Can someone explain how to calculate LIFO or FILO? The bit I am getting stuck on is where the number for inventory is coming from if that make sense. For example... 9/1 beginning inventory 5 (boats) $1500 cost per boat total cost is $7500; 10/7 8, $1600, $12800; 3/12, 1650, 19800. How does the book come up near pricing the boats by 8 then splitting that up within half?Answers: Would you resembling to post the whole cross-examine?
9/1 beg. inventory 5 (boats) (a) $1500 ea. total cost $7500;
10/7 Purchased 8 boats (a) $1600 ea. total cost $12800; 3/12, 1650, 19800
The 1st 2 lines are unproblematic, just multiply the cost per section by the no. of units and you capture total cost. But the 3rd line is missing something. How plentiful units be purchased? It looks like 12 (a) $1,650 since that give you total cost of $19,800.
But what's the question? Since it appears that nil was sold, whether you use FIFO or LIFO, the total cost of adjectives the inventory wld be the same, $40,100
