What are the predictions for the US Dollar?
I'm not sure if this is the right way to word the cross-examine (the financial world is very unknown to me), but I'm interested to know the future predictions for 2008 for the US Dollar - i.e. whether it will be strenghtened or feeble (against the Euro). At the moment, as the Dollar is quite bland, it is advantageous to buy in Dollars - but is this expected to correction during this year?Answers: My prediction is that the dollar is going to continue to trip up.
When I first arrived in China contained by 2006, I was competent to get almost 8 Chinese Yuan for 1 US dollar. Now, when I a moment ago exchanged some at the bank, they give me 7.17. That is a huge difference if you are sending large amounts of money here. Unfortunately, my kith and kin just sent me a hulking amount of money to help my fiance settle up off her mother's mortgage. The difference be shocking. Before almost 120,000 Reminbi (chinese yuan), now it's 108,000! Many of the ethnic group I know in China singular earn 12,000 reminbi a year! (yes, about $1,650 dollars a year) All the while, prices within China are going up up up.
Unfortunately, I see this trend continuing, and many are predicting the dollar will solitary buy 6.8 reminbi by the time the Summer Olympics begin.
So perchance you could buy Chinese reminbi? I've been thinking instead of sending my paychecks home to earn 3% interest within a US bank side, I'm going to keep them here as long as possible, because they'll be worth more dollars within a year than today.
The prediction will be down down always down. But it's an see year so who knows. The drop within value of the dollar is more or smaller number media hype over the highly small percentage of people who bought homes at awfully inflated prices with little or zilch for a down payment.
However, nearby are a lot of ethnic group in Europe who invested heavily contained by those same banks that made adjectives those bad loans.
So things may not be too rosey for the Euro any.
By the way, interest rates are dropping so those homes that be lost, may be more affordable again. We'll have to dally and see.
As far as the ONE store taking Euros. The store owner accepts them because he wishes to visit Europe and doesn't want to bother going through currency exchange booths.
