Ie, Im considering building a site offering a writing service to people,(Im contained by UK if it matters next to regards to legally recognized aspects)
Answers: if you provide a service and charge for it then it is a business.
This is a give somebody the third degree of definition. You can be self-employed and charge for a service (ie your time) without doing it through a registered company - you of late declare your income through a Self Assessment form. Alternativly you can set up a company and do it through the company.
The pros and cos are to do beside the way you salary your tax and NI, VAT reclamation etc and the fact that you draw from limited liability beside a company.
Generally if you are just charging out for your time after it is better and cheaper not to have a company.
