Another accounting question- please assistance journalize...?
Paid Reebok Company on account $2,800.This a transaction for December. What would I debit and credit? What exactly does this denote? That they paid their accounts payable down near cash? or that they compensated the company on credit? Please help/explain. Thanks again!
Answers: It means that the co. owed Reebok some money, at smallest $2,800, and in December the co. remunerated Reebok $2,800. Anytime you see the word "paid", your credit is definitely to bread. In this case, your entry is:
Dr Accounts payable (Reebok) $2,800
Cr Cash $2,800
(being money on account)
In this case, on description could mean that the co. owed Reebok, read aloud, $5,000, and now it's paying $2,800 first, within payment towards the explanation.
"on account" means that Reebok is issuing them credit
Debit the expense narrative
Credit Accounts Payable (liability)

A production plant is running with three kind of machines (A, B, C). There are two machines of each type (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2). The production is organized by electrical device types with a supervisor responsible for respectively machine type next to a few operators.Products are manufactured by one processed in steps by gadget type A, B and then C. In lay down to reduce the skulk time for parts as they move from one machine to the other the company decide to introduce cellular manufacturing beside two cells – that own the machines of all types. The objective is to reduce the head time from when a part is started to when it is complete.
Will the cash achieve the stated dream? Are there any negative of splitting the machines in this bearing? Under what conditions will it be better to leave the machines organized by type a bit than cell?
Answers: I would depend. Do machines A, B and C all work at indistinguishable speed? If there is a problem beside the machine A cell would you know how to catch the problem in the past it completed the whole cycle? Then you hold to consider down time. Would it end up costing you more time if your together production line is down or in recent times part of it? Good scenario.
