it has already happen here in the UK. it be bad after xmas, but beside the USA going into rescession the UK will fall into the poverty trap big time!
it is a unpromising thing. relations can't afford to buy things and so more and more businesses are going down (just look at how many companies own gone into liquidation since after xmas on companies houses website), and because there are few job here more people are have to go onto the dole, which process an increase in rates which people can't afford to salary. it will just be one viscoius circle.
