What will happen to a company that doesn't send out W2 by Jan 31?
Answers: If they are reported they can be fined a good sum of money. I know because I had an employer who did this and I reported him and he quickly gave me my w-2's. Give them about 7-10 days after the 31st and if you don't have them call them and if that does not work then call the IRS!
they get fined by the IRS $50 for each w-2 that is postmarked after Jan 31 - not sure how they go about proving exactly how many are late, but that's the rule
