to send direct letters to people to ballyhoo do I have to buy name and ad's from a mailing catalogue company or can i just distribute it to random name and ad's out the phone book for example? would it be illegal if i didn't receive the names and ad's from a mail list facts base?please facilitate!

The Provision for loss on disposal of Land & Building account comes under which account(In B/S or P&L) ?
Answers: A provision would be a balance sheet account, but it's odd to set up such an account. If the value of the land & bldg has fallen, an impairment loss should have been recognised in the income statement. That achieves the same purpose. The journal entry would have been:
Dr Impairment loss on land & bldg xxx
Cr Accumulated impairment loss xxx
The land & bldg would then be stated at cost less accumulated depreciation less accd impairment loss.
