subtracted from accounts receivable to show the net realizable value of accounts receivable on the balance sheet.

If at the end of its first accounting period a company estimates that $5,000 in accounts receivable will become uncollectible, the necessary adjusting entry debits bad debts expense for $5,000 and credits allowance for bad debts for $5,000.

The attached lecture shows you illustrations of the general journal and general ledger and how it's done.

Most work from home type jobs require you to start you own business. All of them will require work and training. I suggest the key is to find a business that have a proven process that others have be successful. That way you can duplicate it for your own home business. Many of the jamboree type companies provide training and process. The next item to consider with a gala type company is if the products are consumable. Example: Candle Type Company is fun, but not every has to hold a candle so you may not get repeat business. Companies resembling Avon, Mary Kay, and Arbonne are really great companies that offer consumable products and will create repeat customers. Once again they provide training and a proven process.

I be looking for a work from home type business and I researched what I just mentioned above. I chose be Arbonne International.
