Why operation management important?




Answers: Operations Management explores the way organizations produce and distribute goods and services. Everything you wear, eat, sit on, use or read comes to you courtesy of the operations managers who organized its production and distribution. Goods such as automobiles, airplanes, computers and houses, must be produced, as do the services provided by hospitals, ski resorts, trucks, and airlines. It's the job of an operations manager to make sure these activities occur when and how they are planned.

This explanation reflects the essential nature of operations management: it is the central activity in organizing things. Operations Management is the systematic development and control of the processes that transform inputs into goods and services. The operations function comprises a significant percentage of the employees and physical assets in most organizations. Operations Managers are concerned with each step in providing a product or service. They determine what should go into an operating system, such as equipment, labour, facilities, materials, energy, and information, to produce the output. Operations Managers are also responsible for critical activities such as materials management, capacity planning, purchasing, scheduling and quality.

The importance of Operations Management has increased dramatically in recent years. Significant competition, shorter product and service life cycles, better educated and quality-conscious consumers, and the capabilities of new technology have placed pressures on the operations function to improve productivity while providing a broader array of high-quality products and services.

How would you take action if someone call you and your co-workers "min wage ppl"?

Where I work it's policy to update accnts w/ the debit or credit card that they signed up w/. The cards expire or are canceled. I understand that it is sensitive info but it is clearly explained contained by writing and is secured when they open an accnt w/ the company, it's their choice. One associate called me and looked-for an explanation as to why "doesn't trust giving it to a bunch of minimum wage people who can't be trusted." I be livid since all of the workforce are people that I trust, work w/ and most of adjectives I'm one of them, but I didn't know what to do. I wanted to notify him "How can we trust you to always bring our product put money on?" or "Its a good piece that none of our employees are salaried minimun wage and have no access to your information excluding when they first enter it into your accnt" or that he should take his business elsewhere if that's how he feel. But instead I kept talking close to nothing be wrong in my jovial go lucky voice. Was he okay to report to me this or had I taken it wrong?


Answers: You did the right piece. His comment was insulting, and showed you that he is insensitive, to read aloud the least. So you would win nowhere arguing with him.

Therefore you be smart to ignore his comment, because it did not deserve an answer.
Hopefully I would take action professionally the way you did. He probably feel like a contract later on when he thought in the region of how you handled it. You won by not stooping to his smooth.

How much is my nickle worth?

It's a 1943 nickle with a P on the rear legs above the monticello.


Answers: Well, it is worth 5 cents.

Unless you sold it to a collector, in which travel case it would be a bit more. But I'm not sure how rare those are.but it is amazingly old.
