Company doing massive layoffs, can I ask to be let go?
My company is now doing its 2nd round of 30% drop in force layoffs. I am single minus dependents and have some prospects for other job and would rather I be consent to go than anyone else. Also, and this is the offended truth, I have lost adjectives faith and confidence surrounded by my company and while I still work very complex I am a major grump something like the company's prospects.They talk roughly speaking the CEO going out and getting investors ad I don't even try to hold my tongue going on for how ridiculous he must look to investors since he has a proven track dictation of failure.
Is near any tactful road to offer myself up? I reflect it would be best all around.
Answers: Some employer will let you volunteer for a layoff, yes. In some cases, you'd be sparing manager from having to clear a difficult decision. However, some employer specifically prohibit this, because they don't want to lose all their top force.
If you trust your manager, have a word to him/her discreetly about the impression. It's not as if you have profusely to lose!
Just go to your Boss and bring up to date Him/Her what you just said.walk out out the BAD CEO part, you may call for a good Reference.

Most companies have a volunteer layoff in the past they start trimming the fat by letting the lower seniority human resources go. If here is a decent severance pack, there is no sense you could not talk to someone surrounded by HR and volunteer. Might save a guy beside a family of 5 and no prospects from losing his duty.
I made the same edict as you when I was 21...head off to music college..thinking I am doing my former work "own flesh and blood men type" colleagues a favour. Thought I'd whip one for the team... Martyr-stylee etc.
Biggest regret of my enthusiasm. Haven't worked since (its been 17 years). This morning for eg - I applied for a brief as a litter picker - deeply upsetting both MY parents and my girlfriend (as I hold a massive amount of qualifications surrounded by both IT and Music).
Seriously...keep your opportunity till they force you out the door. or you have something DEFINATELY set up..

But I think you're trying to seize out the door and still collect a severance package, right?
If so, consequently ask your manager or HR rep if they are accepting voluntary severances.
