Whats the implication of a de-valued US dollar?
More specifically, How much could my savings depreciate this year, base on the current depreciating US dollar? What index should I keep a eye on. And what in your favour instruments might I use to keep or incorporate value to my dollars contained by these troubling times.Answers: Without more information, i can only assume that by money you mean within a savings story in the edge, your savings wont depreciate, they will a short time ago not return as much due to low interest rates, inevitable as the US economy is to hand recession. I live in the UK and own found that to take pre-eminence of the credit crisis, i have hedge my savings by investing within CFD's, Contracts for difference. These allow you to either buy or go contracts on stocks without paying the full stock helpfulness. You will have to discuss to financial advisor for details on required margin etc. I profited by selling on a waning stock. Northern Rock is a troubled UK bank bordering on nationalisation and share prices have dropped from lb12 to around 65p. If you enjoy LOTS of money, buying yen is a good conception as they have not be affected by the credit crunch. Then as the worth of the $ hits rock bottom, sell the Yen and buy stern $
OK- i'm trying to understand this. Your reserves won't depreciate unless you're spending it. Your interest rate may vary- but nobody is offering particularly virtuous interest rates right now anyway (the best i've seen is 5.25%- Countrywide sandbank money market vindication over $10K- that's what I suggest)
I can only assume you're referring to your mutual funds or 401k- you are only just going to have to ride it out close to the rest of us. If you are nervous in the order of losing value surrounded by your 401k or mutual fund, you can roll over into a lower risk fund. Just keep an eye on it (you can access your fund online or most papers enjoy them in the business section)
Anyway- pious luck!
